Chapter Text
They kissed for a while before finally pulling apart, foreheads resting together as they caught their breath. A small—but real—smile slowly appeared on Ziyu’s face, the kind he didn’t even realize he was wearing. Xuning noticed it instantly. His eyes softened as he leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to Ziyu’s forehead, lingering there for a second longer than necessary.
They both stood up from the sofa, the room suddenly quieter than before.
“So…?” Ziyu broke the silence, his voice hesitant, fingers fidgeting with the hem of his sleeve.
“So…?” Xuning echoed, amusement flickering in his eyes.
Ziyu didn’t get the chance to say anything else. Xuning stepped closer, pulling him into a warm, secure embrace. Ziyu froze for a heartbeat before melting into it, his arms wrapping around Xuning instinctively, like that was where they had always belonged.
“What is it for us now?” Ziyu asked softly as he pulled back, eyes searching Xuning’s face.
“We’ll stay like this,” Xuning replied without hesitation.
“This?” Ziyu blinked. “Boy… boyfriends??”
Xuning chuckled, lifting a hand to gently cup Ziyu’s cheek.
“Whatever you want, baobei.”
Ziyu smiled in return—wide, shy, and impossibly warm.
They sat back down on the sofa, closer this time. Their shoulders touched, then their arms, until Ziyu leaned in fully, their faces just a breath apart. No rush. No words. Just quiet cuddling, the kind that made the world feel slower.
“Aren’t you hungry?” Ziyu asked after a while, glancing up at him.
“Not anymore,” Xuning replied, lips curling into a teasing smirk. “I ate the most delicious thing.”
Ziyu rolled his eyes, though his ears burned red.
“Shameless.”
They stayed like that for the rest of the night, wrapped in warmth and quiet laughter. Maybe Xuning was right—he wasn’t hungry anymore. After all, he had tasted the most precious and delicious thing that night.

The next day…
It was Saturday.
Xuning and Ziyu woke up still tangled together, arms snug around each other even in sleep, as if neither had dared to let go.
“Good morning, baby…” Xuning murmured, placing a soft kiss on Ziyu’s forehead.
“Mmm…” Ziyu hummed, half-asleep, nuzzling closer.
They eventually got up and freshened up, one by one. Xuning finished first and headed straight to the kitchen. Soon, the gentle sizzle of a pan filled the air as he prepared breakfast—Ziyu’s favorite.
Blueberry pancakes.
The sweet scent hit Ziyu the moment he stepped out of the shower. His clothes were laid out neatly on the bed: a freshly ironed shirt and leather pants. He smiled to himself and started getting dressed.
Halfway through buttoning his shirt, the door opened.
“I’m getting dressed,” Ziyu snapped instinctively.
Xuning didn’t reply. He simply walked over, took Ziyu’s hands away gently, and began fastening the buttons himself.
“What are you doing?” Ziyu asked, though he didn’t stop him.
“Getting my baby ready,” Xuning replied casually.
“I can do it my—”
“I know,” Xuning cut him off softly.
Once he finished, Xuning leaned in and pressed a tender kiss to Ziyu’s lips—slow, unhurried, and full of warmth. Then, hand in hand, they went downstairs.
The blueberry pancakes were plated neatly on the dining table. But what caught Ziyu’s attention wasn’t the food—it was a small letter placed carefully to the side.
He walked over, sat down, and picked it up.
The letter read:
> Good morning, baby.
Hope last night was amazing for you.
Hope this day—and the days that follow—will be amazing too.
Hope you’ll enjoy the breakfast.
I love you to the moon and back.
— Xuning
Ziyu smiled, heart swelling. He looked up to find Xuning already watching him, eyes full of affection.
“You wrote this?” Ziyu asked.
“You already know,” Xuning replied, sitting beside him.
They ate breakfast together, sharing soft glances and stolen smiles, before heading out for the shoot—together.
---
At the shooting set…
“Xiao Ning! Xiao Yu! You’re late,” Yu Shi-jie called out, more amused than annoyed.
“Sorry, jie,” Xuning replied with a grin.
The shoot went on as usual.
---
That afternoon…
“Okay,” Yu Shi announced, clapping her hands. “Next, we’ll be shooting a kissing scene—and it’s going to be a bit intense.”
A smirk instantly appeared on Xuning’s face.
After a moment, both of them took their places, getting ready.
“Ready…
