Chapter One: Blue That Walks Through Walls
Valorant’s training grounds were quieter than usual, only the hum of distant generators and the echo of footsteps that didn’t belong to this world. Valorant HQ at night always felt slightly unreal. Too polished. Too still. A ripple tore through the air.
Blue fractured light shimmered like broken glass. Yoru stepped out of it like he’d simply walked through a curtain. Teleport. Gone. Back again. He liked disappearing.
He liked control.
He liked knowing that if things got too close - too loud - he could just leave.
“Oi, boy!”
Across the range, Phoenix spun a practice pistol lazily around his finger. Flames danced over his knuckles like impatient pets.
“You gonna blink around all night or actually help?”
Yoru adjusted his gloves. “You talk too much.”
Phoenix gasped dramatically. “And yet you always show up when I call.”
Blue flickered.
Red flared brighter in response.
They circled each other during drills - Phoenix loud and flashy, Yoru quiet and precise.
At one point Phoenix deliberately missed a shot just to shout:
“Ah! I’ve been betrayed by bad aim!”
“You always had bad aim,” Yoru replied dryly - before teleporting behind him and flicking the back of his head.
Phoenix yelped. “OI- that’s cheating!”
Yoru smirked.
And somewhere between the spark of fire and the hum of rift energy, something warm started simmering - not loud, not explosive.
Just steady.
