He doesn't regret not telling Foggy, wouldn't regret it if Foggy had never found out and they were still in an office with Karen and clients and bills hanging over their heads, but he wouldn't have felt this way. It's not fair to Foggy, but he's glad he gets this.
“Oh, kid,” says Angie, full of so much sympathy it hurts. “You can't ever let yourself have the good things, can you?”“I love you because we're fixing things. It hasn't been long.”
“That's okay,” says Foggy, painfully gentle. He doesn't say that it's recent for him too, and someday Matt will ask Foggy how long he's loved him, why he didn't stop when Matt hurt him, but it's too much right now. He's still too conscious of every breath. -

ah yes, two friends to enemies to lovers reconciling in the only way they know how: by being petty assholes who debate their own love and happiness like vicious wolves in a courtroom. also like a really good example of the ethics discussion that would be required to fix canon (that we’ll never get)

You might need to know the premises of this series (that Angie Martinelli and Peggy Carter are related to the Nelsons and Foggy is their favourite great-nephew) to get all the references, but otherwise accessible to anyone who knows MCU canon. I love how Matt and Foggy finally, finally talk like grownups to hash out everything and come to a better place. Lovely.
