Chapter Text
"Hey Mate come here."
Ron called to Harry as he walked into the Gryffindor common room, followed by Hermione. It was Saturday, so most of the students were either outside playing Quidditch with Hufflepuff or had gone to Hogsmeade to relax or for breakfast in the Great Hall. The Ginger head sat on one of the soft chairs while Harry took a seat in front of him, looking curious but already building replies for whatever his best mate might say.
Normally, Ron would be behind them to go to Hogsmeade or at least to play Quidditch not wanting to be cooped up inside but today he wanted to talk, which was quite odd in itself.
"Everything alright, Ron?"
"Yes, actually no." Huh?
"Harry, do you love Ginny?"
Harry stared at Ron blankly. Why was he asking that?
Harry had already asked Ginny out, and they had been dating for a while now, so why now?
"Yes, I do love her. That is why I asked her out, didn't I?" Harry replied confused to where this was heading.
"Harry, we need to have a talk."
"Is it the talk? Ron don't worry I won't hurt Ginny. I love her like you do. I won't hurt her." Harry replied begining to smile thinking of how he had just kissed Ginny on her forehead today. They had totally kissed like a couple!
"Harry. No. Listen, okay mate? You are not in love with Ginny." Ron spoke slowly as if talking to a child.
"What! What are you saying, Ron? I love your sister."
"No Harry, trust me your not in love with her."
Harry was hella confused now. Why was Ron telling him that he wasn't in love with Ginny. Harry knew he wasn't the perfect boyfriend but this was something weird.
"What are you talking about? Is this about me not spending time with her? Ron I'm sorry but you know how the situation is currently."
Harry said, trying to convince Ron. Well Harry did have some free time but he just didn't feel like spending time with Ginny. She was a nice girl and a good girlfriend but Harry just didn't feel like it. Ron shook his head, muttering- Yes, the situation being you avoiding Ginny so you can stalk Malfoy- which went unheard by Harry.
"You know what fine! Harry, tell me Ginny's eye colour."
"What... what does that have to do with me loving Ginny?" Harry asked confused.
"Just tell me Mate! What's Ginny's eye colour?"
"Well, it's Brown....probably brown...or hazel?" Harry mumbled drfiting thinking how he was supposed to remember someone's eye colour, it wasn't as if he was staring at Ginny's eyes.
"Now tell me what's Malfoy's eye color?"
"But what's Malfoy have to do with this!? Don't tell me that git likes Ginny! How dare he!" Harry exclaimed angrily at the thought that the arrogant Slytherin liked Ginny.
"Are you kidding me? Just tell me Harry."
"Well Malfoy's eyes are grey but a bit of a icy grey to be honest if you look closely you can see they have a little bit of blue but it's very faint. They give off a shade of silver when he's in the rain as the thunder reflects his eyes, while they turn a little dark Grey whenever he's angry or sad. But Grey, his eye colour is Grey."
"Well...?"
"But what has Malfoy's eye color have to do with me loving Ginny? And Merlin is he in love with Ginny? I need to talk to him. How can he be in love with Ginny! He doesn't even know her!" Harry stood up furious his fist in the air as if he were going to storm upto Malfoy and demand answers. Meanwhile, Ron Weasley turned a peculiar shade of red, almost as red as his hair.
"Bloody Hell. Hermione, I give up! He's a lost cause. I'm done"
Ron states, throwing his hands up as he paces the room, glaring at Harry. Hermione moves towards Ron, her arms surrounding the redhead's shoulders in comfort. She gives a quick peck on the lips as Ron pulls her in again for a kiss.
Harry looks at his socks as if they are something he is seeing for the first time. Oh! he never knew his toe had a small hole in his socks. Huh. You find out something new every day.
"Ron, relax you were an oblivious idiot too for years."
"But I did come to my senses. And look we are even together now and happy! He's so oblivious!" Ron protested, flailing his arms at Harry as if he were the victim.
"Hey! I'm here you know." Harry replied, offended at Ron's words.
"Doesn't make a difference."
Harry crossed his hands, angry at being ignored as the two talked about him in front of him without him. Finally, Ron sat down in his chair as Hermione took a seat too, facing Harry.
"Harry, how do you feel when you are with Malfoy?"
"Well that git makes my blood run faster. He just angers me so much. It's like just the sight of him makes me want to punch him and...and...do things to him. I want to rub that smirk off his face. He acts like he knows everything. I can't even breathe properly when he's in the same room as I am. He's just so annoying and looks so weird with the gelled hair. I mean, he has such good hair, then why gel it! Remember that one morning when he was running late because he slept in because he was waiting for his mother's letter the previous night and he forgot to gel his hair. It was dripping wet when he rushed to class, it was so smooth and almost pretty when it dried off!"
Harry shut up with his rambling as he watched Ron smack himself at Harry's words.
"See! I told you, Hermione, this won't work. They would never get it."
Ron faced Harry as he looked at him, all serious, his face red.
"Harry, now listen okay, listen carefully."
Harry just nodded numbly.
"You, Harry Potter, aren't in love with Ginny, you are in love with Draco Malfoy."
"Really? Wait what.. No! that's not possible, me and him Never!"
"Have you seen each other when you two are together, it's like you both are just waiting to jump on the other!"
"No we're not we don't..don't like each other, do we?"
Before Ron could answer, Ginny entered the room. She smiled at the trio as she took a seat on one of the couches.
"Guys, you won't believe what I just saw."
"What happened, Ginny?" Hermione asked, curious.
Ginny looked at him almost grinningly before landing her gaze at Harry staring at him intently as she delivered her news.
"Malfoy was kissing Zabini."
"What?!" Harry stood up, exclaiming.
Malfoy was kissing Zabini. Out of all the people he had to kiss, bloody Zabini!
Harry rushed outside, ignoring the pleas of the trio and Ginny to stop. He had to find Malfoy and now! Malfoy should know who he belongs to. Harry smiled as he realised what Ron was trying to tell him but he didn't stop. He had to find Malfoy.
Back in the common room Ron fist bumped Ginny.
"Thanks Gin, your lie did do the trick."
"Anytime, brother. Though it was good to have Harry as a boyfriend, it wasn't fair to any of us when he even if unknowingly, had Malfoy in his mind. It was always Malfoy this Malfoy that even when we were together. It was starting to get boring to watch Malfoy's poor attempts to ruin our dates by accidentally arriving at the same place as we were. Poor git that Slytherin won't know what hit him. He didn't even kiss Zabini."
With that the three of them bust out laughing.
Chapter Text
On the other side of the castle Draco Malfoy and Blaise Zabini were talking about the latest footlong Potions essay, which they had to submit in their next Potions class, while they walked to the Great Hall when someone came rushing towards them as he collided with Draco, causing both of them to fall down.
"Who in the Merlin- Potter?"
Draco sneered, his voice almost confused as he stared at the Gryffindor who was smiling at him sheepishly.
"Sorry."
"And now you won't even say a sorry atleast learn basic manners...wait what? Did I just hear the famous Potter say sorry or are my ears deceiving me? Have you hit your head somewhere, Potter? You okay?" The blond asked sceptically, staring at Potter who was now grinning maniacally, staring right at him. Draco had a very bad premonition as he shared a look with Blaise.
"I'm fine, Malfoy one would think you care about me, Malfoy."
Harry replied cheekily when his gaze fell on Blaise, who was standing there, his hands crossed and watching them with a smirk.
Harry felt himself get angrier by the minute as he thought of ways he could hex that boy without anyone knowing.
"Zabini didn't see you there."
"You would have if you weren't so focused on flirting with him."
Blaise replied, pointing at Malfoy while smirking widely.
Harry got up as he lend a hand to pick the Slytherin up, who, much to Harry's dejection slapped his hand away.
"I can tell the wrong sorts for myself. Thanks." Draco sneered falling back easily into their routine, whatever to remove the weird vibe he was beginning to get.
Harry rolled his eyes but didn't comment on anything his eyes dead set on Zabini.
"I need to talk to you, Drac-Malfoy...Alone."
He said looking at the Slytherin as he said the last words. Draco was surprisingly flustered at Harry's request as his cheeks sported a light pink colour.
"Alone...? Why?"
"Please?" Potter should not be using puppy eyes. Draco thought they should be illegal.
"Only because you said please not because I want to be alone with you or anything." The blond muttered not wanting to be seen eager.
Harry heard Blaise snicker beside Draco as he whispered ,which sounded suspiciously something like 'sure you don't'. Draco smacked Zabini's arm as he nodded at Harry while Zabini finally left them alone.
Everything seemed too quiet as the boys walked next to each other towards an empty classroom where they could talk without getting interrupted. It seemed entirely surreal for them to walk peacefully without hexing each other to death.
The awkward silence was killing both Harry and Draco as a result, the impatient Gryffindor took the other's arm as he dragged the other, shocking him as he soundlessly followed, too surprised to make a sound. Once they were in the class Harry closed up to Draco so they were facing each other.
"Why did you kiss Zabini?"
Harry demanded not beating around the bush like the perfect Gryffindor.
"What-?"
"Was he good? Do you like 'him' Malfoy?" Harry sneered, getting irritated as his brain imagined the two kissing and Malfoy liking him.
"What has gotten into you, Harry are you even alright? Did Granger feed you some weird potion or what?" Both boys so out of it that they did not even realise Malfoy's use of Harry's first name.
Harry could see that the other was starting to get annoyed, so the Gryffindor did what he could think of he kissed Draco Malfoy.
It caught the other in surprise, who yelped but later kissed him back. Harry's hands wound around the blond's waist in a tight grip while he put it around the Gryffindor's neck, bringing them even closer. The kiss was heated yet something so intimate and intense. Harry smiled between the kiss, loving how he felt like his entire body was set on fire and burning, and he'd gladly burn if this is how it would feel every time he kissed Draco.
"Tell me Draco, is this how Blaise kissed you? This is how you felt? Can he make you feel what you felt now? You felt it too, didn't you Dray?" Harry asked, his voice gone husky and breathless from all the kissing.
"Yess....Potter. But what in the hell are you going on about Blaise? Why would he kiss me?"
"Wait- what but Ginny told me- Oh Merlin's hats! Ginny tricked me by telling that you kissed me, and then I was jealous that you kissed Zabini out of everyone. He got to taste those intoxicating lips of yours." Harry burst out laughing once he realised how he had practically walked right into that one.
Meanwhile Draco watched in confusion. First, Potter stormed to him angrily, pulling him in an empty class, then snogging him senseless mind you, it was the best kiss he'd ever had besides the fact that it was his first kiss, then starts rambling and then laughs about something.
"What's going on Potter? Is this some sort of prank!" Draco screeched the last part, getting defensive, to which Harry looked shocked at first then calmed down.
"No...No ughh infact the opposite Ron was trying to tell me how I'm not in love with Ginny and someone else and then-"
"Potter, have you finally gone crazy?" Draco asked not understanding a word of what the Gryffindor was saying.
"I love you, you annoying git."
Draco stared at the other boy, frozen.
"I love you?" Harry said, whispering though it ended up sounding like a question.
"Say something, Draco.... I know that we are enemies but I don't care I love you and I accept if you don't like me back. Actually, scratch that, I won't accept it I'll probably stalk you until you accept me."
"Merlin shut it, Potter and just kiss me again."
Harry didn't need to be told twice. He grabbed the Slytherin as he kissed the blond. This time it was rough in the start but both of them relaxed as Draco bit Harry's lower lip who licked it again furiously, blushing. By the end, both boys were panting for air as Draco eyed Harry whose shirt was messed up his top buttons undone his normally messy hair looking like he'd just fought with Buckbeak.
"I love you too, Potter," Draco muttered lowly turning to stare at the door.
"Harry."
"I love you, Harry."
Harry grinned cheekily as they held each other, adjusting their shirts.
"So would you like to be my boyfriend Malfoy?"
"Hmm...sure but you're taking me to a date and you're paying. And I want gifts, lots of them and chocolates, the good ones, not whatever you and Weasley eat. I'm not a plebeian." Draco said smirking at the end.
"Gladly if that's what it would take for you to go out with me, I'll do it."
Harry replied, grinning while Draco rolled his eyes but Harry could see the small smile that the blond was trying to hide.
"Now would you tell me what was all about and why did you look like you would kill Blaise?"
"Uhh about that well....."
After Harry explained what had happened, Draco burst out laughing as Harry stared at him like it was the first time he had seen the other laugh.
"Weaslette made a fool out of you, Potter." With that he started laughing again while Harry pouted.
"Hey! no fair. At least I had the guts to come to you."
"Sure by throwing daggers at Blaise and dragging me to an empty class where you snog me."
"But look how it worked out. I'd say I did a pretty good job though, now I have to get back to Ginny."
"I might have an idea, Potter."
Draco replied with his usual smirk in place as he told Harry about his prank to get back at the she Weasel.
An hour later the two boys were under Harry's invisibility cloak as they watched his best friends laughing like hyenas.
"Relax, Potter. Remember our plan."
Harry nodded as Draco left the room. Harry quietly went to Ginny's dorm as he took a paper and scribbled as neatly as he could.
'Meet me in Divination class at 11.
I'll be waiting.'
'Luna Lovegood'
The Gryffindor smirked leaving the room as sneakily as he came. Now they just had to wait for Ginny to see the note and the show to begin. He went outside the Gryffindor room as he stuffed the cloak in his pocket before entering the Common room as if he were angry.
"What the hell, guys! Ginny! Where are you?"
Hearing his voice, Ginny paled as she squealed and ran into her room just as the plan was supposed to be. Harry went into the common now, smirking as he saw his best friends who were watching him with confused expressions.
"What happened guys?"
"Aren't you supposed to go after Malfoy, maybe snog him or something?"
Ron enquired warily.
Harry masked his smile as he pulled a confused expression.
"What are you talking about? Why would I snog Malfoy out of everyone when I have Ginny as my girlfriend?"
"Bloody Hermione! This was supposed to work! Then where did you go off running?"
Ron looked somewhere between pissed and about to jump off in the black lake.
"I went to find Malfoy and then asked him why he was snogging Blaise, then he said that he could snog anyone he wants. Well, I couldn't argue with that, could I?"
Harry shrugged as he got up and turned towards the fire because if he stayed there any longer, he would have burst out laughing. Harry saw Ginny slipping out of the room as she ran out of the room. Plan in motion.
"Well, guys I'm going to take a round around the grounds. I'll meet you later."
With that, he left the room to meet his boyfriend who was waiting for him at the ground behind a tree, as he watched Luna sitting there.
"Did Ginny see it?"
"Yes, she did. Let's go I have the cloak."
Both the boys went to Luna who glanced at them then went back to her reading.
"Hey Luna I remember Ginny was calling you in the Divination class, she wanted to ask you something."
Harry nodded at Draco, who smirked and left to go where Ginny was. He smirked as he entered the class.
"Weaselette, fancy seeing you hear what are you doing here?"
"None of your business, Malfoy why aren't you snogging your boyfriend?"
"I don't have a boyfriend, not that you should know, Blaise isn't my type. Though Lovegood is. Did I tell you she's a great kisser? And its all thanks to you. If you hadn't sent Potter after me Lovegood would never have saved me and then she wouldn't have kissed me to protect me from Potter and your lies."
Ginny glared at Draco.
"What are you talking about, Malfoy? Luna would never kiss you."
"Sure Weasel, but it was one of the best kisses I ever had. It's not as if you had any claim over Lovegood with you being with the Golden boy and all. I will leave now. Lovegood did always spout about wrackspruts and whatnot near you!"
With that, Draco smirked and left the class, knowing very well that with the anger and Weasley blood, the outcome would be something good. Draco met Harry outside the room as they watched Luna enter the room. They high-fived as Draco kissed Harry again, both of them leaving.
That evening the two boys lay in the Gryffindor common room, Draco reading a book while Harry slept his head on Draco's lap, who was playing through Harry's nest, as he would call it.
Ron and Hermione entered the room as they saw the couple. As the two understood the situation, they smiled as Ron took a seat on the couch, with Hermione beside him. After a while, the common room door opened as Ginny and Luna entered the room. Luna being covered in several marks, glaringly obvious on the pale skin while Ginny walked in like a proud bird flaunting itself.
"Looks like it worked, Potter."
Draco commented as if saying something about the weather to his now awake and watching the scene boyfriend.
"It sure did."
Ron gasped at the scene as he looked at Ginny and then at Luna, the pieces slotting themselves in his brain as he stared at his younger sister.
"Okay, we need to have a talk."
