[Podfic] Un ciel aussi rose

Summary:

Jack falls just a little more in love when Bitty walks straight past twelve thousand dollars worth of kayaks and stops in front of the cedar strip canoe.

Notes:

A podfic of this very sweet story by Stultiloquentia!

I started working on this podfic at least three and a half years ago, and then...I'm not even sure? I guess life kept being busy? And somehow I never came back around to recording the last little bit of the fic. But at last it's complete! My first Check Please podfic, nearly four years in the making.

I apologize for some unevenness in sound quality and/or slight background noise that I didn't even realize was there until I put on headphones to listen to the final version. I don't think, hopefully, that any of it should be too distracting. Also, I speak French about as well as Bitty does, but I gave the French words my best shot. :-)

Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy this heartfelt story even a fraction as much as I did!

Notes on the music in this podfic:

Mieux qu'ici-bas – Isabelle Boulay
The song from which this fic draws its title; also mentioned within the story as a song Bitty comes across while looking for Québécois music to put on a playlist for Jack.

The Lakes of Canada – Sufjan Stevens
Song to open the section of the story in which Bitty and Jack are on their way to a lake in Canada. :-)

Afterglow – Ásgeir Trausti
Icelandic musician Ásgeir's song about the northern lights. This song gave me chills the first time I heard it, because the sound of it really did feel like the otherworldly experience of seeing the northern lights.

Crazy in Love – Beyoncé
Because Bitty!!

The Valley – k.d. lang
Canadian musician k.d. lang beautifully covering a song by fellow Canadian musician Jane Siberry. As much Canada as possible for this fic, please. <3

And Isabelle Boulay again, taking us back out.
