He wakes up feeling warm and full, something caressing his cheek and hugging his chest and torso. He leans into it.
*Good morning, Peter.* He smiles, eyes still closed. A familiar presence. Venom's tendrils have surfaced near his neck, slightly massaging his tense tendons there. *I am sorry, I was not nice to you.*
“It’s okay.”
“Peter?” His tendrils recede as Peter’s eyes snap open, heart beating as wild as a bird in a cage. It’s Natasha. He notices he’s in an open, spacious, window-filled room. From his spot on the navy blue plush bed, he can see an expanse of river bordered with trees. The room looks expensive, a far cry from the brutalist all-concrete room that he grew up in.
