I isekaied as my OC in the wrong world

Summary:

Amlu D. Shinwa somehow wakes up as a child in the forest were Luffy grew up, ends up befriended, and changes the history of One Piece.

Notes:

Just a warning this is my first time writing not only a fanfiction but also just in general, well besides school papers. The premise behind this is what if I combined with one of my OCs and woke up not in the world, she belongs to but One Piece. Any details about past life are either made up or so basic that they don't really matter. If I enjoy writing this I will try to keep updating but don't expect anything from me.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

She woke up in a forest, startled awake by a boy’s laugh. Looking around she was confused, she fell asleep in a forest, yes, but not this one. The forest she fell asleep in was filled with tall skinny white trees, foliage was there but not dense, and most importantly it was familiar. This one was filled with thick short trees, the foliage was dense, and very unfamiliar.

Ok, think how could you have gotten here, did she fall asleep in the wrong forest? No, the forest she was used to was the only one around for miles, and she fell asleep less than 500 feet away from her parents home. Ok, did she get kidnapped, unlikely the town she lived in with her parents was safe, everyone knew everyone, and they rarely got visitors. She looked down at her hands and shrieked, her hands were small, so was her arms, and well everything else. Her thoughts began to race, what happened, how was she small. No wait. She wasn’t small, she was a child. Not too young thankfully, she was disgusted by snot-nosed toddlers, even if her nieces were cute. If she had to guess she was 10 (or maybe 9?) a decent age to be randomly stuck in if she had to be a child. But still she was rather comfortable with her body, well at least she was, but now…

I must be dreaming, right? Yeah dreaming, about a forest? No, I've never dreamed about a forest as vivid as this. Heck, I’ve never dreamed anything this vivid.

Most of her dreams tended to be chaotic, switching from one concept to another after a little bit, but never this realistic.

Her thinking was interrupted by the boy’s laughter again.

Ok, who is this kid and why is he laughing so loud? Maybe I should go find him, maybe he has some parents around and they can help me figure out where I am, and why the hell I’m a kid again.

She stood up just to do that, and stumbled as she stood, there was a weight on her back, one she was unused to. She looked back and her brain malfunctioned, a sword. A sword was strapped to her back, a black polished sheath, the hilt was a deep purply color, and the blade itself was long, thin, and curved. A katana.

Wait, I recognize this sword. It's the one I modeled recently for Amlugarya. Surudoi Kaze wasn’t it?

Amlugarya was one of her OCs, one she made up to represent her in the game she was working on. And Surudoi Kaze or Sharp Wind was her sword.

What's this doing here, wait, nevermid that why is it real!?

A boy broke through the bushes behind her, he was running fast, and behind him was a tiger. A big viscous looking one too. “Quick, run” the boy said, giggling as he went by. So run she did, because what else were you supposed to do when a fucking tiger was charging at you.

As she ran she realized something, she was fast, her body was lithe like it was built for speed, unlike before. Before she was flabby and couldn't run for shit, even when she was a kid who played outside in the forest all day she was slow.

She quickly out paced the boy and passed him by when in front of her appeared a gigantic bear. She skidded to a halt, eyes wide in fear. The boy crashed into her not long after.

“Uh oh, that's one of the mountain lords” said the boy.

“Great, any ideas on what to do about it?”

“Shishishi, I’ll take the tiger and you can take the bear since you have a sword!”

“Right, I have a sword” she mumbled under her breath. She drew said sword from her back and held it in front of her. Somehow the sword felt right in her hands, which was strange since the only sword she’d ever held was made of plastic.

The lord of the mountain charged and lashed out with its claws, somehow her hands moved like they knew what they were doing and blocked the claws. She gaped, shocked, and even more so when her hands moved to attack, fast enough the bear couldn’t block and took out one of its eyes. Behind her she heard an attack land home on the little boy and smelt blood.

Shit. The kid, we should have just ran. Hopefully we still can.

She looked back as the kid lay on the forest floor, his chest shredded by the tiger’s claws.

Scratch that, hopefully I still can.

She made to do just that when the kid tried to stand up,

Shit, can’t just leave the poor kid, maybe if we can find a doctor he’ll survive.

She sheathed her sword, and scooped up the kid, and ran as fast as she could. She heard opposing growls behind her, quickly looking over her shoulder she saw that the bear and tiger had decided to fight each other instead of pursue the two kids.

Good, maybe we will survive then.

She kept running for minutes until she stumbled upon a hut atop a hill. She began yelling,

“Help! This boy is hurt!”

A rough bunch of men came running outside, alerted by her yelling brandishing weapons towards her, but stopped short when they saw the kids.

“That's Luffy” said one.

“And a girl” said another.

“He’s hurt!” said a third.

The men ushered her and the long unconscious boy in, taking the boy from her arms as they began tending to him. She stood staring at the blood gushing out of his wound shocked, now that she got a good look at him she recognized him, his boyish laughter from earlier, his smile shaped scar, the straw hat with the red band covering his black hair. And most importantly they called him Luffy.

Luffy, the main character of her favorite anime.

Great, that answered where she was, she must have somehow isekaied into One Piece. And she began to panic again. Now not only was she in an unfamiliar body, with a familiar sword, but she was in another world which she only knew so much about, and one that kind of objectively sucked. Like seriously the world is ruled by snobbish rich people who would do anything to keep their power, and they ruled the worst military of “justice” fanatics, even though most of the people they oppose never see a court room, and even then aren't given much of a trial. And worst of all she just ran into the Monkey D. Luffy, future King of the Pirates. She’d read enough fanfiction to know that now that she had saved his life he was going to stick to her like moss to a stone, even if she hadn’t saved him, the kid probably would have stuck to her because he wanted a new friend.

She could feel herself starting to get dizzy from lack of oxygen due to her hyperventilating, frantically she clutched at her sides looking for her purse, if she could find her medicine and start going through the exercises then maybe she wouldn't pass out. Instead, she found nothing and began panicking even more the breathing exercises meaning nothing now, as the world around her began to grow black.

And it wasn't even to Truck-kun either.

Was her last thought as she passed out.

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Summary:

Shinwa goes hunting and meets Ace.

Notes:

I liked writing the first chapter so now here I am, also thanks for the kudos.

Chapter Text

When she woke up again there Luffy was hovering over her. She was laid down on a mat with a pillow under head. She blinked up at the boy.

“She’s awake!” he yelled and began asking her questions at a rapid-fire pace. “How did we escape? Why did you rescue me? How come I’ve never seen you before? I know all the kids around here so you must either be from the city or another island. How did you get here? What's your name? Are you strong? You have a sword so you must be strong. You want to be friends?” he rambled on and on. Coming to a stop all at once when his stomach growled. “Shishishi, I’m hungry, are you too? Let's get some food!” He pulled her up and began dragging her outside. “I bet you're strong, maybe you can get us some food, oh and for the bandits too. Dadan will get upset if we hunt and don’t leave any for them. Ace usually hunts for us but he hasn’t come back yet.” She was still shellshocked from her earlier realization and hadn’t answered any of his questions much less said a word. So she just stood there staring at him.

“Well?” he said.

“Oh, I uh, I guess I can go get food for you. Apparently, I’m good at using a sword. What should I look for?”

“Meat, duh”

“Great, what kind of meat?”

“The yummy kind! Usually crocodile is good when Ace brings it but I like tiger more that's why I was trying to fight that one earlier!”

I stared at him dumbly, usually crocodiles and tigers aren’t hunted much less eaten.

Oh, what the hell, if this cute kid wants there's no way I can say no, besides in this forest there is nothing big enough to feed us all that won’t be dangerous.

“Alright, where's the nearest crocodile?”

Luffy pointed in a direction and said “You're gonna want to get three so we can all eat some.”

Great time to go use my sudden knowledge on swords to go fight some apex predators so that I can eat, I guess I am hungry.

She wandered in the direction Luffy pointed, and stopped once she heard running water ahead of her. Her body automatically dropped into a crouch, while her brain was still trying to figure out the killing part of the hunting she was supposed to do. She’d never killed anything bigger than a bug before, much less a fucking crocodile. She quietly drew Surudoi Kaze while stalking forward.

Screw it just go with it, if Luffy is hungry then and Ace isn’t back yet then he’ll probably try hunting himself. And you can’t let him do that now can you, no matter how strong he is in the future right now he’s just a wimpy kid that can stretch.

She paused.

Wait, I'm just a kid too.

She shrugged, oh well at least she’s a kid with a sword. She looked forward at the river coursing its way through the forest.

There's only water and logs. Oh wait, aren't crocodiles supposed to be ambush predators who camouflage as logs?

She poked one of the logs with the tip of her sword.

Nothing.

Just a log I guess.

Suddenly the log next to it opened its mouth and lunged at her.

Well there you go, a crocodile. Now what?

Her body moved to impale the crocodile on her sword as it lunged at her, almost as if the sword was tugging her hands into the position.

That will never work.

It worked. The crocodile impaled itself on her sword, the blade going through its open mouth and into its brain. She winced, there goes never having killed something before. Two more logs lunged towards her. She tried to pull the sword from her kill in order to defend herself, and instead found it stuck in the crocodile's tough hide.

Uh oh.

Just as the two crocodiles were about to chomp down on her, there was a war cry as another kid came between them and beat the crocodiles down with his fists. She stared.

Was that Ace, like as in Firefist Ace, son of Gold Rodger, second division commander of the Whitebeards, third favorite character Ace?

Well, I guess this means I survived. She finally pulled her sword free, stumbling back a bit. The boy turned back towards her, looking her up and down. Yup, that was Ace. Those freckles and angry face definitely belonged to him.

“Who’re you?” Ace asked.

“Um” quick think of a cool name “Amlu-” not your stupid OC’s name, a name that will fit in “D.” stupid don’t make yourself a D that will get you killed “Shinwa.”

“Cool I’m Ace, I’m surprised you managed to kill that crocodile, not many around here can do that.”

“Um, I just kind of followed my gut?”

“Great, bye” he turned around, one crocodile slung over his shoulder and the other dragging behind him. She shrugged and followed behind, dragging her first kill behind her as well.

Once they made it to the hut, Luffy came running out “Meeeeaaaaat!!!” He ran up to her chanting “Meat. Meat. Meaty meat meat.” all the way. Stopping in front of her he giggled, “Shishishi, you actually did it, that's so cool you must really be strong. Hey I know why don’t you join my crew! I’m going to get really strong and then set out to be the Pirate King! You can be my first mate!”

She looked down at him “You don’t even know my name or anything about me, how can I be your first mate? Besides that I don’t even know who you are.”

Yes you do, he’s Monkey D. Luffy, how can you not know who he is?”

“Shishishi. Right, I'm Monkey D. Luffy, future King of the Pirates! Who’re you?

She sighed “I guess I’m Amlu D. Shinwa.”

“Cool, now you can be my first mate!”

Great, now you're his first mate.

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Summary:

Shinwa kills a human for the first time.

Notes:

At this rate I'm just going to keep writing all day every day until I get bored of it, updating as I go.

Chapter Text

Apparently being his first mate meant hunting crocodiles for every meal, “playing” with him, even though it was more like sparing. By her third time hunting crocodile she started to get a hang of it, she still couldn’t recognize which logs were logs and which were crocodiles, but when they lunged at her she just ran them through. The bandits were quickly taken to her, which was strange. She was terrible at people skills, but she guesses bringing them food without snarking at them like Ace would won her some points. It also probably helped that she could cook better than the bandits, even with no spices and no experience with cooking crocodile. She would cut up the meat, once skinned by the bandits, into bite sized pieces and roast them in a pan over a fire. Evenly cooking it through instead of the undercooking or burning the bandits managed.

The time she spent with Luffy was fun, even if she would much rather read. They ran through the forest while Luffy looked for cool bugs, fought and roughhoused, and avoided chores like the plague. And unlike two other children she could mention she actually bathed.

The pattern continued for a few days before one day after Luffy chased Ace in the morning like he normally did, he didn’t come back. Worried, she set out to look for him, remembering that at some point Luffy would run into the Bluejam pirates and get beaten up for the sake of protecting Ace and Sabo’s treasure. Hopefully she could find him and get him to safety before he was beaten too badly, Luffy had just barely recovered from the tiger scratches. She ran into Ace and Sabo talking in hushed voices, before she found Luffy however.

“Maybe we should go look for him, he's been gone for a while” said the blond.

“Yeah right, like I care about that crybaby” said the other.

“Well, he did stick his neck out for us, didn’t he?”

“And that was his choice wasn’t it.”

“The kid just wants some friends. I don’t know why you insist on trying to kill him because of that.”

“You what!” she spoke up from behind them. She had forgotten that part. The boys flinched, and Ace looked almost guilty.

“What’s it matter to you!” said Ace.

“I’m his first mate, and besides that I’m a decent person! I mean seriously who tries to kill a kid because he tried to make friends with you!” She shouted.

“Yeah well-” Sabo cut him off “She’s right, Ace.”

“Well, if you agree with me then you can help me get him out of whatever trouble he got himself into.”

Sabo nodded, stood up and dragged Ace with him. “They took him that direction” pointing off into the distance.

“Ok, let's go rescue that idiot kid.”

When they got to the pirate's hideout in Grey Terminal, Sabo and Ace charged in with their pipes, before Shinwa could do anything they had beat down the guards standing outside. She shrugged and followed them inside. Inside was a sight that almost made her wretch. Luffy hanged from the ceiling, his hands tied above him, absolutely covered in blood. It dripped down his small body and onto the floor. The Bluejam's first mate was using him like a punching bag with his spiked brass knuckles, while Bluejam himself looked on, amused.

She growled and drew Surudoi Kaze, the sound of her sword leaving its scabbard drawing attention from the two adults. While the other two went for the first mate she went for Bluejam. She would wipe that smirk off his face, and she should probably kill him too, she thought darkly. Bluejam would only cause problems in the future and the thought of Sabo “dying” only solidified this thought. She swung at him, but her swing went wide.

What the hell? I thought I was supposed to be good with the sword, why’d I miss?

Bluejam just laughed at her, “Well what do we have here missy. Got a big sword? I can show you my big sw-” She swung again angered by where his words were going. This time the blow landed, cutting a deep gash into his side.

He growled “Well all I wanted was to show you a good time, but I guess I just have to show you a bad one instead.” He drew his own sword and swung at her. She moved on instinct, her thin blade stopping his thick one in the air. They both drew back and she swung again, when he moved to block it she changed direction at the last minute, this time landing on his other side. She grimaced, she could see the fat beneath his skin and beneath that, his intestines. He paled, “How are you so strong, you're just a kid!” He dropped his sword instinctively holding his side to hold his guts in. This time she stabbed him as he bent slightly down, right where his heart should be, well if it wasn't then at least it probably went through a lung.

Bluejam wheezed, collapsing to the floor. She finished him off with a brutal stab into his throat.

There, dead.

She looked over at where Sabo and Ace were still beating the first mate with their pipes. Saw that Luffy was still hung up and went to cut the rope to let him down. She hugged her bloodied captain close and watched as they finished off the pirate. Huffing they looked over to where Bluejam lay and paled.

“Wha-” Sabo swallowed “What did you do?? How did you not only beat the captain on your own but kill him as well?” She stared back numbly.

“It needed to be done so I did it. I have this sword, why not use it.”

She scooped up Luffy and walked out, “Come on let's go he needs medical attention.”

The two boys followed wordlessly, Ace staring warily. As they walked back, Luffy began waking up, he looked around surprised he wasn’t in their hideout anymore.

“What happened?” he asked, “Did I save their treasure?”

“You sure did, Captain.”

“Shishishi, you called me captain, you haven't called me that before.” he looked over at the other boys. “Did you help Shinwa rescue me? Does this mean we’re friends now?”

“No” said Ace, Sabo quickly covered his mouth “Yes!” he shouted over him.

“Shishishi, yay!”

Sabo and Luffy continued to chat while Ace looked on, grumpy, and Shinwa processed what she had just done. Killing a human should be very different from killing a crocodile, yet it felt the same to her, just slightly harder to do. She decided to process it later when the kid wasn’t bleeding and quickened her pace.

They arrived at the bandit's hut and she went inside, Ace following her in while Sabo stood outside. Dogra and Magra stood up from where they sat playing a card game when they entered.

“What happened to you two, why are you covered in blood? Are you hurt, Shinwa, Luffy?”

She looked down, hurt she wasn't hurt, and what blood, oh right.

I'm covered in Bluejam’s blood and probably some of Luffy’s too.

At that moment it all caught up to her at once. She was covered in another man’s blood, a man that she had killed. She quickly sat Luffy down, looked for a bucket or something to throw up in, found one, and did so.

She continued to heave long after she had emptied her stomach of the crocodile she had eaten earlier. Once the heaving calmed down, she stood up without a word and went to wash off. When questioned again whether she was hurt, she answered no. When she came out, clean of blood, raw from scrubbing, and her clothes mostly free of blood she surprisingly found Ace fussing over Luffy with the other bandits. When she looked outside Sabo was gone.

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Summary:

Time passes.

Chapter Text

Time passed again. Ace and Sabo slowly began joining them in their sparring. When Luffy had the idea of 50 fights with each person a day Ace quickly agreed. Sabo procured a chalkboard and some chalk from Grey Terminal and the fights began. Shinwa was pleased to discover that when she let her instinct govern her body, she could beat Ace or Sabo 9/10 times, while when she tried to fight with her brain she tended to lose, and badly. Ace and Sabo were almost even in their fights, while Luffy couldn’t even land a hit.

She decided that that couldn’t last, the first mate couldn’t be stronger than her captain after all. She began training him after their fights on his aim, while Ace and Sabo went out to Grey Terminal.

“Try slowly extending your arm, while correcting where it's going to hit that tree.”

“Shishishi, ok!” His arm slowly stretched over to a tree 30 ft away and lightly tapped it.

“Good now keep doing that while going slightly faster.” She left him to do that while she went to examine her sword. She sat down with a soft cloth and began whipping it clean. She looked into Surudoi Kaze’s mirrorlike reflection and stared at herself. She hadn’t found a mirror since she came here and didn’t know if she looked different. Well now she did. She still had black hair, though now it was natural, and she was able to spot some purple highlights in it, the same shade as Surudoi Kaze’s hilt. Her eyes drifted to her ears, they were slightly pointed at the top, and her own eyes were a cloudy blue. Confirming that she was in Amlugarya’s body as a child. Amlugarya was an elf, so it made sense that her ears were pointed, but one thing that didn't make sense was her eyes. Amlugarya was supposed to have been born blind, hence the cloudy blue, but she could see. Heck she could see better than she could before, she had no need for glasses now.

I need to be prepared.

Even if she had taken down Bluejam it didn’t stop Sabo’s shity father from finding some other shity pirate to kidnap Sabo. Hmm.

Maybe if I take over Grey Terminal then no one else can. Then if Outlook comes looking for Sabo, he’ll have to come to me, then I can deal with him myself.

As the days continued to pass, she began making moves in Grey Terminal. Whenever a new boss appeared she hunted them down and made sure everyone knew that she was the new boss of Grey Terminal. Eventually people began to come to her looking for work or for protection. She considered each outlaw carefully, some were just trash, while others were decent people. She took the ones she liked and began building her own crew.

One day Luffy, Ace, and Sabo confronted her about it. She just shrugged them off, said technically it was Luffy’s crew and to take it up with him.

“What! But I didn’t ask them to join us!” he protested, “What if I don’t want them in my pirate crew!”

“Calm down, Captain. I’m doing this to protect us. Plus, I’m earning money for when we set out on our own. All of them are only temporary and they know it.”

“Shishishi ok! I trust your judgment as first mate then. But from now on it has to be all of our crew, Ace and Sabo too!” They made noises of agreement.

“It’s not fair if Shinwa gets to run Grey Terminal and we don’t, we're almost as strong as her right?” said Ace, huffing.

“Oh yeah?” said Shinwa. “Wanna prove it?” which led to all three coming at her. She fended them off with her sheathed sword, she managed to beat them each into the ground even Luffy who her attack tended to bounce off of when not using her blade, though it took a minute.

“Ok, we can share the crew. But we need to come up with a name for it together then.” They all thought for a while until Sabo piped up.

“How about we call it the SASL crew? It's the initials of all our names by age.”

“Hmm” said Ace and Luffy.

“Wait, how do you know I’m older than you three? I don’t even know how old I am.”

“Well, your taller than us.” said Ace

“Ok, I guess, SASL crew it is!”

The other three let out whoops.

“Tomorrow, I’ll take you three to meet the crew I've put together.” The rest of the day all they could talk about was the crew.

The next day they went down to Grey Terminal, and she introduced them to the crew.

“This is Gray, she’s in charge of logistics.” Gesturing to the tall grey-haired woman. “This is Tommy, Billy, Henry, and Bianca, their pickpockets in Goa.” she gestured to the four lanky teenagers. Then pointing to the last of them, an old man in beggar's clothes “This is Sam, he’s in charge of information.” The three boys introduced themselves.

“I’m Luffy, I’m going to be King of the Pirates!”

“Hmph, I’m Ace”

“And I am Sabo, lovely to meet you all” he said with a slight bow.

“From now on we’ll be known as the SASL crew, and these three will be co-bosses of this crew.” The crew all welcomed their new bosses then went back to what they were doing.

“Hey Shinwa, how come we don’t have a hideout like Bluejam did?” asked Luffy.

She shrugged, "Couldn't find one that wasn’t falling apart. And everyone here already has their own hideout.”

“What if we built our own hideout, then you three can finally stop living with those bandits.” said Sabo.

“Yeah, let's do that” Luffy shouted.

It didn’t take long before they had a treehouse built on the biggest tree in the forest. And not long after that for Ace to suggest becoming siblings via cups of sake.

I can’t believe I’m a part of this.

She gulped down the sake at the same time as the other three boys.

Great, now I'm not only an older sister, I'm older sister to these three.

Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Summary:

Shinwa gets a powerup.

Chapter Text

It didn’t take long for her three brothers to want to begin going on heists in the city. She reluctantly agreed on the condition that the first place they robbed was a bookstore. She needed to learn more about this world, there is much more than what is shown in the anime and manga after all. The four teenagers decided to help, together the eight of them planned the heist of a bookstore in the noble section of Goa city.

I should make sure that we aren't recognized just in case.

She procured eight masquerade masks of varying style and wear. This way Sabo would be less likely to be recognized by his father, and the others would be able to go in town without their masks and not be recognized as criminals.

They struck at night. All eight wore masks and cloaks, they all carried sacks, and their own personal weapons of choice, just in case. Ace smashed the door open with his pipe, and they all rushed in as the alarm blared. They quickly filled the sacks of whatever books were in sight, and booked it, (haha pun intended). It wasn’t long before the guard appeared and chased after them shouting. Thankfully they were all fast runners, and climbers, they all climbed up the side of a building and began running across the rooftops, jumping from roof to roof occasionally. In this way they lost the guard easily and made it outside the wall in a matter of minutes. The eight of them went back to the treehouse that the crew shared once they were sure they weren't being followed by anyone.

“Shishishi, that was fun”

“It was, wasn’t it.” the rest agreed.

I clapped my hands “Ok, time to organize them and put them away.”

And most importantly make sure I can read them; it would suck trying to learn to read and write again at my age.

And thankfully she could, they were all in English. Good this meant her plan would work. Not only could she read up on this world, but she could also write books to sell. She had come up with that idea when Luffy asked for a story one night, and Sabo and Ace looked up at her excitedly when she said sure. So, she slowly started telling them the story of The Hobbit each night. Then she had the idea of writing it down for them to read whenever they wanted, then it struck her that hey this story doesn’t exist here I could sell it myself along with all the other books, manga, and TV I've read/watched.

Hence, she began writing daily at the end of the day, slowly working on the world-famous books of The Hobbit, and later The Lord of the Rings. They also continued training during the day, along with the crew and then at night they planned or went on heists. It wasn’t long before they were wanted in town, and yet they evaded capture each time, there were of course a few close calls, but when it came down to it the siblings and the teens were good fighters.

One night they were robbing a manor, when Shinwa felt a pull in her stomach. She had long since learned to follow her body's instincts, so she followed the pull. It led her to a locked safe, which one of the teens made quick work of picking. And there it was, inside was a Devil Fruit. They quickly nabbed it, agreeing that once they compared it to their devil fruit encyclopedia they would decide on who gets it or if they should just sell it.

Once they arrived home they all gathered around the big book, flipping through the pages until they found it. A purple swirling strawberry shaped fruit called the Write Write fruit. All at once all looked over at her. She blinked.

“Wait, me? You want me to eat it?”

“Well yeah, all you do in your free time is write. Of course you should have it, it's the Write Write fruit.” said Sabo.

“Yeah, besides the book says it's better for people with an imagination and you have the best imagination, what with all your stories you tell.” said Ace.

“And I already have the Gum Gum fruit so I can’t have another.” said Luffy.

She looked over at the teens, who had taken to living with them in their treehouse while Gray and Sam lived out of Grey Terminal. They all looked at each other and nodded.

“We don’t want it, boss, one of you should have it, you're the bosses.” spoke up Billy.

“Ok I guess, down it goes.” She took a bite out of the fruit, and immediately almost gaged, it was both way too salty and way too sweet at the same time, like someone has mixed pure salt and pure sugar together and coated it in honey, vomit, and rotting meat. She struggled to swallow it and eventually did. Though her body didn’t like it.

“Shishishi, you made a weird face. It tastes terrible doesn't it!”

She shuddered “Yeah it does. Let's see what it can do!” She reached for one of her journals and a pen. “It said it can make things you write come true right?”

“Yeah! You should make meat appear!” So, she wrote down meat and watched in awe as the ink peeled off the paper and turned into a slab of fresh steak.

Hmm, I was just thinking how steak would be good instead of all this wild game, and here it is.

They all stared in awe at the top tier cut of meat, its marbling was perfect and it was nice and juicy.

“Is that a wagyu steak!” said Sabo.

“Yeah” sighed Shinwa

“Let's cook it!” said Luffy. And so, she did, searing it on both sides until medium rare. She split it up into eight pieces and they all ate it, sighing when it was gone. They looked at her expectantly wanting more, so she made more. She wrote meat again, thinking of multiple wagyu steaks, and poof there appeared eight steaks of good size, all wagyu. Their eyes popped from their heads, wagyu was so rare and so expensive they were only ever served to the rich, and in small portions, but here were eight portions, all a foot in diameter. Mouths watering, they all watched as Shinwa grilled them, then she got an idea, what if she got some steak sauce. Her mouth watered even more, it had been a while since she had seasoned food. She quickly wrote down steak sauce, watched the words peel off and poof there was some top tier steak sauce. She watched the meat carefully watching to see if it disappeared when she made something else appear and to her surprise nothing happened. The meat continued to sear on the pan. She grinned, quickly opened the bottle and poured some on. They all sighed as the scent hit their noses.

“Your fruit is amazing” said Luffy, “I wish I could make meat like this appear too”

“Hmm, I wonder what the limits of this are.” While they ate, she started writing down items in her journal seeing what could and could not be made, eventually she began to feel tired. But she learned some things, she had to be thinking of the item she wanted when she wrote it, but it didn’t necessarily appear as she thought it. For example, when she wrote cash, thinking of a million US Dollars, instead appeared a 1,000 Beli. When she wrote something that was living it disappeared after a short time, for example when she wrote beetle because Luffy wanted to see a cool beetle, it appeared and stayed for 10 minutes before it disappeared and the words reappeared in her journal. So, then she tried bigger things. She next tried a sheep; it stayed for 5 minutes. Then thinking big she wrote dragon. Instantly she felt exhausted, as if she had just run a marathon with a 1000 pounds on her back. But the dragon she was thinking of appeared, while all the others clapped and cheered, all she could think was that she wanted it gone. And poof it was gone, and the weight was lifted from her back. She still felt tired, but not as much. More like she had just got done exercising. This got her excited though, she could summon fictional things. She quickly wrote down a name in her book, Eric, another one of her OCs, and poof there he was, she felt the weight again, and then he vanished a second later.

This got her to thinking maybe it was because of the power level of the thing she was summoning. A beetle can’t do much and is small, so it stayed for a while. Meanwhile a sheep also couldn't do much but was bigger thus less time. And of course, a dragon was not only huge but could do heavy damage, perhaps causing the weight. Another thing she wanted the dragon gone and it disappeared, as if heeding her thoughts. When she summoned her OC, she thought of him when he was most powerful, almost godlike and he stayed for only an instant. So, she tried writing his name and thinking of him when he was weak, weaker than herself. And poof there he appeared.

He knelt before her “My lady what can I do for you” he signed with hands.

Oh, not only can I understand him even though I never learned sign language, but he also wants to serve me.

“Hmm, will you do whatever I ask of you?” A nod “Jump up and down 5 times then punch Luffy.”

“Hey!” Luffy protested. But Eric followed through. She continued asking questions and giving commands, testing the limits of what he would do. A thought occurred to her: could he get him to do things that could harm himself? Before she could ask, he disappeared. So, she rewrote his name, and he came back.

“Do you remember what my first command was?” She asked, and he signed that he did. Good that meant they kept their memory, that could be useful. Next, see if they will fight for me.

“Spar with Ace over there.”

“Wha- Hey I didn’t agree to that.” He protested before dodging Eric’s fist. She watched as Eric continued to attack until a minute passed and he disappeared again. So, she could not only summon items within a certain limit but could summon creatures and characters for a limited time. Next, she needed to see if she could affect things around her. So, she wrote ‘Ace punches Luffy’ looked up at Ace and watched as Ace decked Luffy in the face.

“Oh wow”

“What, why did you punch me Ace!”

“Just felt like it, crybaby.” said Ace.

“Hmm, I wrote for Ace to punch you and he did. Ace how did you feel?”

“I was just thinking that the crybaby was annoying sometimes, then the thought came that I should punch him, so I did.”

“Hmm, what if I wrote something that you didn’t want to do, would you do it or would it not happen.” He looked at her warily.

“Go ahead and try, as long as it isn’t too bad.” he said. She wrote, ‘Ace punches himself’, nothing happened, the words didn’t peel off, and Ace didn’t punch himself.

“Ok, I wrote something you didn’t want to do, and nothing happened. So at least I know I can’t bend people's will against them. That's good I guess.”

Hmm, I wonder if I can change things and people.

She wrote down ‘Luffy gets stronger’ the words peeled off, and she looked up.

“Hey Luffy, punch Ace.” And he did, he probably wanted to get back at him.

“Gum Gum Pistol!” Everyone's jaw dropped when he not only hit but also pushed Ace back a foot.

“Quick, Luffy keep punching things until you can’t hit them anymore!” Shinwa said.

“Shishishi, ok!” It lasted about a minute before he stopped having his frightening accuracy and strength.

This fruit is handy.

Shinwa meets Garp, and gets in her second kill.

Homework sucks, also have some art!

Chapter Text

Time passed and it wasn’t long before Sabo was spotted by his father in Goa when they were out shopping. They ran when he called his name.

“Who was that” Ace asked

Sabo sighed “My filthy noble father.”

“Do you not like him?” asked Luffy

“No, I don't, he doesn't like me either, he just cares about what I can do for him!”

“Then he’s not a real father.” Shinwa said, “A real father would do anything for their child, even if they're not blood related.”

That caused the subject to be dropped, until Luffy asked “I wonder who my father is then?”

She choked, of course Luffy doesn't know who his father is, Dragon’s never been around and Garp hasn’t told him either.

“Oh, right I never told you!” said the large hulking form of Monkey D. Garp, who had apparently snuck on them while they were walking. She shrieked, while Luffy and Ace groaned and Sabo and the teens flinched.

Apparently Garp was here and had found them, somehow sneaking up on them despite his giant body. “I guess you're old enough to know. Your father is Monkey D. Dragon, the most wanted man in the world!” Sabo's eyes lit up, while Luffy just stood there picking his nose.

“The Revolutionary Dragon, that's your dad Luffy?” shouted Sabo.

“Eh, who's that?”

“Your no good father,” said Ace, scowling.

“He’s the leader of the Revolutionary Army.” Said Shinwa.

“Cool, so is he strong?”

“Ghahahaha, of course he is,” Grap said. “Anyway, who're these brats with you? They can join you and Ace in training today.” Shinwa gulped at his words.

Uh oh, looks like I’m being trained by Grap the Fist.

Training was hell to say in the least. And by the end of the five days Garp was here he had adopted Shinwa and Sabo as his grandchildren and dubbed the teens his grand nephews and niece. She was glad when he set sail, his training was tough, but she did learn a few things about fighting while he was here.

Before long the SASL crew got an offer from a noble to look for his lost son. The four of them shared a look and agreed to meet, all the while planning on beating Outlook into the ground.

They wore their masks and cloaks to the meeting with the four teens there as backup, despite not being as strong as them (minus Luffy who still couldn't land a hit at a decent speed) they were decently strong. Outlook came with some of the Goa guards who tensed when seeing the masks, recognizing just who this noble was meeting with.

“Alright brats, let's get this started. I want you to locate this boy.” he handed them a picture taken of Sabo in a stuffy looking outfit, obviously a year or two younger. “His name is Sabo. Once you've found him, bring him back to me at the Outlook manner and in return I’ll give you 100,000 Beli. Sounds good?” The four bosses of the SASL crew shared a look, nodded, then looked back at the four behind them.

“We already have him, but we won’t be giving him to you.” Said Ace.

“We’ll take your money though.” she interjected.

“What! What do you mean you have my son, give him to me. I've received a marriage offer from the royal family, and they want him. If the amount’s the issue I can double it, no, triple it! They readied their weapons, Shinwa’s Surudoi Kaze, Ace and Sabo’s pipes, Luffy’s fists, and the teens shivs. The guards drew their own and the fight began, Outlook withdrawing, frightened, behind the guards. The eight of them made quick work of the 20 or guards and turned on Outlook.

“What should we do with him Sabs?” Asked Ace.

“Can we kill him?” Shinwa asked darkly. She hated abusive parents, even parents whose only abuse was neglect. Her birth mother often neglected her and her birth father often hit her, until she got to the age that her chest began to grow in. Then he tried other things, and she called CPS on him. She ended up being adopted by the very agent who took her away from her abusive parents. And she loved them like they were her real parents for that.

I guess I’ll never see them again, hope they're doing ok, what happened to my old body anyways?

“Do you want to, Shinwa?” asked Sabo, voice small.

“Yes, people like him don’t deserve to live. I’ve heard what Sam has to say about the Outlooks, they're worse than pirates like Bluejam. Recently they even proposed burning Grey Terminal to “get rid of the trash” before the celestial dragons come for their visit.” Sabo and the others look outraged at that last part.

“What! But so many good people live there, like Uncle Sam and Aunty Grey” Luffy complained.

Sabo considered her words for a while, then said “Do it, after all we’re pirates, and pirates don’t offer mercy to their enemies.” So she did, she took her time with it too. After she was done slashing him up, she took pleasure in seeing his bloodied and soiled corpse laying on the ground. Sabo spat on it, then turned and began running towards the wall. The other quickly followed. She knew things would get rough for a little bit after killing a noble but she was prepared for it, she had been practicing with her devil fruit, and was now able to hold a summon with equal power to her for a minute, though it left her severely fatigued after.

It wasn’t long before the bounty appeared, one of the guards must have snapped a picture of her without them noticing because her bounty had one. The picture was taken mid growl, when she was just about to go in for the kill, her blade raised.

Great, now I’m the second child to have received a bounty. Not as high as Robin’s but high for starting bounty. Hopefully this doesn't cause too many problems.

“Ahh, no fair you got a bounty before me, Shinwa” complained Luffy

“Well of course she got one, she killed a noble.” informed Sabo.

“But I’m the captain so I’m supposed to get one first!”

“Don’t worry I’m sure your bounty will be bigger than mine once we set out” she soothed.

Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Summary:

Time passes

Chapter Text

They stayed out of Goa for a while.

During the time they spent away Shinwa learned that she could make items as they were in her old world, not how she remembered them. Which meant that she could write the title of a book and it would appear, just how it should be. At least she assumed so. Luffy loved this, she could summon books to read and give better details than just what she remembered. This also got Sabo excited, he could read literature that he never read before.

Another thing she learned, items with high monetary value only stayed for so long, for example if she summoned Beli or precious metals and gems they would only stay around for as long as she focused on them. But if she summoned items such as clothes, food, or other more expensive versions of normal items, they lasted for a day, before they poofed. And any time she summoned food if they ate it she could not make it disappear and it would not disappear on its own.

She began stockpiling books, manga, and scripts for shows, movies, and plays. She began selling them not long after, first to people in Grey Terminal. Then in Windmill Village. She quickly became well known for her ability to procure new literature and with her earnings she set up a small stall in Windmill Village.

Another thing that happened was that Grey Terminal never burned. She heard from Sam that after Outlook's brutal murder the other nobles were too afraid to do anything, afraid of backlash from Shinwa. So, when the Celestial Dragons came, there stood the piles of trash that was Grey Terminal. They left the day after, citing a bad smell as their reason for departure. She was fine with that; it just meant things got safer for her and her crew.

Finally, a year after the Celestial Dragons left Shinwa and her brothers reentered Goa. Shinwa wanted to begin selling books there too, and her want for profit finally outdid her fear of capture. Her brothers wanted to go shopping for a hat for Ace and see if they could find one for Shinwa too.

She entered a bookstore with a sack of different books and manga from her world and went up to the storeowner.

“Hello, do you buy books here?”

“Why yes we do, miss.” said the man behind the counter.

“Great, what will you give me for these?” she said as she began pulling out the books. The man scrutinized the books.

“Why, miss, I’ve never seen any books like these before! The bindings are all top notch and the paper! The grain is so uniform and the lettering is clear. I've never heard of these authors either. Books like these are rare indeed! Where did you find these?”

“Um, I just found them.” She stuttered.

“Right, trade secret then. I’ll buy them for 1,000 each!”

She did some quick math, from what she’d observed thus far 1 Beli was about a Dollar. That meant he would buy them for 1,000 dollars each! And there were nearly 30 books in her sack!

“Deal!” she said taking the money and leaving the books.

I just made triple my bounty by selling some books!

She caught up to her brothers who were fighting over whether Ace should get the red cap or yellow benne. She pointed out the orange cowboy hat in the back, and Ace got stars in his eyes.

“But what about a hat for you Shinwa! We all have hats now; you can't be the only one without one.” Shouted Luffy.

“Hmm, how about this one” holding a black flat-top hat with a small brim in front. It had silver studs in the brim and sides of the hat.

“Yeah!” Luffy shouted.

“That one's cool,” said Sabo.

“Hmph, mine’s cooler” mumbled Ace.

The years passed without incident until the day came that Shinwa was 17.

“I’m going to miss you.” sniffled Luffy clinging to her like the monkey he was.

“I’m just going to be gone for three years, you'll come find me when you set out. Remember I’ll be in Lougetown, the last island before the Grand Line.”

“Ok” he said into her shirt, not letting go.

“Luffy let her go, she needs to leave soon,” said Ace.

“But I want her to stay a little longer, can’t she stay just one more day?”

Shinwa laughed, “No, we all agreed to set out when we turn 17. Next year Ace and Sabo will leave too, are you going to stop them from going on their adventure too?”

“No! They have to go on their adventures! But you're supposed to go on an adventure with me.” he complained.

“I won’t be going on an adventure until you come and find me. I'm just going to be selling books and laying low.” she said, peeling him off of her.

Eventually after many goodbyes and many times peeling a certain monkey off of her, she set out. She was hitching a ride on a trading vessel heading for Lougetown, where she hoped to set up her own bookstore selling the books she made.

Except that didn’t necessarily happen. While they were traveling, they were accosted by some low-level pirates. And when she saw that the sailors of the vessel couldn’t handle them she stepped in. She danced among the pirates, slashing and stabbing as she went, until she had finished off them all. One of the sailors must have put together who she was and reported her because when she made it to Loguetown she found a hoard of marines waiting for her. Which is how she spent the next three years on the run from the marines, and selling her books on each island she stopped on for money.

She quickly became known as Shinwa, the Author and her bounty increased to 15,000 by the time 3 years had passed, but she did make it to Loungetown around the time that Luffy would be arriving.

A Luffy pov.

Chapter Text

Luffy pov

Luffy missed his older siblings. Today he was setting out alone, not even the crew was here. They had disbanded two years before, after Sabo and Ace each took two of the now adult pickpockets on their little dinghies and set out. Grey had taken over what was left of the crew when Luffy resigned, and Sam had stayed with her. So here he was with only Windmill Village for company. Which was fine, but it wasn’t his siblings.

He set sail, punching the Lord of the Coast on his way out.

That’s for Shanks’ arm.

And it wasn’t long before his little boat got caught in a whirlpool. So, he hopped in his barrel and sat there. Bored, he fell asleep. When he woke up it was on a ship, knocking two pirates out on his way out of the barrel. That’s how he met Coby. He was kind of annoying, he couldn't even stand up for himself. But he beat that big lady who was being mean to him anyway. Then he took Coby and a boat and set off once again.

This time he ended up on an island, when he heard about Zoro being on the island he thought, cool he sounds tough he can join my crew. So he went up to the marine base, climbed the walls and told him so.

“Hey if you join my pirate crew I’ll get you down from there” He said cheerily.

“Why would I join a filthy pirate, besides I’ve just got a few more days before they let me go.”

“No you don’t. We overheard that jerk say that he’ll execute you soon.” he said, picking his nose.

“Why should I believe you? Besides, even if you got me down I don’t have my swords.”

“Ok, I'll go get your swords then!” he shouted as he raced off. He slingshot himself up to the top of the base and seeing the brat he took him and ran off down deeper into the base as marines chased after him.

Eventually after running all around the base the butt chin woke up and told him where to go. When he found the room, he saw three swords, shrugged and grabbed them all. Then he leaped out the window where Coby was trying to get Zoro down. Seeing them in danger he quickly got between them and the bullets, letting them bounce back and hit the marines.

“How’d you do that!” exclaimed Zoro.

“Shishishi, I’m a rubber man! See!” he said, stretching his mouth. “And here I didn’t know which ones were yours so I grabbed them all!”

“They're all mine, I use three sword style.” Zoro said as he caught the swords Luffy tossed at him, quickly cutting the rest of the ropes. Together the two of them leapt into battle, Luffy pummeling enemies while Zoro cut them down. When they were done with them and the axe guy they took off to get some food. When the marines said that they wouldn’t turn them in but that they should leave, they got up to do so. And Luffy ensured that Coby wouldn’t be associated with them, then they set off.

“So captain, do you have anyone else in this crew of yours?”

“Yup, my older sister Shinwa! She’s my first mate and she's the best.”

“Well where is she?”

Luffy frowned, “She took off three years ago to sell her books, but she said she would be on the last island before the Grandline.”

They sailed aimlessly for a while before Luffy spotted a bird way up high in the sky. They were hungry, so he stretched up to catch the bird. Maybe they could cook it. Instead he found himself being snatched by a much bigger bird than he thought it was. The bird flew off with him while Zoro tried to keep up with him.

Before long the bird had taken him over an island, and he got the bird to drop him. Right in front of a girl being chased by circus pirates. When he learned that she was a navigator he asked her to join his crew. She agreed after a while, on the condition that he become her prisoner. He shrugged and agreed, he needed a navigator after all.

That's how he ended up in a cage with a giant canon pointed at him.

The girl, Nami was her name, tried to save him but wasn’t getting very far. Then Zoro appeared and helped her fight off the big nose. Though he got stabbed because of big nose’s tricks. Still Zoro dragged off the cage he was in to safety. And when they finally got the key a dog ate it.

It took a while for him to get free after that, a lion smashed through the cage and just like that he was free. He beat up the lion and the funny man, they had destroyed the dog's treasure after all. Then he and Zoro went off to fight the big nose so that Nami could get the map. In the end he blasted a little Buggy off into the sky and went on his merry way.

The next island they stopped at was Syrup Village. There he met a Liar named Usopp and fought a pirate named Kuro. He wasn’t a very good person, after all he tried to kill his nakama, what kind of captain does that?

Maybe I should kill him, after all Shinwa said bad people don’t deserve life.

In the end though he just beat him up and let the villagers take him to the marines. It was better to crush his enemies dreams and leave them wishing they were dead rather than straight up killing them. It was a fate worse than death, at least for him.

Them saving the village and Usopp’s girlfriend, Kaya, earned them a ship. The Going Merry was beautiful, and much better than the tiny boat that he had been going around on. And best of all it had a special seat up front just for him!

In the end they also gained a new crewmember and Usopp gained a first kiss on his farewell. His face was a funny color for a long time after that. Next he decided they needed a cook! Shinwa was good at cooking but even she said herself she wasn’t the best. It wasn’t long before they made their way to the Beratie with their freshly painted flag.

He accidentally redirected a cannon into the ship and ended up as a chore boy. He mostly got yelled at for breaking things though so he wandered off to find a cook. And he found one, Sanji. He was nice enough to feed someone who was starving, so he must be perfect for feeding him, he was always starving. But Sanji refused. He kept asking again and again, and each time the blond would say no. Then one day the man Sanji fed came back with his captain, a broken ship, and a starving crew. Sanji and the old cook agreed to cook for them, even though the others said they shouldn’t. In the end Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji fought Krieg and his men. Meanwhile Nami had run off with the ship and Usopp and the two bounty hunters they had picked up set after them.

He knew Nami would come back, she wasn’t the kind of person to bail, even if she was mean. In the meantime they gained a cook and set off to find Nami. When they got there they found out that Nami was some higher up in another crew, the Arlong Pirates. He didn’t like how he made Nami cry so he beat him up, broke his nose, and destroyed Arlong Park.

The villagers threw a three day party, celebrating their freedom. He spent the three days eating his fill and looking for the elusive raw ham melon. He never found it, instead he found a grave, Nami and the windmill guy standing over it. When Nami left the windmill guy spoke to him.

“You take care of her or you’ll have me to deal with it.”

“Ok!”

“Don’t you dare hurt her!”

“Why would I hurt her, she's my nakama?”

He sighed, “Just be careful, ok?”

“Ok, Nami’s dad!” he left him, laughing, while the windmill guy stammered.

Once again they set off.

“Our next destination is Lougetown, where we’ll stock up before we make our way to the Grandline.” Nami said.

“Ooooo, that's where Shinwa is!” The others looked on, confused, except for Zoro who was too busy sleeping.

“Who’s Shinwa?” asked Nami.

“Shishishi, she's my first mate!”

“I thought Zoro was your first mate.” Nami said.

“Nope!” he replied, popping the p.

“Is she beautiful!” asked Sanji, lovestruck already.

“I don’t know, I never thought of her that way before.”

“Is she scary?” asked Usopp hiding behind Nami.

“Yup, sure is.” he shuddered. “Somehow she always is able to hurt me even when not using her sword.”

“She uses a sword?” spoke up Zoro awakened by the sound of his favorite subject.

“Yeah! She’s really good at it too, though always says she has no idea how to use it.”

“Hmm, can’t wait to fight her then.”

They arrived at Loguetown a few days later.

Chapter Text

Back to Shinwa pov

Shinwa ducked into an alleyway. The marines chasing her ran past and she let out a sigh of relief. She had been on Loungetown for almost two weeks now, wondering when her captain would arrive. She knew it would be soon because they had begun posting his bounty, 30,000 Beli, around all the bars. Now she just needed to find him, without causing a scene.

Maybe I should wait at that bar. Hmm or maybe the plaza? No, too open, the bar it is.

So she wandered the back alleys until she found it, the Gold Rodger Bar. When she entered, she found not Luffy but rather Smoker.

Shit.

She made to turn right around but was stopped by another marine entering after her.

“Sir, we’ve found him, Monkey D. Luffy, he’s causing a scene at the plaza.” He paused looking at her, “Um, also Shinwa the Author is here.”

“Well of course she is, we’ve known that for weeks, marine where is your head today?” Smoker growled.

“Um, sorry sir. I mean she's right here.” Smoker quickly turned around, and Shinwa bolted.

“Well, don’t just stand there marine, grab her!”

“Yes sir!” shouted the marine and chased after her.

Great, I missed him, time to go to the plaza then.

By the time she had lost the marine, along with the backup he called in, and made it to the plaza, Luffy was already atop it. Buggy the Clown stood over him, sword raised. Her heart froze, she knew Luffy would get out alive, but still, her precious little brother was in danger. She quickly pulled out her writing materials and wrote down ‘Dragon calls lighting now’ knowing that Luffy’s father was already going to free him, she was just spreading up the process. The clouds that had been gathering already, quickly formed together, and lightning struck the execution stand, Zoro and Sanji hadn’t even made it to the plaza yet. She felt a bit of her strength leave her as the words she wrote took action. At the same time that lightning struck, Smoker spotted her.

“There she is! Men capture Shinwa the Author, Monkey D. Luffy, Buggy the Clown, and Iron Club Alvida immediately!”

That's her cue to get out of here. She quickly summoned up a pegasus and hopped on. She and the pegasus swooped down to Luffy, where he was climbing out of the wreckage, and stopped in front of him.

“Captain, get on!” Just then Zoro and Sanji arrived and began making their way through the crowd of marines, citizens, and pirates. When they arrived, they stood in awe of the mythical creature in front of them.

“Get a move on, I can only summon one at a time so you're on your own.” she called down as she took off on the pegasus, Luffy whooping behind her.

“My, you're so beautiful, miss!” Sanji swooned.

Zoro knocked him on the head with his fist, “Come on, she's got the captain, let's move stupid curlybrow!”

After a while she could feel her hold on the pegasus slipping so she sat down on the ground next to where Zoro and Sanji were running along beneath them.

“Thank you, pegasus.” She told her summon as she dismissed it. She and Luffy began running next to Zoro and Sanji.

“Who’s this, then?” said Zoro.

“Shishishi, this is Shinwa!”

“Ahh, so this is our beautiful first mate!” Sanji swooned, hearts in his eyes.

“You flatter me so, fine gentleman” Shinwa replied. Sanji got all wiggly. Before he could reply they came upon Tashigi.

“Roronoa Zoro! You lied to me.” shouted the swordswoman.

“Hey Mosshead, why’d you lie to a beautiful woman like her!” shouted Sanji.

“I didn’t lie to you; I just never told you who I am.” asserted the swordsman.

Tashigi drew her sword, and Zoro drew his three. “I’ll hold her off, you three go ahead.”

And so, the three of them raced ahead. It wasn’t long before Smoker caught up with them.

“Monkey D. Luffy, Shinwa the Author, tonight the two of you shall be captured and pay for your sins.” Smoker said.

Shinwa drew her sword, “Let me handle this, Captain.”

“Shishishi, are you sure, he looks strong.”

“I’m strong too, remember?” she said as she charged into battle. It was a good thing she had thought to train her armament haki in the years since she got her bounty. It was still weak but enough to give her an edge against a logia type. She willed what armament she had onto Surudoi Kaze, still invisible, not yet black, but enough for now. She swung at Smoker, making sure to keep this battle non-lethal, he would be needed later. Smoker stumbled back in surprise when her attack didn’t go through him as he turned to smoke.

“How, how do you have armament in a backwater blue like this?”

She grinned “I have one tough grandfather and three annoying brothers, one of which is made of rubber. I had to learn eventually.”

They clashed again, jitte versus katana. He kept trying to get her with the seastone encrusted tip of his weapon, which was annoying. Eventually she got tired of blocking or dodging and decided to get out her paper, she quickly wrote down ‘Smoker’s jitte gets heavy’ and watched as the ink peeled off. She had learned long ago that while she couldn’t bend an enemy's will, she could bend their weapons.

She watched amused as he tried in vain to lift his weapon from the ground, he could barely get it a foot in the air before he gave up and came at her with his fists. This time she just ran off, leaving him fuming as he chased after her. As she ran, she saw that Luffy was waiting for her, the rest on the boat already.

She ran into his waiting arms and screeched as he slingshot them to the Going Merry. When they landed she just layed there for a while, the rest of the crew scrambling around her, following Nami's shouted commands in the storm, preparing for the gust she felt coming.

She finally got up and stood at the railing, staring out at Monkey D. Dragon as he stood, sending out his son with his blessing. She smiled and held on as the gust sent the Going Merry out to sea.

Chapter Text

She stood at the railing for a while after, even as the pouring rain made her shiver. The crew worked around her for a while before they were called in for dinner.

Finally, she left the railing, when Sanji called for her.

“Shinwa, dinner is ready if you want to join us.”

She nodded and entered the galley, finding a spot to the right of her captain. And it hit her, she had joined this crew, and as the first mate to boot.  The crew began asking her questions as they ate.

“How do you know Luffy?” Nami asked.

“Grew up together,” Shinwa said around a bite of meat.

“Do you know how to use that sword of yours?” Zoro asked, always looking for a good fight.

“Don’t talk to a lady like that, stupid marimo” Sanji called.

“Hmm, tough question to answer, my body does but my brain doesn't. If that makes sense.” she replied. “Though I’m sure I could put up quite the fight if you'd like.” she said more flirtatious than challenging. She couldn’t help it. Zoro had always been her favorite character. Not just because of his character, she also thought he was quite hot.

“Sure would love to see that.” He said oblivious to her advances. Shinwa pouted just a little, while Sanji glared at Zoro.

“Do you have any romantic partners?” Usopp asked, looking between her and Zoro.

“No, but there are some people I know who could fill that role if they wanted.” She replied, a little put out at Zoro’s oblivious rejection. “If Luffy weren’t my little brother I would have scooped him up by now.” This time Sanji turned to glare at Luffy.

“Luffy’s your little brother?” Nami asked.

“Shishishi, yeah! She’s my oldest sibling.”

Nami rounded on Luffy, “You have a family, why haven't you told us about them.” She said, shaking his shoulders while he just giggled, stretching over to her plate to steal some of her unattended food.

“Well, Shinwa dear, what is your family like then.”

She paused to consider, “Well my birth family were abusers, and my real family were the people who rescued me from them. Right now, my family consists of Luffy and my other two younger brothers. And my cousins." she said slowly.

“You were abused?!” shouted Luffy. “Where are they? I need to beat them up right now.” he said, rotating his fist.

“It was a long time ago and they're very far away now, so calm down.”

“Hmph.”

“Well, Shinwa dear, do you have any food restrictions that I need to know about?” asked Sanji.

“Oh, no nothing like that.”

“Do you have a devil fruit, by the way. I saw that you summoned a pegasus before.”

“Oh yes, handsome,” Sanji swooned. “I ate the write write fruit. Its a fruit that lets me summon things or change things based on what I write. For example,” she got out a piece of paper and wrote ‘candy’ and a piece of chocolate covered caramel appeared, “items. Or I summon animals and fictional people.”

“Can you summon money!” Nami asked, Beli in her eyes. So, she wrote ‘ten thousand Beli’ watching as the pile of money appeared around Nami, who let out a squeal of joy.

“Though it only lasts for as long as I’m thinking about it” she said, letting it disappear. Nami let out a sound of despair.

“What about foodstuffs?” Sanji asked excitedly.

“Well yes, mundane items I can summon, and they last forever, until I dismiss it, or until I touch seastone or get in sea water. So,” she quickly wrote down ‘potatoes’ and five potatoes appeared, “I can make simple ingredients appear and they will stay around, but ingredients with high monetary value, like caviar or wagyu steak, will disappear after an hour or two.”

“How is that useful in a fight?” Zoro asked.

“Brute!” Sanji yelled at him.

“Well, did I mention I can summon people? I can summon a fighter as strong as myself for 5 minutes and continue fighting myself. Or I can summon a fighter stronger than myself for varying time but lose the ability to do much more than stand or sit. Or I can also make allies stronger or make enemy weapons useless. For example,” she wrote ‘Zoro’s swords get dull’ “check your swords.”

He did and promptly freaked out. “What did you do to my swords witch!”

Shinwa cackled, “Made them dull!” she said finishing her plate and promptly stood up and ran out the galley, Zoro following not long after cursing her out, Sanji cursing at him as he left.

That night she slept in the girls' quarters with Nami.

The next morning at breakfast she continued to flirt and play fight with Zoro, and a little bit with Sanji. She found both of them equally attractive so why not go for both. Though secretly she wished for them to get together, she was always a fan of ZoSan fics.

A few days passed in playful banter before they ended up in the Calm Belt. Of course, their navigator freaked out, and she freaked out right along with her.

“Quick, Shinwa, summon some wind and get us the hell out of here!” shrieked Nami.

“I can’t summon wind!” She shrieked back.

“Then help the boys row! You've got plenty of muscle on you!” She yelled and Shinwa quickly hopped to it. Only for a Sea king to rise up beneath them.

She shuddered at the size of the thing, to think that there were people out there that could kill one of these things. Several more appeared around them. And she and the others went stock still. Then the one under them sneezed.

They went flying. Soaring far enough to reach the storm once again. Even though they had made it to safety they still rowed further into the storm. It wasn’t until they couldn’t see the Sea Kings that they finally let up. They all let out a collective sigh of relief, while Luffy giggled like it was a fun game.

Nami and Shinwa both hit him over the head at the same time.

Notes:

Yes, I plan for there to be some romance in this fic.

Chapter 11

Summary:

Laboon.

Chapter Text

The Going Merry slowly made its way towards Reverse Mountain.

Nami warned them that they had to be in the exact middle of the current if they wanted to make it up the canal. They were off.

While the ship was headed up the canal, it was off, and they were bound to hit the side, causing some serious damage to their floating nakama.

Luckily Shinwa had an idea, she grabbed hold of one of Luffy’s arms, told him to inflate, and kicked him off the ship, all without telling him her idea. His inflated body prevented the Going Merry from hitting the side of the canal, though her captain did come back grumbling from the strain and surprise.

As they made their way up the mountain Sanji got out a barrel and kicked his foot up on top of it.

“To find the All Blue” he said, initiating the legendary scene.

“To become King of the Pirates!” Luffy shouted.

“The world's best swordsman.” Zoro contributed.

“To draw a map of the entire world,” said Nami.

“To become a brave Warrior of the Sea.” declared Usopp.

Shinwa grinned and said, “To tell the best stories!”

They all lifted up their feet and brought down on the barrel, shattering it.

Then they reached the top, flying up and then promptly falling back down.

They raced down the side of Reverse Mountain, heading straight for the Grandline. And Laboon.

Shit, forgot about the whale.

“We need to slow down!” She shouted over the wind.

“What, why?” Nami called.

“Yeah why, Shinwa, this is fun!” Luffy also called.

Just then they heard the first whale call.

“There’s a giant whale at the bottom of the mountain!” Shinwa yelled.

“What whale?” called Zoro.

“Just trust me, there's a whale!”

Laboon continued to howl at the mountain. But the crew hopped to and began slowing the ship down. It was just enough that they just barely managed not to hit Laboon, saving Luffy’s precious seat.

“Yaaahoooo, that was fun!” cheered Luffy. While the others all groaned on the floor.

“Let's fight the whale now!” shouted Luffy.

“What! NO!” shouted the crew, they all got up to hold their captain, but it was too late. He had already punched the whale in the eye.

They all stood there in shock as the absolutely humongous whale opened its mouth.

Luffy quickly grabbed hold of Shinwa then got out of the way, meanwhile the rest of the crew screamed as they were swallowed.

Luffy and Shinwa landed atop Laboon as he began to sink below the waves. She looked around, wasn’t there supposed to be a hatch around here. But it was nowhere to be seen, and the waves were quickly reaching towards the two devil fruit users.

Shit, time to pull one out my ass, I guess.

She quickly wrote down ‘hatch that leads inside Laboon’ watched as the words peeled off, and quickly pulled Luffy in. She sighed in relief as the hatch closed behind them, watching as the hatch dissipated as it met the sea water and the words reappeared on her paper.

Luffy and her picked a direction and walked in it. Traveling inside the giant whale was strange, they kept hearing weird, distorted sounds, Luffy laughing at them every time. Until suddenly they were sent flying, presumably as Laboon hit the Red Line.

Luffy wrapped his body around her to absorb the impact as they were sent flying all the way down the canal inside the whale. They ended up hitting two other people and were sent flying through the hatch at the end of the canal. They landed in the whale's stomach acid.

And for the first time in her life, Shinwa felt the effects of sea water on her body. Let's just say it both sucked and felt good at the same time. For one her body immediately relaxed, like instead of acid she was sinking in, it was a huge massage chair of some sort. One the other hand her brain was freaking out, she could barely move, which meant she couldn’t swim, which meant unless someone rescued her she was going to drown. She could feel panic welling up in her body, making matters worse. Her brain instinctively opened her mouth to begin her breathing techniques, which was not a very good idea under water. She felt the water enter her lungs and she blacked out.

When she woke up it was back on the Merry, Sanji having resuscitated her. And she immediately coughed up all the stomach acid she had inhaled.

Not the best way to react to her first kiss, especially with Sanji, she thought in the back of her mind.

“Oh, Shinwa dear, are you ok?” the cook worried over her.

“Never better, love” She tried her best to flirt, but it probably didn’t have the effect she would have wanted, what with her throat raw.

Nevertheless, he got hearts in his eyes as he began wiggling in that way that he did around her.

“I’ll go get a refreshing drink for your throat, Shinwa dear.” as he wiggled away to the kitchen.

“Tch, stupid love cook.” Zoro mumbled.

She looked over at him and said, “Oh please, you know you love him.” rolling her eyes.

The swordsman turned red and fumbled over his retort. “Wha-, The hell you mean I love him!”

She snickered, “I just meant as nakama, but based on the way you're blushing it's evident that you love him in other ways too.”

“Yeah well-” just then Sanji had returned and kicked him in the head, in his hand was a platter of refreshing drinks for the crew.

“Stupid marimo, don’t speak that way to a lady!” He walked over to Shinwa, handing her a drink, she said thank you before, he headed over to Nami, then the rest of the crew leaving Zoro for last.

They made it out of the whale as Crocus finished up his sad story of Laboon and the Rumbar pirates.

That night as they partied, Shinwa watched Luffy carefully. When he disappeared to break the mast and fight Laboon with it, she followed.

“Luffy, what do you think you're doing.”

He looked over at her guiltily from where he stood gripping the main mast. “Umm, fighting Laboon. Before you get mad, he looks like he could use a good fight!” He quickly explained himself.

“Uh-huh, and what are you doing with our main mast, if you're planning on breaking it you better not, you need to treat your wooden nakama with care.”

“Um, no I wasn’t” he said slowly as he took his hands off the mast.

She sighed, grabbed him by the check and dragged him off the ship, bringing him to an open area, before writing down ‘giant tree’ and told him, “Here will this work for your idea?”

He nodded rubbing at his check where she had gripped it. “Yeah! Thanks, big sis!” he said as he grabbed hold of the tree and ran off towards Laboon.

In the end the tree ended up planted in Laboon’s head before they tousled back and forth.

“It’s a draw” her idiot captain called. And in the end Laboon ended up with a bad rendition of the Strawhat flag and a promise for the crew to come back one day to fight again.

Summary:

Whiskey Peak.

Couldn't sleep so I'm writing, so you get an extra chapter(s?) today.

Chapter Text

“So how did you know that there was a whale at the bottom of the mountain?” asked Zoro around a bottle of sake.

Uh-oh, looks like I’ve been caught.

She considered her answer for a while, she could just lie and say it was a gut feeling, or she could go with observation haki, but that would raise even more questions. Or she could just tell the truth.

But the truth was dangerous wasn’t it, if the World Government found out about it, she would be hunted down. But at the same time, it didn’t feel right to lie to her new nakama, especially Luffy.

“That is something I can only answer with everyone here and in a safe location.”

“Hmm, ok I'll wait then.”

The next morning found them taking Miss Wednesday and Mr. Nine aboard the ship to give them a ride to their home island of Whiskey Peak. Of course this was a trap set up by Baroque Works, but she couldn’t really do anything about it without revealing her secret in a non-secretive way. And because of their passengers she waited to reveal said secret.

She fell into an easy schedule during the time it took to get to Whiskey Peak. She would wake up an hour before Sanji served breakfast. During which she would flirt with Sanji and Zoro while keeping Luffy’s hands away from her meal, Sanji responded with enthusiasm while Zoro was oblivious to the fact that she was flirting and instead responded to it like it was a challenge. She and Zoro got into fights almost as often as him and Sanji because of this. But that was fine, at least she got some form of attention from him. After breakfast she would train side by side with Zoro, both of them lifting weights and doing exercises. Then they would break for lunch and she would flirt again. After their lunch Zoro and her would spar.

The first spar took an hour. Zoro would attack and then Shinwa would parry, following her instincts. Then Shinwa would attack and Zoro would parry. It went on and on like that until they were both covered in sweat and exhausted. They were evenly matched in swordsmanship. Though she had a feeling that if she were to use her devil fruit she would win.

After their spar she had a watch. During her watch she would practice her observation haki, she had very little right now, just enough to feel big things around her, like the floor or trees. But she would get better, she needed to get better, especially with all the fights coming up. After her watch it was dinner time.

During dinner she would again flirt, but also talk to her other nakama, dinner was a longer affair, so she had more time to do so. She would talk literature with Nami, indulge in Usopp's grand stories, and tell a few of her own, slip Luffy food under the table, talk swords with Zoro, and share cooking advice from her experience with Sanji. All while summoning things with her fruit to entertain or amaze them. After dinner she would stay in the kitchen with Sanji and help with his food preparations for the next day. Sanji had heard from Luffy that she could cook and that along with her ability to summon ingredients and spices she was enlisted for that duty. After that they would all, except for whoever was on watch, play games. Then she would bathe, unlike some others she could mention, and go to bed.

It was during her watch a few days after they left Reverse Mountain that she spotted the cactus rocks of Whiskey Peak.

“Land ahead!” She called. And it wasn’t long before they’d reached the island. When she looked down, she saw Miss Wednesday and Mr. Nine swimming away towards the island. She shrugged, they would run into them again.

As they pulled up to the docks of the island's village they heard cheering, and she shared a look with Zoro. Good he noticed it too, the way the crowd held themselves, like they were either used to fighting, or hiding weapons.

However, it wasn’t long before they were partying. Luffy was overindulging in food, swelling up like a balloon. Sanji was indulging in the island's women, his nose flaring and hearts in his eyes. Usopp was reveling in the attention they gave his stories. Zoro and Nami were drinking. And she was busying herself flirting with men and women alike. Before long Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp were asleep, while Zoro and Nami pretended to. She let herself be escorted to a secluded room with one of the men she had flirted with.

Once they were far enough away, she knocked the man out with the back of Surudoi Kaze, and snuck away. She met Zoro outside and nodded at him. While he climbed to the roof of the building they were partying in, she snuck around behind the crowd of enemies.

When Zoro made his dramatic entrance and began attacking, she began attacking from behind. Together they made a good team, taking down the millions, then the numbers, though she made sure both Vivi and Igram received as little damage as possible. When they asked both Zoro and her for help with their plight against Baroque Works, Nami appeared. Together the two of them got Zoro to agree.

“I’ll take off some of your debt if you go along with it, after all think of all the Beli we could earn for saving a country!”

“What debt! I gave you back all the money I borrowed!”

“Yes, but you didn’t give me the 300% interest!”

“Witch!”

Shinwa snickered, “Marimo, I’ll help you pay back the rest of the interest if you agree.”

“Wha- Hey only Sanji can call me that, second witch!”

Both Nami and Shinwa laughed at that.

“Oh really, does that mean you two have pet names for each other, what's next hand holding, kissing?” Shinwa giggled.

That shut Zoro up, his face red and ears steaming while he stammered wordlessly.

Chapter Text

Miss Valentine and Mr. Five showed up before long and began attacking the 5 of them. Nami ran, Vivi and Carue tried to get away while Igram tried to hold off the two of them. He didn’t last long, being blasted down before Zoro and Shinwa could intervene. As they made to attack the pair an angry Luffy arrived.

“ZORO! SHINWA! Why did you attack these people that fed us!” He shouted before going on the offensive.

Zoro tried to block the attacks, while Shinwa just stood there for a second. Then she walked right up to the distracted Luffy, infused as much haki as she could manage into her fist, and hit him over the head.

“Hey that hurt! Why’d you do that Shinwa!” he complained, rubbing his head.

“Well perhaps if you asked us what was going on instead of just attacking us I wouldn’t have.”

Luffy grumbled “Well then, why’d you attack the nice people.”

“Because they were trying to turn us in for money or kill us, their bounty hunters.”

“Oh” he said, hitting his fist against his hand. “Shishishi, why didn’t you wake me up then!”

Before they could reply, Miss Valentine and Mr. Five attacked again. Zoro cut the flying booger with one of his swords while Shinwa slashed at the rising Miss Valentine.

“Ugh, I can’t believe I just cut a booger with my sword.”

“That doesn't matter right now, we need to check on Vivi!” Shinwa said.

“Who’s Vivi?” asked Luffy as he ran beside them towards where Vivi fled.

“She’s a princess that those two witches agreed to help.”

“Oh ok, sounds fun!”

They arrived at where Vivi was and found her unharmed, and somehow Igram had caught up to her and was talking to her.

In the end Igram disguised himself as Vivi while he sailed away, only to be blown up. The crew quickly grabbed Sanji and Usopp and got on the Going Merry, sailing away. They eventually explained the situation to everyone.

“I’m just glad we got away,” said Sanji.

“Yes, so am I.” said Robin.

Suddenly everyone was on guard.

“That's Ms. All Sunday! The partner of Mr. Zero, Crocodile!” gasped Vivi.

“Yes, Nico Robin at your service.” she replied, tossing the gun out of Sanji’s hand and Luffy’s straw hat towards her.

Shinwa drew her sword, “Get off our boat!” she called, she had no intention of harming her but for now she needed to pretend she did.

“And here I was about to offer some help” she tossed an eternal pose at Nami, who caught it.

“That will lead you to a safe island, completely circumventing Little Garden, which is extremely dangerous.”

Luffy went up and smashed it, “No thanks, I decide where this ship goes!”

Robin tossed the hat back and said “Farewell then” as she hopped off the ship and onto her turtle.

After that their days went on as normal, this time including Vivi. It wasn’t long before Zoro confronted her at dinner one day.

“So, you gonna tell us how you know things ahead of time?” Zoro said randomly.

She spat out her water and choked on what was left of it in her throat.

Everyone looked at her, though Vivi looked a little confused.

“Yeah, how did you know that the whale would be there?” asked Nami.

“And you seemed to know that Whiskey Peak was dangerous before we even got there.” Added Usopp.

“Um, well about that, I kinda sorta know parts of the future, following a certain set of circumstances.” she said out of breath.

“Oh, so that's how you knew Sabo’s dad would look for him,” said Luffy.

“Do you know what Little Garden will be like?” Nami asked.

“No spoilers!” shouted Luffy before she could even think to answer.

“But-”

“No spoilers! I want to experience my adventure for myself, its ok if Shinwa is prepared, but I don’t want to be!” He shouted.

Nami looked at her exasperated

“You guys are taking this better than I expected,” Shinwa said.

“Well, we've already witnessed strange things on the Grandline and I'm sure we’ll experience stranger things than you knowing the future, Shinwa dear.” Sanji replied for them.

“Ok but I thought you would at least freak out a little bit.”

They shrugged.

“Ok, well I hope you all understand that this can’t leave the ship” she said.

“Why?” Luffy asked.

“It will garner too much attention from the World Government, and there are a lot of dangerous people that are a part of it that we can’t handle yet.”

“Ok!” Luffy said, “It's a secret then!”

The rest of the table agreed.

She sighed in gratitude and went back to dinner.

“Can we ask Shinwa dear questions that don’t pertain to the adventure part of the future?” Sanji asked their captain.

“Depends on what you want to ask” he said, reaching for more food.

“Do I ever get in a relationship!”

“That’s an ok question” said Luffy.

“Hmm, sorry to say in the version of the future I know, no. But that could change now that I'm here” she ended flirtatiously.

Sanji swooned “Really you would be interested in dating me?” he asked excitedly.

“Yes, I thought that was obvious.”

“Oh” said Sanji in a small voice, blushing furiously. “Well then can I kiss you?”

“Sure” She got up and pulled him towards her by his tie and kissed him.

He passed out, hearts in his eyes and a bit of blood in his nose.

Chapter 14: Chapter 14

Summary:

Little garden

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

They’d reached Little Garden.

Shinwa walked up to Zoro and Sanji who were bickering over who could kill the biggest creature and said “Loves, I could probably bring one down bigger than both of yours combined.”

While Sanji swooned at the sight of his newly acquired girlfriend, Zoro huffed and said, “Oh yeah, well let's just see about that!” He pointed at the volcano’s off in the distance, “The next time one of those goes off, we come back with our biggest kill and see who's right.”

“Yeah alright, sounds good to me,” Sanji said, regaining his composure.

They each set off in different directions.

Alright time to find Mr. 3 and then kill a long neck if I run into one.

The jungle of Little Garden sucked. She grew up in a jungle, well at least the second time she grew up, but this one was much worse. For one it was filled with hungry dinosaurs, exotic plants and bugs. For two it was where Nami caught Kestia, so even the littlest thing here was deadly. Which meant her head was on a swivel for not only huge dinosaurs, but little bugs.

Eventually she found a huge, long neck, and she drew Surudoi Kaze, she would prove that she was stronger than Sanji and Zoro. She summoned a version of Eric who was about equally powered to her, her go to in situations that called for battle, and began to attack the dinosaur.

With Eric launching her into the air she was able to fly up above the dinosaur and landed her sword into the long neck's eye. The dinosaur roared, almost deafening her, and swung its neck to shake her off. Thankfully she kept her grip on Surudoi Kaze, which was stuck deep into the dinosaur’s skull. She managed to pull her sword from the eye with a wet squelch just as Eric managed to get up to the head. Together they plunged their swords into its skull, piercing its brain in three different places, killing it.

The dinosaur fell to the ground, causing heavy vibrations throughout the jungle, but the vibrations didn’t stop after. She looked up and saw a giant making its way towards her. It was Dorry, Luffy and Vivi on his shoulder while he dragged an even larger long neck behind him.

“Gegyagegyagegya, little human is strong to have taken down a long neck!” he boomed.

“Shishishi, hi Shinwa that's so cool that you took one down, I tried but got swallowed instead!”

“I had help!” she shouted up pointing at her summoned Eric.

“I could use some help carrying it back to my ship, if you're willing to help, I’m sure I could scrounge up some good drinks in return” She called up to the giant.

“Gegyagegyagegya, sure I would love some drinks with this meat! Lead the way, little one!”

So, Dorry dragged the kill back to the Merry, just in time to meet Sanji and Zoro with their kills.

“Hahahaha, I told you I could kill something bigger than both of yours combined!” She bragged seeing that while they had taken down huge dinosaurs hers was nearly three times as big.

They both gaped at the size of the long neck, as well as the giant holding it.

“Gegyagegyagegya, a hunting competition, eh? Brings back old memories.” He boomed, “Well little human where is the booze you promised me?”

“Bring me to your place and I can summon it there.” This way they would avoid the sabotaged booze that Mr. Five left for them.

“A devil fruit, eh?”

He brought her, Zoro, Luffy, and Vivi back to where he stayed while Sanji stayed back to begin cutting up the meat and wrapping the best cuts. There was too much to save it all.

When they arrived, she hopped down off the shoulder of the giant and wrote ‘A lot of sake’ and sighed as the energy left her. A pile of barrels of sake appeared, Dorry and Zoro both reached for one.

Zoro ended up drinking a whole barrel, straight from the barrel she might add, and Dorry drank fifteen.

“Gegyagegyagegya, quite the handy devil fruit there, and you little swordsman you can sure put away your drink for one so little!”

They both grunted in response.

It wasn’t long before the volcano erupted and Dorry got up, this time unharmed, to go fight Brogy. Luffy got up and raced after him to watch the fight, giggling the whole way. The rest of them shrugged and got up to follow after their wayward captain.

The fight was evenly matched until Mr. Five made a direct surprise attack against Brogy, sending a huge explosion towards his head. He must have used a lot of boogers for that one, she thought in the back of her head as she watched in shock as Brogy fell to the ground.

Dorry wailed in grief but before he could do anything he tripped on a large piece of wax from Mr. Three. He fell to the ground and Mr. Three quickly wrapped his hands and feet in hardened wax, doing the same for Brogy.

The crew charged towards the two of them and their partners, and that's when she felt a sting at her ankle. She looked down at her ankle, there was a snake, its fangs sunk into her ankle, pumping its venom into her.

She bent down and pulled it off and stomped its head with her other foot.

There, dead. Hopefully this bite won’t cause too much of an issue, but there isn’t much I can do for it.

She shrugged and continued her charge towards the Baroque Works agents. She summoned Eric again as she reached the four of them, then drew her sword.

Before she could react, Ms. Goldenweek had splashed green paint on her and Luffy, and the world mellowed out. Eric stopping as she did so, without her to command him he was just kinda there.

She watched as Zoro, Nami, and Vivi were restrained by wax and Usopp retreated into the forest. No Sanji in sight, hopefully that meant he was having a chat with Crocodile as Mr. Prince.

But that didn’t matter much to her right now for some reason. All that mattered was the tea in front of her, and Luffy and Ms. Goldenweek beside her.

In the back of her head, she panicked as Mr. Three built his cake with Zoro, Nami, and Vivi as candles. But for some reason she couldn’t bring herself to care.

Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Summary:

Shinwa gets sick.

Chapter Text

As she sat at a picnic blanket, Luffy beside her, she could feel her ankle begin to swell. But that didn’t matter much to her, not when there was tea and crackers this delicious.

Wait, she hated tea, why was she drinking it?

Oh, well.

She could feel her body beginning to tremble, likely from whatever venom she had running though her system.

It wasn’t long though before Usopp shot some of his own paint at them, disrupting the green paint on them.

Before Ms. Goldenweek could react, she drew her sword once again and had her sword at the agent's neck.

“Please, never do that again, I hate tea.” she said, shivering.

She kept her sword there while her captain went after Mr. Three. In the meantime, Usopp spread some sort of flammable all over, then set it on fire.

In an instant both the giants and her three friends were free, saving them just in time before they were completely covered in the wax drifting down from the sky.

With Zoro released it wasn’t long before all the agents were defeated.

She knocked out Ms. Goldenweek with the back of her hilt and began writing. First, she summoned some rope to keep the four unconscious devil fruit users contained, unfortunately she could not summon seastone shackles else she would have. Next, she summoned up some new clothes to replace those ruined by the fire. That way no one would get bitten.

Well except for her, but she was already bitten by that snake so there was nothing she could do.

Just as she finished, Sanji came out of the jungle.

“Shinwa-love, Nami-swan!” he yelled as he saw them.

“Where the hell have you been, shity cook!” called Zoro.

“Who you calling shity, you shity swordsman!”

They both stood forehead to forehead while shouting insults at each other.

“Oh, just kiss and tell each other you love each other already!” she catcalled.

Oops, meant to keep that one inside.

The two of them looked over at her, both confused and angry.

“The hell you talking about, witch!” Zoro said.

“Yeah, the only one I have love for is you lovely ladies!”

She rolled her eyes, better to just go with the flow then.

“Well with how often you get so close, and how you talk about each other clearly there's something going on.” She said, defending herself, “And Sanji love, I'm all for it! I myself am poly so I see no reason to get upset if my boyfriend is too.”

Sanji swooned, then glared at Zoro while he just stood there slightly blushing.

“Why are you blushing, idiot marimo!” called Sanji.

He rubbed his face as if to disperse the blush and said, “I’m not blushing, you are, love cook!”

They kept arguing as they walked back to the Going Merry, and Shinwa could barely walk straight anymore.

Sanji noticed before long, “What's wrong, Shinwa love?” he asked, concerned, when she nearly ran into a tree for the tenth time.

“Mmm, snake bit me, I feel a bit dizzy, seeing double, can’t stop shaking, and I think I’m developing a fever. At least Nami didn’t get bit by that stupid bug though, so all is good.” she paused, considering what she said, “Oops, said a thought out loud again.”

“I’ll carry you back to the ship then you can get rest!” He said gallantly, then scooped her up before she could protest.

She passed out as he ran back to the ship.

When she woke up again, she was in the girls' quarters, someone who must have been Luffy clung to her. She could tell because his arms were wrapped around her three times. She could hear the crew talking around her, but when she opened her eyes, she couldn’t see properly. Everything was blurry, and a large portion of her vision was cloudy white.

“Am I going blind?” she said, meaning for it to be a thought.

“Shinwa love, you're awake!” Sanji yelled, overjoyed.

“What's happening, you said you can’t see?” asked Luffy.

“Uh-huh, everything is cloudy, and I feel paralyzed.” she said as she tried sitting up and didn’t move an inch.

“That’s not good.” Said Nami.

Her energy was fading, and she fell asleep before she could hear what anyone said next.

The next time she woke up it was cold. She was being carried on the back of someone. That someone must of been Sanji because she could smell his signature cigarette smoke. She snuggled into her boyfriend, trying to get warm, and fell back asleep.

This time when she woke up it was in a warm bed, one unfamiliar. She could move and see again so she must have made it to Doctor Kureha’s. She sat up and looked around. She spotted Chopper and smiled at the sight of the cute reindeer. He hid behind the doorframe, but facing the wrong direction.

“Sweety, you're facing the wrong direction.” She said calmly.

He turned around slowly. Then slowly said, “The anti-venom should have kicked in by now are you feeling better?”

“Yes, thank you.”

Just then Luffy barged in.

“Shinwa you're awake!” He yelled and charged up to her, wrapping his arms around her multiple times. Then turned around at the sound of a beaker crashing to the floor after Chopper knocked it down.

“MEAT!” he yelled.

Before he could unwrap himself and chase after poor Chopper, she freed her fist and knocked him on the head.

“Don’t you dare!” she yelled at him.

“Aw, but I wanted to play!”

“It's not playing, it's terrorizing a cute little deer!”

Chopper paused in the middle of sneaking out, “Aw, that doesn’t make me happy you bastard!" he said doing his little wiggle dance.

“See cute little deer, and one who I’m sure helped heal me, so don’t be mean to him, instead ask him politely if he would like to play.”

Luffy pouted, then bowed his head and said, “Will you please play with me, supper cool reindeer?”

Chopper sniffed the air, “Play? Play what?”

“Tag!” Luffy yelled.

“Sure!”

And the two raced off.

Chapter 16: Chapter 16

Summary:

Drum Island

Notes:

Here's yesterday's chapter

Chapter Text

Doctor Kureha walked in after they left.

“You sure know how to treat kids.”

“That’s what happens when you raise three little brothers, each with their own issues.” Thinking back fondly of her little captain, little Sabo, and little Ace.

“Hah, I guess so!” she cackled, “Now how about you tell me how you're going to pay me, Shinwa the Author.”

“Hmm, what would you like, I can get you pretty much anything besides money.”

“You don’t have money? And yet you say you can get me anything. What kind of offer is that?”

“I have a devil fruit, one that can be used to summon supplies, including rare herbs that you might not have in your own supply.”

“Hah, really? Prove it!”

“Well then get me a book with pictures or sketches of the herbs you want and I can summon them!”

Doctor Kureha grabbed a book off of the shelf in the room, flipped to a page and handed it to her.

“Here summon this, it only grows in the New World and never gets imported down this far in the Grandline. Even just one would pay for you and your friends' expenses.”

“Hmm, does it have a high monetary value where it's from, or just here?”

“Just here.”

“Ok” she wrote down the name of the herb and watched the words peel off. She didn’t feel the weight of it being a high monetary value item, so after she summoned one, she summoned four more. “Have more on the house, after all I know, they’ll be used to help people. Though do be warned they will disappear the next time I get in sea water, or touch seastone.”

“That’s fine” she said with a little wonder in her tone. She cleared her throat, “Yes, that's fine, I could use this right away anyways. You and your crewmates tab is paid for.”

The doctor then walked away, presumably to go and process the rare herbs. And Sanji walked after her.

“Shinwa-love, are you alright?”

“Yes, love, but are you alright, you didn’t break your back, did you?”

“How did you know?”

“I know parts of the future, remember?”

“Oh, yes.” He shifted a bit uncomfortably, “Do you know abou-”

Luffy and Chopper barged in; this time Chopper was chasing Luffy.

Luffy stopped “Shinwa, Sanji! You should play tag with us!”

Chopper tagged him once he stopped.

“Wah, no I got tagged!”

“No, you too can not be running around, Shinwa’s paralysis is still wearing off, and Sanji just got done with a major surgery on his back!”

“Aw, no fair.” He said, scuffing his sandal against the floor.

Then they heard a boom, presumably as Wapol and his goons made it to the top and started wreaking havoc.

“What about fighting a terrible excuse for a king?” Shinwa asked.

“What, what king?” Chopper asked, hiding behind Luffy.

Huh, guess they made friends fast.

“Let's go see!” shouted Luffy, dragging the three of them behind him.

When they arrived, they found Wapol and Doctor Kureha arguing.

“Docterine what's going on!”

“Chopper! Take the patients back inside, I can handle this.”

“No! I want to fight!” shouted Luffy, “And I need my crew with me!”

Before the doctor could reply he was launching an attack at Wapol.

“Gum-Gum Pistol!”

Shinwa sighed and summoned Eric, then drew her sword, together they went after the archer, while Sanji went after the hair guy.

Eric blocked an arrow sent their way and Shinwa slashed at the archer. He went down fast, not really being a melee fighter, up against two tough melee fighters. Sanji defeated the hair boxer not long after. And not much long after that Wapol was defeated, Luffy sending him flying into the sky.

“There, that wasn’t that hard.” They’d even saved Hiriluk’s flag from being shot down.

It wasn’t long before the rest of the crew showed up. In the meantime, Shinwa had a doctor to recruit.

But first, “Hey captain, want this guy on our crew?” She called pointing at Chopper who was hiding behind a tree.

“What, you have a pirate crew! That's so cool!” Chopper paused, then said “Wait, I’m a monster you can’t have me on our crew!”

“Shishishi, of course I want him on our crew. He's cool, did you see the way he changes size!”

“Being a monster won’t matter, most of our crew are monsters.” she soothed the little reindeer.

“But-, but I have a blue nose!” He cried.

“So? I have blue eyes.”

“Yeah, so what if you're a monster or if you have a blue nose, I think you're cool and you're fun to play with, that's all that matters.” Called Luffy.

She cleared her throat, “He is also a doctor which is very important!”

“Right yeah, important, anyway do you want to join our crew!”

“Yeah!” He cried.

“No poaching my reindeer!” Doctor Kureha called having walked through the doors after having left when the battle started. She was now holding weapons pointed towards the gathered crew.

The newly regathered crew ran.

“Quick she’s going to kill us!” Cried Usopp.

“This way, mosshead!” yelled Sanji, pulling Zoro back towards them before he inevitably got lost.

Shinwa wrote as she ran, summoning a key that she left on the floor in the path of the enraged doctor. Then she tore off a piece of the paper and wrote ‘for the armory, I think Chopper will love the gift’ and left it with the key.

They all loaded up in the sleigh, which was already prepacked with Chopper's doctor stuff, and Chopper turned into a reindeer. He pulled the sleigh down the wire attached to the mountain and to the Going Merry.

The Doctor must have gotten the note because the cherry blossoms bloomed from the Drum Mountains.

The crew oohed and awed while Chopper cried.

Chapter 17: Chapter 17

Summary:

Some inbetween.

Chapter Text

Chopper quickly adapted to life as a pirate. It wasn’t long before he was assisting with the ropes, singing shanties, and laughing alongside the crew.

Shinwa took to helping him expand his meager supplies, summoning herbs that he could use to make medicines for large and small maladies alike.

Then one day she finally beat Zoro in one of their spars.

“How’d you do it?” he asked her, out of breath, “I’ve seen you train all you do is lift weights, you don’t practice new forms, but you just beat me with a form I’ve never seen before.”

“I don’t know.” She shrugged. “Hell, I don’t know how my body fights the way it does. Whenever I fight it's like my body moves before my brain can think to respond, then when I grow strong enough for my body to pull off a new move then it just integrates it into my skill set. But if I tried to imitate that move out of battle it would be like a toddler swinging around a sword.”

“It’s like your body is emulating someone else’s fighting” he said thoughtfully.

“Hmm, well the body I’m currently in isn’t my own, maybe that has something to do with it?”

“What?”

Oops. didn’t mean to say that aloud.

“Umm, nothing?”

He glared at her, “You didn’t tell us everything did you?”

“Umm, no sorry.”

“You're talking about this at dinner.”

That's how it came to be that everyone was staring at her, over the delicious food that Sanji had prepared.

“So, um, I may have not told you guys everything?”

“What does it matter, Shinwa is Shinwa, if she doesn't want to tell us she doesn’t have to.” said Luffy.

“What are you guys talking about?” asked Chopper.

“Shinwa’s a super powerful fortune teller, who can see the future!” said Usopp.

“Wow!”

Nami punched Usopp in the head, “Don’t lie to him, Usopp!”

“Oh, so Shinwa can’t see the future?” asked Chopper confused.

“Um, well sort of, it’s not that I can see the future, more that I know how future events would play out, if I had never joined the crew.”

“What, Shinwa not in the crew? I could never imagine that!” Said Luffy.

“Well, it's true, the original state of the world didn’t include me, but now it does so things are different.”

“Different how?” Nami asked.

“Well for one, Zoro was the first mate.”

They all looked over at Zoro.

“Nah, he's too lazy.” said Nami

“You witch!”

“Don’t call Nami-swan a witch, idiot swordsman!” called Sanji, kicking him.

Zoro turned around swords drawn, but before they could begin bickering Nami hit them both over the head.

“How else?” asked Usopp

“Nami would have gotten sick instead of me, we would have had a harder time fighting in general, and Sabo would have died.” She ended in a small voice.

“What Sabo would have died!” Luffy freaked out.

“Well not really, but basically, it's complicated, and it doesn’t matter now so calm down.”

“Who’s Sabo?” asked Sanji.

“He’s one of our brothers,” Shinwa answered.

“You said that this world didn’t have you originally, does that mean there are multiple worlds and you're from one of them?” Chopper asked.

Shinwa hesitated before answering, would they not like her for not being from this world originally or would they only care that she was here now?

She decided to go for it “My original world is called Earth, this world is called One Piece there.”

“So your world knows about other worlds?” asked Sanji.

“Not really, there One Piece is a popular series, though it is incomplete.”

“So, you read about us?” Nami said. “Does that mean we're famous there!”

Shinwa laughed, “Yes the series is ranked really high, has one of the highest chapter amounts, and a huge fanbase.”

Beli’s appeared in her eyes, “How much money does the series make?”

This time around they didn’t starve, Shinwa could summon foodstuffs whenever they ran out, and they ran out. Luffy got into the fridge one night and ate everything in sight. So she spent the next morning summoning different food items for Sanji.

“Shinwa-love, could you summon some flour, eggs, milk, and fruit for breakfast.”

“He ate the flour too!” She shrieked. She quickly summoned the ingredients, kissed Sanji, then left to go beat up her little brother.

“Luffy! Come here, it's time for a lesson in restraint!”

Luffy ran away giggling, but she was determined and easily caught up to him.

She wrestled him to the ground and bopped him over the head for as long as she could hold her meager haki. Which was about a minute. In the end her captain had several lumps and bruises.

“Don’t you ever do that again!” she shrieked at him once her haki was spent.

“Do what!?” he yelped, “And how do you and Gramps always do that!”

She shook her head and went back to helping Sanji with the pancakes.

When she came out to call in her nakama for breakfast she found them waving bye to a ship.

“Mr. Bon Clay, we found you!”

Vivi gasped, and once the ship was out of sight she shrieked “That was Mr. Two!”

“Oh good, did you make good friends, Luffy?”

“What do you mean ‘oh good’ that man works for Crocodile and now he has all our faces!”

“Except for me and Sanji, yes, and he’s important to the future, but by captain’s orders I can’t explain why.” Shinwa paused, “Anyways come in for breakfast!” She called to the rest of the crew.

At breakfast they made a plan, each would wear a black ‘x’ on their arms, covered by a bandage.

When they reached Nanohana Luffy raced off to find some food, dragging Shinwa with him.

“Meat, meat, meaty meat, meat!” he chanted as they raced along in the coastal town.

“Luffy, put me down, I can run too!” She was excited to see her little brother again; it had been three years since she had last seen Ace.

Eventually Luffy put her down, just outside of a restaurant, before he barged in yelling “MEAT!”, sending both Ace and Smoker through the wall.

She sighed and followed him in. Only to sigh again as Smoker came back through the wall, furious. She quickly grabbed her captain and this time she pulled him along as she ran.

Chapter 18: Chapter 18

Summary:

Ace reappears

Chapter Text

It wasn't long before Smoker caught up to them, Shinwa turned, drew her sword, and blocked a blow from Smoker’s jitte before it could hit her. She would hate for all those herbs and food to suddenly go missing.

Before she could go on the offensive Ace appeared.

“Go, take Luffy and I’ll meet you at your ship!” he called, beginning to attack Smoker.

So, she ran, still pulling Luffy behind her. When she looked back, she saw fire and smoke battling each other.

While she was looking back, she ran face first into a group of billions.

This time she would get to fight, she thought, summoning Eric and drawing Surudoi Kaze.

Luffy took a fighting stance beside her and together they took down all the billions, just in time for Ace to show up again.

“Hey, little brother” Shinwa called, wiping the blood off her weapon on one of the fallen, and released Eric.

“Hey, big sister, little brother,” he answered. “Bet I could beat you in a fight now,” he said smugly.

Shinwa just laughed him off, she now had enough haki to blacken her sword, just barely, but it would be enough to take down a logia with her skills. Especially since she could copy it to her summon without any extra effort.

“Hey, I bet I could beat Ace now!” called Luffy as they began running to the ship that was now leaving the shore.

“Uh-oh” she groaned as Luffy grabbed both Shinwa and Ace and rocketed them over to the Going Merry.

She and Ace screamed indignantly while they were flying over. And both groaned as they hit the deck. Luffy just giggled the whole entire time.

“Who’s this?” asked Nami.

“Shishishi, this is Ace, my older brother!”

Ace and Shinwa stood up at the same time and hit him over the head.

“I could have flown over here on my own idiot!” said Ace

“There was no reason to grab us when we were both perfectly capable of making it to the Merry on our own!” yelled Shinwa.

“Um, guys, what do we do about all the ships around us?” wailed Usopp.

That gave Shinwa an idea. “Whoever takes down the most ships wins!”

“Yeah!” called Ace and Luffy.

So, Shinwa summoned a small dragon, it was about the size of herself, but she had learned that size didn't matter when it came to its fire power. She told it to burn all the enemy ships down before Luffy or Ace could do anything and sat there with the thousand-pound weight on her back.

In the end Luffy took down one ship, Ace two, and Shinwa’s dragon three. She released it a minute after she called it, and got up, her back aching.

“Your summons have gotten stronger, Shinwa!” called Ace, excited to see a dragon.

“You didn’t tell me you could summon a dragon!” called Luffy over excited with stars in his eyes. “Can I ride it!”

“Not right now, I'm too tired, but maybe tomorrow.” she said, rubbing her back.

It wasn’t long before they reached the Sandora river. They docked the ship and disembarked.

“So Ace, what are you doing in Alabasta, or are you just visiting?” Shinwa asked.

“I’m chasing a lead on a former crewmate of mine, Blackbeard.”

“Hmm, I hope you have some back up with you?”

“No, this is something I need to handle myself,” he said, shaking his head.

“Please don’t” she said with tears in the back of her eyes.

“What?”

Luffy looked over at them, “Is this something about the future?” He asked.

“The future, what do you mean Luffy?”

“Shinwa knows part of the future.”

“What how?”

“I don’t know something about a book and another world; I wasn’t really paying attention.”

They both looked over at her who was at the verge of breaking down crying.

“Please don’t go face him alone, Ace” she sniffled, “I can help, we can help! I know where he shows up next, you just need to stay with us until then!” She was full on sobbing now. “Just please let me take care of this like I did Sabo!” she wailed.

“Hey, who made my Shinwa-love cry!” called Sanji his leg up ready to defend her, even Zoro had his hand on the hilts of his swords, ready to leap into battle against an enemy.

“Woah, woah calm down Shinwa, what's this about Sabo?” Soothed Ace.

“Shinwa said Sabo would have died,” Luffy said, pulling his hat down. “Does that mean Ace dies too?”

She sniffled some more, “You said not to spoil the adventure.”

“If it's important, then you can tell me.”

“Yes, Ace dies, right in front of you too. It broke your heart; you went into shock and wouldn’t have survived if the world's best doctor wasn’t there.” She said quietly, not wanting the crew to overhear.

Ace was in shock, he stood there, mouth gaping.

“Do you know how to prevent it?” asked her captain.

She nodded.

“Then prevent it, we trust you, big sister!”

“Ok” She smiled through the tears.

Then the Dugongs showed up. She watched Luffy beat them up while Sanji held her trying to soothe her, even if he didn’t know what caused her outbreak of tears.

It took a while for Ace to stop just standing there, and even after he was pale at the thought of him dying, and in front of his brother too.

He finally asked, “How do I prevent it?”

Sanji glared at him over her head, probably blaming him for her crying.

“It’s ok Sanji, it’s not Ace’s fault I’m crying.” She took a deep breath then said “Like I said just stay with us until we’ve all ensured you’re safe. I’ll call Sabo and see if he can help us too.”

She calmed down, instead planning out what to do next. After they dealt with Crocodile they would end up on Jaya and that's where they would find Blackbeard.

For now, she just needed to make sure Ace stayed with them, and see if they could get Sabo to help, he was the only one she had ever told the whole truth, and up to recently the only one that knew about her knowledge of the future. He would definitely come to help if she called him, and he might even bring a few of his revolutionary friends as well.

They set off into the desert headed for Erumalu.

Chapter 19: Chapter 19

Summary:

Some chatter while walking through the desert.

Chapter Text

They found the city destroyed.

“What happened here!” asked Nami.

“Did a scary big monster wreck this place?” Usopp asked, hiding behind Nami.

“No, drought did.” answered Vivi. “Years ago, this was a flushing city filled with green. Then at some point the Sandora River became more saltwater than fresh, causing them to rely on rainwater. But because of the drought not a drop of water has landed here, resulting in the city’s population leaving.”

She paused for a moment. “It was here that Dance Powder was found, supposedly ordered by my father. But I know the truth now, it was placed here by crocodile and Baroque Works to start a civil war.”

“What’s Dance Powder?” asked Luffy

“It’s used to make artificial rain but takes rain away from nearby areas.” Answered Shinwa.

Vivi gave her a look, “Tell me how much do you know about the events to happen here?”

“No spoilers!” complained Luffy. “It will work out and if it won’t then Shinwa will fix it and it will work out anyways.”

“Yeah, I’ll fix what's wrong, don't worry Vivi, and don’t worry, Ace.”

Ace sighed “And what if new problems show up?”

“Then we’ll fix it anyway!” said Luffy.

They set out into the desert heading for Yuba. And she will say this: it sucked.

The desert was hot, unbearably hot, and for some reason Ace was unaffected.

“Ace how are you so unaffected, I know it's not because we grew up in a jungle, Luffy and I are dying so it can’t be.”

“I guess it's because of my fruit, it makes me fire so why would the heat affect me, fire is heat.”

“No fair!” groaned Luffy.

“Here Luffy.” She said summoning a canteen of water.

“I want one too.” said Chopper.

“Here.” she said, summoning one for everyone. Her fruit really was handy when it came to supplies.

Her crew thanked her for the drink, as she forced the water down Ace’s throat. He had refused the water, so she simply insisted.

“You have to drink water when you're in the desert, else you'll get heat stroke.”

He gurgled incomprehensibly while Shinwa and Luffy just laughed.

“Shishishi, so Shinwa what was it like in the world you came from?”

“Shinwa came from a different world?” asked Ace

“Yeah! She said that she came from a different world where ours was just a book series, or something like that.”

“Oh, who's your favorite character then? Is it me, or is it your loverboy over there? Hmm or maybe Luffy since you joined his crew and not mine.”

She laughed, "Actually it's Zoro over there.”

“What!” the whole crew shouted while Zoro just blinked at her.

“Me?” he said pointing at himself.

“But you’re always fighting with him, how can he be your favorite over your own boyfriend!” shouted Nami.

“Hmm, well I’ve always been a fan of swordsmen, and I thought it was funny that he was such an idiot that he thought more swords were better and stuck one in how mouth, then fucking made it work.” She laughed at his enraged face. “And I’m not always fighting with him, most of the time I’m flirting, and he thinks I’m making fun of him.”

Zoro looked confused, “The hell you mean flirting, witch?”

“Oh please, love, you may not be a twink, but you're hot, and as I said my favorite. I had your face up on my wall for years.”

He was blushing hard at her words. “D- Does that mean you're interested in dating me too?”

“Yes, love, do I have to spell it out for you?”

“N- no, just thought you were already taken.”

“I'm poly, that means I have room in my heart for multiple people at once. The only reason I didn’t make a real move is because I wasn't sure that Sanji would be ok with it.”

“I'm ok with it.” replied said Sanji, taking a whiff from his cigarette.

“You're ok with it?” asked Shinwa, surprised that he was.

“Yeah, I’d rather it be someone that I know won’t hurt you, even if it is the shitty mosshead.”

“Yay!” She cheered, then ran up to Sanji, kissed him around his death stick, and then ran up to Zoro and said “Soooooooo, you wanna date me?” she said, blinking up at him.

He sighed, still blushing “As long as it doesn’t make me boyfriends with Sanji” he said quietly.

“Why, you wanna ask him out on your own?” she cackled.

“Why you witch!” he shouted, drawing his swords.

She drew hers and they exchanged blows for a while

After they calmed down Sanji asked, "So who's your second favorite?”

“Someone we haven’t met yet”

“Oh, are they a crew member?”

“Kinda, won’t say it would be spoilers.”

“No spoilers!” called Luffy.

“Then who’s your third?”

“Ace!” she said.

“What, I’m your favorite over your own captain?” asked Ace walking beside them.

“Yeah” she said a little dreamily, “You're hotter than Luffy, for one, I mean look at your abs! For two, your story was more tragic, but hopefully this time it won’t be.”

“Am I at least your fourth favorite?” Sanji asked, a little pouty.

She laughed, “Yes, love, you're my fourth favorite.”

Then Luffy spotted a rock in front of them and raced off shouting “Shade!”

“Wait Luffy!” she shouted racing after him.

It was too late, he took off like a rocket, and she didn’t feel like running in the sand.

When the rest of the crew arrived at the rock they found Luffy running away from a giant lizard, alongside a camel, for some reason.

With backup Luffy, Shinwa, Zoro, and Sanji took down the lizard, rescuing the camel.

They berated Luffy for losing his bag, Nami, Shinwa, and Ace beating him over the head, and settled in for the night.

Sanji cooked the giant lizard and somehow between Ace, Luffy, and Shinwa they ate the whole thing. Shinwa didn’t eat nearly as much as Luffy but tied with Ace’s multiple people feast.

Summary:

A talk with Sabo, and an argument with Vivi

Chapter Text

Shinwa summoned a transponder snail and dialed Sabo’s personal number. The snail rang for a while before he picked up.

“Hello? Who is this?”

“Sabo!” cried Luffy.

“Luffy is that you? How’d you get this number? I never gave it to you.”

“Shishishi, Shinwa and Ace are here too.”

“Oh, meeting up without me? What if I want in on the fun?”

“Then you’ll have to come over to Alabasta,” said Ace.

“Oh, Luffy and Shinwa finally made it to the Grandline did they?”

“Yup, we sure did, we’re about to start a party in Alubarna pretty soon, want to join?” That was their code for important events to come. They had come up with code not long after Shinwa told him that she knew of the future.

“Party, what party, will there be lots of meat?” asked Luffy.

She laughed, “Yes Luffy, there will be meat.”

“Hmm, I’m currently in Alabasta myself, on a job. Does your party have to do with what I’m here for?”

“Probably, who do you have with you, we could use the extra guests.”

“Koala and Hack, do you need more guests than that?”

“That will do for now, but we will need more for our next party in Jaya, if you can get some.”

“I’ll see who I can scrounge up. Where do you want to meet up?”

“We’re currently on our way to Yuba, but after that we’ll be at Rain Dinners.”

“Ok, I'll meet you at Rain Dinners then.”

“Hey, what did you mean you’re here for a job?” Ace asked, confused.

“Oh, we haven’t got the chance to talk since I joined, I joined the Revolutionary Army.”

“Sounds like something you would do. I joined the Whitebeards myself.”

“Oh, I'm surprised, you didn't seem like the type to get adopted.”

“You little-”

“What's the Rev-ul-tion-ary Army?” Luffy asked, butchering the word.

Sabo laughed “It’s Revolutionary, and it’s a group that fights world nobles and tyranny, so that the world can be free!”

“That’s cool!”

They talked for as long as they could, Shinwa holding the summon for 20 minutes. After that they all went to bed, sharing the same tent and snuggled together like they used to do in their old tree house.

When they woke, they began setting out for Yuba once again.

When they arrived a few days later, they found it wrecked and covered in sand.

Vivi gasped “What happened here?”

An old man appeared saying that the town was subject to sandstorms and that the population had left, except for him.

Vivi gasped once more, realizing who the old man was, “Toto is that you?”

“Princess Vivi, is that you?”

The two reunited, and Vivi shared the story of her and Koza when they were younger.

“-and with all the sandstorms this place became covered in sand, the oasis drying up under the onslaught of sand.” Toto was saying.

“Is there a place we can stay and I can cook?” asked Sanji

“Why yes, young man, this place was once known for its inns. Pick a room and stay in it, your free to use any of the inn’s kitchens.”

They picked the inn with the least amount of damage and settled in for the night.

After dinner Luffy, Ace, and Shinwa went out to help the old man. Shinwa helped Ace and Luffy dig deep into the sand, scooping up water into barrels as she went. Eventually the two boys passed out while they were digging. So Shinwa picked them up one by one and brought them to a bed in the inn and snuggled in once more.

In the morning the old man had a gift for the three of them, a gallon of water each. They thanked him and went on their way.

It wasn’t long before Vivi had a bone to pick with her.

“If you know the future then why didn’t you warn us that the rebel army wasn’t in Yuba anymore?”

Shinwa shrugged, “Besides Luffy's orders for no spoilers, it needed to happen.”

“What do you mean it needed to happen, we could have been at their base days ago!” she exploded.

“Your plan won’t work,” Shinwa said quietly.

“What do you mean!” she said up in her face now.

“Shinwa’s right, Vivi,” said Luffy.

Vivi turned her anger towards Luffy now, “What do you mean it won't work, I’m trying to save as many people as possible!”

“The rebels are too riled up right now, Mr. Two showed up not too long ago disguised as your father, with Baroque Works agents disguised as soldiers and ordered a city razed.”

“What! Why didn’t you stop him earlier when we met then!”

“No spoilers, just know he’ll be needed later on.”

Vivi punched her in the face, Shinwa could have dodged but decided she kinda deserved it.

Shinwa spat blood out of her mouth and punched Vivi back, “You’re plan won’t work because you're too naive!”

The two began punching each other back and forth, Vivi upset that Shinwa didn;t prevent the events that led to them wasting time, and Shinwa upset that she was so stuck in her own ways that she didn’t see that they were here to help.

“You’re too selfish!” Shinwa yelled.

“I’m selfish? You’re the one not sharing information!”

“I’m following my captain's orders!” she stretched, pulling Vivi’s hair.

“Shinwa’s right, you're being selfish,” said Luffy calmly.

“Oh, and how am I doing that!”

“You’re only sacrificing yourself, when we’re right here, offering our own lives for you.”

That's when Vivi started crying.

After that they headed for Rainbase, where Crocodile was, and where they would meet Sabo.

They arrived at dusk. The grand city of Rainbase spread out in front of them, and at the center of it was Rain Dinners sitting on an island in the middle of an Oasis.

Chapter 21: Chapter 21

Summary:

A little mischief

Chapter Text

The crew and Ace made their way towards Rain Dinners, where she promised to find Sabo. And found him she did.

Sabo was gambling, winning every game and bet he was in. Right now he was playing a game of Roulette, a huge crowd gathered around him. The crowd kept ohing and ahing all while trying to get the young nobleman’s luck to rub off on them.

“Hey Luffy, why don’t you take the others to find Crocodile, while Nami and I win some money for us.” she said, wanting to not blow her younger brother's cover.

“Ok!” he said cheerfully while Nami got Beli in her eyes.

She made sure her crew and Ace were gone, before turning to Nami.

“See the gentleman in the blue suit and top hat? He’s our target, make sure to win against him while I butter him up.”

“Sure, that noble must have plenty of money to lose with the way he's flaunting it.”

She watched from among the crowd cackling to herself; this would be so good.

When Sabo’s smile was beginning to turn downwards at his losses, she summoned a Marilyn Monroe, perfect for a casino such as this, and had her summon go flirt with Sabo, offering to pay for him. She had also summoned some Beli as well.

While he was busy turning her down, Shinwa snuck up and swiped his briefcase where he was keeping his money. She knew he would notice, at this point his observation haki had to be high with his training in the Revolutionary Army.

She had Monroe walk off in a huff, then signaled to Nami discretely to leave. She made it outside the casino and waited for Nami to catch up.

“He’ll have noticed for sure; you distract him when he comes while I carry our loot away.”

“Ok, but why are we doing this instead of helping the others, I mean I don’t mind winning some cash but…”

She giggled a little, “I’m pulling a little prank on a friend of mine.”

This time Nami giggled too, “As long as we get to keep the cash I don’t mind.”

The two of them split up, Nami going back into the casino to distract Sabo, while she snuck back in to find the back room, she had to get to Luffy and the others who were undoubtedly caught in a trap right now.

She wandered around the back rooms until she found a pathway leading down into the basement where Crocodile, Ms. All-Sunday, and the rest were.

She arrived just as Crocodile and Ms. All-Sunday were leaving. She stopped, and just stood there, while Crocodile and her future Nakama regarded her, confused. Not long after her came Sabo, running at full speed, and Nami huffing and puffing after him.

“Come back here thief!” shouted Sabo.

“Wait!” called Nami after him.

Shinwa turned, giggled, stuck out her tongue and pulled down one eyelid.

Sabo stopped short, “Wha-  Shinwa!”

“Hello Sabo, did you enjoy my prank?”

“Shinwa the Author, Sabo the Revolutionary, what brings you here?” Asked Crocodile, raising his hook.

She turned back to him, smiled and said, “I’m here to save my idiot brothers and crew over there,” she said pointing in the direction of the cage where they were calling their names. “And to ask you a question: is it true that you and Monkey D. Dragon had a relationship which may or may not have resulted in a child?”

Crocodile blinked, “How did you know that!” he cleared his throat, “No, I don’t know what you're talking about. Now if you want to save your friends you better start fighting the Bananawani.” he said quickly step siding the three of them and walking away as water started to fill the room.

“Quick Nami or Sabo go pick the lock, I can’t touch water so I’ll leave it to you!” she said running away before the two could protest.

She ran outside, not far after Crocodile and Robin, turned and looked for a part of the lake that looked like where they came out in the series. Which was harder than she thought, for one this wasn’t an anime or manga it was a real world, for two there was a crowd of billions blocking her view.

She sighed, summoned Eric, and drew her sword before attacking the billions. It took her several minutes and by the time she was done she could see Luffy and the others, including one Smoker, by the side of the lake to the right of her.

She quickly ran over, releasing Eric, and tried to catch up to them. Which was hard considering they were running for their lives from a horde of marines led by Tashigi.

It took a while, but she managed to catch up, taking shortcuts through alleyways, and occasionally jumping from roof to roof.

“Shinwa!” called Luffy, stretching out an arm and grabbing the back of her shirt, before pulling her towards him.

She screamed while he pulled her towards him, slamming into Sanji at the end of it.

“Shinwa my love, I was so worried that you wouldn’t be alright!”

“Hmph, then clearly you don’t know how strong she is.” Said Zoro.

“Of course I do, stupid marimo, I just worried anyways, that's what you're supposed to do when you're dating someone.”

“Wait dating?” asked Sabo.

“Oh, yeah, surprise! I have two boyfriends now!”

“Pft, you? You could barely charm that one girl into dating you and it only lasted a day!”

“Wha- hey, I’ll have you know it was my choice to call it off, she was annoying!”

“You mean that one girl who was interested in your bra?” Asked Luffy.

“You knew about that!” shouted the three other siblings.

“Shishishi, yup! She was weird.”

“What’s this about dating a girl?” asked Sanji as they continued to run.

“Oh, don’t worry like Luffy said, she was weird.”

“Sounds more like a pervert to me.” said Nami under her breath.

They lost the marines as they entered the desert.
