Chapter Text
My homeland is frozen
Frozen over in a sea of unrelenting ice
Ice that persists into streets, into homes
Into people
The ice doesn’t feel for its inhabitants
It is ice
It does not understand reason, or remorse
Nor the pleas of the land it plagues
The ice is sharp and intense,
It drives people out of their home
Now or always,
It does not care
The ice is thick,
Entry into my land is impossible.
Even if it was possible,
No man in a right mind
Would ever step foot on the soiled grounds of
My homeland
Where the ice persists
and drives my homelands fire away
