Work Text:
How did this happen? How did Apo manage to get into this situation? Trusting Owen to do one simple task on his own was the worst and simultaneously best thing that she’s ever done. Because if she hadn’t, there would be no way she would currently be standing face to face with the Cherrifire.
About a month ago Owen and Apo were trying to figure out who they wanted to cast for their newest movie production, "The Cowboys of Pity“. It's supposed to be a western action movie that also just so happens to have a cute extraterrestrial creature called Gnarpy as the main character, who goes around and helps all of the townsfolk sort out their problems. Owen really wanted to try producing a western movie, while Apo thought a sci-fi movie would be better. In the end they compromised and produced whatever absurdity this thing was.
But to really bring the vision to life, they needed the right actors. So they got all the best ones. some of whom they had worked with before, while others were a new addition to their studio. They got people like Scott Major, Ren Dogmourne and Oli Orion to play the important personalities of the town, such as the sheriff, the preacher and the mayor, respectively. They also got Martyn Wood, Shep, Mr M. And unusually enough, Owen to play the members of the ragtag group of bandits that they named "Billy's Kids". Though Owen was only really acting in the first place because his wife, Luanne Thyne, who was widely known as an incredible Oscar-winning actress, insisted that she’d only play the role of Missy if Owen played the role of Bunny, as the two roles were romantically involved. And if Apo was being fully honest, she thought it was a really cute idea.
Along with famous actors, the Pow-Creations studio owners always liked to cast other kinds of celebrities as well, for smaller roles or cameos. This time around they had such personalities as the currently top-charting rapper 4C, the star athlete and stellar stuntman Abolish Veylocke, the genius inventor and tech company owner False Symmetry, the breathtaking model Eloise, the internet-breaking comedian Bek Yamon, the fashion design icon Graecie and the up-and-coming TV show host Pyro Scythe starring in the production. At least those were the ones Apo and Owen had invented, but then if that was the full list, why did Apo see the most amazing singer-songwriter in the world, Cherrifire, among the group of actors and special appearances that they were about to give a studio tour to?
The moment Apo spotted Cherri in the group, which was immediately after entering the room (Cherri was really pretty and just stood out from the crowd, okay), she discreetly hurried over to her business partner, who was standing talking to his wife.
"Owen, a word.“ Apo said through gritted teeth once she got close enough. Before gesturing to a nearby room that she knew to be soundproof.
"Work calls," he said to Luanne in a playful tone before turning and following Apo into the room and closing the door behind him.
"Owen! What the heck!“ Apo exclaimed once the door fell shut, her professional disposer completely disappearing within seconds.
“I’m going to need more than that to understand what you’re upset about,” Owen reminded her in a calm tone.
"Why is the Cherrifire currently standing in the show-around group? I know for a fact I did not sign off on her being even asked to be in the movie.“ Apo angrily explained.
"Ohh, that. Yeah, you’re welcome.” Owen quickly went from realisation to sounding incredibly proud of himself.
"I’m welcome?“ Apo frustratedly questioned.
"Yeah, I know that you're a fan of her music and have, like, a huge crush on her, so I got her in the movie. You’re welcome." Owen seemed to clarify.
Apo seemed stunned for words; whether that was because she was still confused, debating if she should strangle her business partner or figuring out how he even knew that she liked Cherri was impossible to tell. After a few seconds of her opening and closing her mouth again, she finally spoke back up, "How did you even manage to do that without me knowing?“
"Well, remember last month when we were deciding who we wanted on the movie and sending the invitations to those people?“ Owen started explaining.
"Yeah." Apo encouraged him to continue after he went quiet for a moment.
"Well, you told me to find an artist we could work together with on the soundtrack. Which is something we would usually do together, but you were dealing with some issues in the prop department at the time and asked me to do it on my own,“ he continued explaining.
"I remember,“ Apo said as she was reminded of the mess that a simple documentation error had caused at the time.
"Well, I reached out to Cherrifire's manager and asked if she was interested. Turns out she really was, so we already started discussing the vibe of the song, and I offhandedly offered her a smaller part in the movie as well; she was ecstatic about it. And that’s how it just somehow happened.“ Owen finished explaining the events that led to Cherrifire being in the same building as them on this day.
"Okay… okay. This is fine. I now know what's going on. And everything is okay. If that's all I need to know, I'll be fine. I was caught off guard, but I can handle this. Maybe you're even right, and this is a good thing.” Apo tried reassuring herself.
"I’m always right. Plus you haven’t even heard the best part yet,“ Owen confidently declared.
"You’re barely ever right, and what do you mean, 'best part'?" Worry returns to Apo’s general demeanour after hearing Owen’s words; what more could he have done?
"You two will have, like, all of your scenes together. I gave her the role of the bounty hunter that is after your role's dad; you know the one.“ Owen said with all the smugness in the world. He must be really proud of this little plan of his.
Apo’s thoughts were running wild after this newest revelation. She only really agreed to have a role in the movie because Owen had one and they were a duo that did everything together. If one was forced into the movie by his wife, the other had to be in it as well. Owen had tried to use that as an excuse to get out of the acting in the first place, but Apo had quickly shut that down by agreeing that both of them could just interpret a role. She was definitely regretting that decision now. She could barely fathom the idea of being in the same room as Cherrifire, and now she knew that they would definitely have to interact at some point. This was definitely the best and worst thing that could have happened.
"See, I knew you’d be happy.“ Owen said after a moment of Apo’s complete silence.
His words caused Apo to snap out of her thoughts. "I will get you one of these days, Owen.“
"But till then, I believe we have a tour to conduct," he reminded her.
"Okay, let’s do this.“ Apo put her emotions to the side and let her mask of professionalism slip back on. This would be fine. She’s done this a hundred times before. Everything will be alright. So what if her favourite musician ever was in that group and looked even better in person? That shouldn't change a thing; Apo was a professional after all.
—————————
The tour was, despite Apo’s fears, going surprisingly well. Everyone seemed happy and excited to be here. And nothing had gone wrong. Apo and Owen had done their usual rounds by starting to show off the overall area and where they could find the general infrastructure. Then they had started showing off a few of the more impressive departments of the studio and introducing some of the staff members that they passed by. Each of them would take over talking about the departments that they were more familiar with. And it definitely didn’t go unnoticed that some of the returning faces were adding little bits of information, just quietly enough that Apo and Owen couldn’t quite make out what they were saying once the two of them turned their backs.
That’s when they arrived at one of Apo’s favourite departments that she still was hugely involved in, the props and special effects department. So naturally she took over in showing off what it had to offer.
"This here is where all of our props and special effects get built, created and tested," she said as she started leading the group through the warehouse-style building’s entrance.
"Most of everything that is fantastical, improbable or seen as impossible from our movies was made here,“ she added as she turned back to face the crowd.
"Isn’t that stuff usually added in later, with like computers and stuff?" Pyro asked after looking around the room.
"No, not in our studio. We try to avoid adding stuff in post, as it takes away from an actually good movie, makes the filming look super boring without the editing and just generally takes away a lot of the magic in the movie-making process." Apo almost went on a slight tangent, but this wasn’t the time or place, so she just condensed it to get her point across. Pyro seemed slightly stunned by her words, like he hadn’t expected such a passionate answer from the calm-seeming woman.
"I agree. It’s definitely one of the reasons why it’s so much fun to work with this studio,“ Scott had chimed in from next to Pyro. And most of the other actors gave a small sign of approval as well.
"Now that we're actually here, I can introduce you to one of your fellow co-stars that you haven't had the chance to meet yet. Wait just a second." Apo said before taking a quick sprint over to one of the side rooms of the building with an ‘authorised personnel only’ sign on the door. leaving most of the people behind extremely confused.
About two minutes later she returned carrying some sort of white transport box cradled in her arms. On top of the transport box she was balancing some sort of board thing, with a tonne of different coloured buttons and little lights on the top.
Once Apo got back in front of the group, she placed the box on the floor and opened the lid. She took out some sort of little green creature and placed it down on the floor in front of her before taking the board between her hands and pressing one of the buttons in the top right.
"Everyone meet Gnarpy!“ she proudly exclaimed as the little creature's eyes started to glow and the head started to slightly move up. It was obvious now that what she had gotten was a little animatronic green alien. And as she pressed a few more buttons, the little Gnarp closed its eyes and happily waved one of its little hands at the crowd of people.
"Omg, it’s absolutely adorable,“ Cherri suddenly cooed from the side of the group, which filled Apo with an incredible amount of pride. And a lot of the others seemed to share her sentiment, as they all looked at Gnarpy in the same way one would look at a cute baby kitten.
"I’m glad you all think it’s cute," Apo told them. "We’re still working out a few kinks in the programming, but other than that, it’s mostly ready for filming." She continued pressing a few buttons to make the animatronic move, as Apo was quite proud of it.
"Does it have any special functions built in?" False asked, clearly very interested in this little marvel of technology.
"Well..." Apo hesitated for a moment before confidently declaring, "It can play Yahtzee.“
"It can play what now?" Owen asked, "I don’t remember that being a function that’s needed at any point of the movie. Why would Gnarpy be programmed to play Yahtzee?“
"Cause it’s funny.“ Apo simply stated as she pressed the corresponding buttons to make the little creature throw some dice. The first die showed a one, and the second showed a one as well, which caused the group to pay closer attention. The third die was also a one; the excitement in the room was growing stronger. And died immediately, as the fourth die ended up being a five instead.
"Ohh, the little guy was so close," Bek commented as the last die was rolled.
"Okay, I have to admit that was kinda cool. Any other functions you sneaked in without telling me?“ Owen asked mostly as a joke; he didn’t really care about what extra functions Apo approved as long as the intended ones still worked perfectly fine.
“Well, there is one, but it hasn’t been thoroughly tested yet…” Apo said in a slightly absent tone as she was still focusing on making the little Gnarpy feel alive in this whole conversation. It was always good practice after all.
"Can you show us? Please.“ Mr M. had started to slightly beg, and a lot of the people seemed to agree with him, as the group seemed fully enamoured by the tiny green creature.
"I guess it should be okay; it may just not work as well as the rest, but I'm mostly sure it should be fine. Does someone want to get one of the apples from the bowl over there and try to feed Gnarpy?“ Apo asked the people around her.
"Can I do it?" Cherri had immediately asked with clear excitement in her voice.
"Go right ahead.“ Apo said that wired sort of pride was taking over again. Cherri liked her creation; this was without a doubt the best day of her life.
Cherri quickly returned with an apple in her hand and knelt down in front of the alien. She offered it the apple, and Apo made Gnarpy move like it was excited before making it move closer to take a bite. It worked perfectly, and Cherri seemed extremely happy with the whole interaction. Until it went for another bite of the apple and cut a bit of Cherry’s finger. She immediately pulled her hand away from the apple with a slight hiss and pressed the off button of the animatronic. This can’t be happening. This is the worst day of Apo's life.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry; the security protocol must have bugged out or something. I'm really, really sorry…" Apo started frantically apologising while subconsciously moving slightly closer to Cherri.
She got interrupted by Cherri speaking up again, "It’s fine; that kind of stuff happens, and the injury is not actually bad.“
Cherri, not seeming mad or genuinely hurt, reassured Apo, and she managed to calm her nerves down and think of what she could do to fix this. "We have a first aid kit in the robotics lab. If you want to quickly follow me, I can help you bandage the cut." Apo offered.
"I wouldn’t want to be a bother,“ Cherri simply stated as she got off of the floor.
“It wouldn’t be a bother at all; I have to put back the animatronic anyway, and I’d rather you not have to walk around with an open wound because of me,” Apo insisted.
"Great, and while you do that, we'll continue our tour by showing you guys the studios. I trust you to join us once you’re done.“ Owen quickly commented before guiding the rest of the group towards another door and away from the whole debacle.
"Okay, it's this way then. And sorry again.“ Apo quickly added as she picked the white box back up and started walking to the room that she’d gotten it from.
"You really don’t need to apologise. That little creature is way too adorable to actually be mad about it.“ Cherri said with a slight giggle.
Once they reached the door, Apo realised that she needed her key card to get in, which currently hung from a band that she’d stuffed in her pocket, which she couldn’t actually reach while carrying the box. How does this always happen to her?
"You need some help with that.“ Cherri said once she noticed the lock on the door before swiping the key card from Apo’s side and opening the door. "After you," she said, holding the door and waiting for Apo to pass before following her in.
“Please don’t touch anything on the tables; most of the stuff in here can be dangerous if you don’t know how to use it.” Apo warned Cherri immediately after entering, as she didn’t want her to get hurt even more. Apo set down the box on one of the tables and wrote a quick note on a paper she left on top of it which told the team working on it what kind of issue she had had before beelining to the other side of the room to presumably get the first aid supplies.
"I suppose that's why you have medical supplies in this room, then,“ Cherri said while looking around.
"Yeah, sometimes even with tonnes of experience, something can go wrong, and it’s always better to be prepared." Apo agreed, as she seemed to find the supplies she was looking for. Then she walked back over to Cherri and asked, “Could I please have your hand?”
"As in marriage? Isn’t that a bit too forward, Miss Apo Kuna?” Cherri sarcastically joked as she gave Apo her hand.
"What! No. I meant it as in to bandage, not in, like, a marriage way. I mean, I only really met you today,” Apo protested while her face turned into a slightly pinker hue.
Her initial reaction made Cherri burst out laughing before she said, with the laugh still present in her voice, „Ohh, Apo, Apo Kuna.“
And Apo realised in that moment that Cherri had just been joking. She faces away from Cherri to start and disinfect the cut and to try and hide her embarrassment.
Their conversation moved to another topic as Apo finished up a quick bandage and as they walked back to meet up with the group. And by doing so, Apo found that talking to Cherri just came so naturally and was incredibly fun, making her look forward to getting to do it again.
—————————
Today was the day! Cherri and Apo were scheduled to film their first scene together. Which was their characters meeting for the first time. And Apo was ready. She had decided that this time she wouldn’t make a complete fool out of herself in front of Cherri, even if the last time hadn’t turned out to be too bad in the end. And to make sure everything would work out just fine this time, Apo had made preparations. She had learnt all of her lines by heart so that she wouldn’t fall over her words and embarrass herself. She had triple-checked that all the props were ready and safe to use this time. She’d even picked out an especially good outfit in case the two of them would run into each other before changing into the costumes. She had planned everything, and this time she would not mess it up.
Apo arrived at the studio about ten minutes before she was supposed to be there for mask and makeup and walked to the costume department. When she arrived, Cherri was already standing there and speaking with a purple-haired guy with glasses.
"Good morning,“ Apo greeted them.
"Hiiii," Cherri immediately returned the greeting with a happy smile.
“Hey,” the guy next to her said, “I don’t think we’ve met yet. My name is Kalix Hopepetal. I’m Cherri’s manager and friend.”
“Ehh, the second is debatable,” Cherri teased.
"What do you mean, debatable?“ Kalix frustratedly questioned.
"The name's Apo Kuna; I'm one of the studio managers." Apo introduced herself to the man.
"Is that tomato juice?“ Cherri suddenly questioned as she saw what Apo was holding in her hand.
"Yeah, it's my favourite.“ Apo confirmed.
"Really, Tomato?“ Kalix questioned.
"What’s wrong with tomato?“ Apo frustratedly asked.
"Nothing’s wrong with tomato; it’s just that there’s better.“ Cherri argued.
"I also like apple a lot," Apo tried defending her taste.
"What about Cherry?" Kalix asked.
"Wow, well that's just rude, asking me what I think of a person right in front of them," Apo sarcastically said.
"I meant the flavour," Kalix immediately defended.
"Okay, so you don’t care about me, Kal? Is that it?“ Cherri said in a fake offended tone.
“That’s not even close to what I said.” Kalix gave up in frustration.
"But now I am kind of curious. What do you think of me, Apo, Apo Kuna?" Cherri questioned.
"I think you write really good music and have a nice singing voice.“ Apo responded in a casual way, even though her mind was spinning with possible answers she could have given. Hopefully she didn’t come off as some weird kind of fan. Or even worse, like she didn’t like Cherri.
"Right?! Her music is so good.“ Kalix immediately agreed, making Apo feel more confident.
"You guys," Cherri cooed. Her friends were just so sweet.
"Wow, all of you are here early,“ a girl wearing an access card around her neck said as she approached. And even though Apo didn’t know her, she was quite certain that she was one of the people who worked in this department who just arrived to work.
“Aren’t we right on time? The information I got was that we should be here at 8; it’s currently 8:02,” Kalix said after checking his watch, his voice taking on an almost slight sort of panic. He probably didn’t like the idea of having messed something up in Cherri's schedule.
“I got told the same time,” Apo said to try and reassure the man that he hadn’t, in fact, messed up, without it being too obvious.
"We usually tell people to show up at 8 so that they’re all here for 8:30. There are some exceptions to that, of course; for example, when we work with Scott, he’s still convinced that he’s supposed to show up here for his makeup at 7:30,” the girl seemed to explain.
"Wait, are you telling me that Scott always arrives with, to his knowledge, an hour of delay?" Apo incredulously asked. To which the girl just nodded.
"Just out of curiosity, who else do you tell the wrong time to?" Cherri questioned the girl, now being incredibly curious herself.
"Well, we tell Shep and Ren both to be here at 9 because they are always about half an hour early, probably out of fear of being late. We tell Martyn to get here at 7:45; that usually gets him here on time. Luanne is the only one I can think of off the top of my head that we actually tell to be here at 8:30 and who then is here at 8:30.“ The girl answered Cherri’s curiosities.
"You guys put a lot of planning into getting everyone here on time," Kalix remarked, seemingly impressed with the amount of organisation that was involved in such a simple-seeming task.
"But since you're already here, you can come in while I set up all of the stuff,“ the girl said as she opened the door with her card.
"After you," Apo offered as she held the door open for Cherri, who passed through with a polite nod, closely followed by her manager.
—————————
Apo had found that the whole process of getting the actor to look like their character was way more enjoyable than she had thought. Though that could have simply been because she and Cherri were sitting in the chairs next to each other the entire time and ended up talking through most of it.
Another reason why this was way more enjoyable than expected was the outcome. Apo was unsure which part of her brain exactly was thinking that Cherri looked incredible dressed as a western bounty hunter, but that part should definitely not be the most prominent one right now. Apo needed to focus; they were about to start the first take of the scene, and she could not mess this up.
Sadly, Apo messed up her lines multiple times due to her nervousness and stupid, not-working brain. It wasn’t all that bad, though, as she got her characters’ nervousness really accurately on tape, even if the reasons for that nervousness might have been different from what the script had envisioned.
Once the director was sufficiently happy with the scene, the two of them were done. And Apo stood against a wall to the side of the room, checking her phone after seeing that Owen had written her multiple messages, hoping nothing had gone horribly wrong. Luckily it was just Owen being, well, Owen.
"What doing?“ Cherri asked as she propped herself next to Apo on the wall.
"Nothing much, just Owen,“ she answered as she put the phone back in her pocket. Why would she be on a phone when she could talk to Cherri?
"He writes you a lot?“ Cherri asked.
"Yeah, most of my friends do; it’s almost annoying if it wasn’t so funny,“ Apo told her.
"Really? In that case you should give me your unlocked phone for a moment,“ Cherri simply stated.
"Okay, and why's that, Cherri?" Apo asked as she handed her, her already unlocked phone. Apo really needed to stop just doing whatever Cherri wanted, without really thinking about it. That wasn’t good; it was definitely desperate.
"So I can add my number, obviously. And contribute to the annoying friends that write to you.“ Cherri stated. She gave Apo back her phone before starting to leave while saying, "So you better write to me as soon as possible."
Apo could have tried to say something, anything. But her mind was going a thousand miles an hour. Cherri had just given her her number. Her phone number, not her manager's one, but hers. Even better, Cherri called her a friend; this was definitely the best thing that's ever happened to Apo.
—————————
Apo had just finished shooting one of the big group scenes and gotten out of her whole cowboy getup, which meant she was off for the rest of the day now. Which was especially great because it was barely after midday, a perfect time to go get some lunch before heading home and relaxing.
As Apo was heading out of the studio, she heard someone come up behind her. "Hey Apo,“ the person Apo now recognised as Cherri greeted.
"Hello Cherri,“ she quickly returned the greeting.
“So I wanted to go to this new Italian place that just opened up in town with Kal and made a reservation, since I heard that it’s supposed to be really good, but Kal forgot, and now he’s too busy to come, so I was wondering if you would be down to join me instead?” Cherri asked after explaining the situation.
Going out to eat lunch with Cherri, just the two of them; if Apo didn’t know any better, she would think she was dreaming. But she wasn’t, and she needed to not mess this up.
"Yes, absolutely, yes," Apo said with way too much enthusiasm, before catching herself and continuing, "I mean, I'm down. I was going out to have lunch anyway, and it’s always more fun when you’re not alone.”
"Fantastic, I'll just call us a cab then…" Cherri said as she started taking out her phone.
"No need. I’ll just drive us.“ Apo offered instead.
"You drive yourself?“ Cherri questioned as they started walking to the parking lot.
"Why wouldn’t I? I got that licence for a reason after all,” Apo joked.
“Kal doesn’t let me drive anymore. I guess I just thought it might be a more common thing. I talked with Luanne this morning, and she doesn’t drive here either,” Cherri started.
"That's just because Owen drives,“ Apo told her.
„Why would your business partner be driving her? Do they live close to each other?“ Cherri questioned.
“They do live in the same house, so I guess I would say that yes, they live close,” Apo answered.
"They live together?“ Cherri still seemed confused.
"You know that they're married, right?“ Apo turned to face her.
"They are… Actually, retrospectively, that does make a lot of sense." Cherri said after a moment of thinking.
"How did you not know that?" Apo, who was now laughing, asked, "It was like a huge scandal on the internet because people thought that Luanne was way out of his league."
"Never heard of it; mustn't have been as big as you thought,“ Cherri tried confidently defending, but her face betrayed her by turning a slightly bit pink out of embarrassment.
“Why doesn’t Kal actually allow you to drive anyway?” Apo asked as the thought had just crossed her mind again.
"Don't think that's important right now, actually," Cherri said as she started slightly speeding up her steps.
"What! Did you crash a car or something?" Apo jokingly questioned. To which Cherri only started walking even faster.
"Cherri, Cherri!“ Apo yelled after her as she sped up her steps so as not to be left behind until they reached the car and started moving.
—————————
The movie production was moving perfectly on schedule, and for the first time ever, Apo almost felt sad about it. In less than a month the recording phase would be over, and she wouldn’t have an excuse to hang out with Cherri anymore, and that really sucked. Before Apo had met Cherri, she was a simple celebrity crush to her, but now that she’d gotten to know her, there was no denying it: Apo had fallen in love. And Apo had reached a decision; she wasn’t going to just do nothing. No, she would ask Cherri out on a date. And she’d do it today.
Apo knew that Cherri would be at the studio today to talk with one of the sound directors about the song she was writing for the movie. And Apo knew where that was going to happen, which was the recording room. And Apo had a key card that allowed her access to that very room. Everything was fitting together perfectly.
So towards the scheduled end of the meeting, Apo dictated to head over to the room to catch Cherri before she left. Once Apo opened the door, she saw Cherri arguing with the producer she was meeting. "What’s going on?“
"This songwriter has no idea what she’s doing. The music she’s brought doesn’t fit the vibe of the movie at all.“ The producer immediately complained to Apo.
"No, it's the other way around; he completely missed the mark,“ Cherri argued instead.
Both of them seemed upset and were now looking at Apo for support.
"Okay, how about you play both pieces without telling me who's who, and I'll give you my honest opinion?“ Apo offered the solution.
And that ended up being exactly what they did. The first song wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really what Apo had been imagining for the movie. The second song, though, just kind of hit different. It wasn’t what Apo was imagining either; it was somehow even better, so once it was done, she said, "I liked the second one more; it was honestly kind of perfect.“
"I told you so,“ Cherri told the producer. Of course the song that Apo would like would be Cherri’s; her music is somehow always perfect.
"Whatever," he retorted before turning back to face the console in front of him.
"Why did you actually stop by here?“ Cherri asked.
“Ohh… It’s… well… Would you mind stepping out in the corridor for a moment?” Apo’s nerves returned, but she wouldn’t back down.
"Sure," Cherri agreed and left the room. Once the door closed behind Apo, Cherri continued, "If this is about this morning, I can explain."
"No, this is…. Wait, what happened this morning?” Apo started before immediately getting distracted. Great work, Apo.
"Nothing, you were saying?“ Cherri luckily brought the topic back before it could derail too far off the tracks.
"I was wondering…" Come on, Apo, just say it. What's the worst that could happen? "… wondering if you happen to be free to go out on Saturday night."
"Of course I love hanging out with you,“ Cherri happily replied.
But that wasn’t what Apo meant. “I was thinking of it being more like a date.”
Cherri’s expression turned to one of shock. Apo had messed up. “I’m sorry, I don’t know why I even asked…”
"Yes." Cherri interrupted her, "Yes, I'd love to go on a date with you." Cherri’s expression had changed again; this time her face displayed nothing but happiness and a slight blush.
"Really, I mean perfect; I'll pick you up at 8,“ Apo said before leaving with the biggest smile on her face.
