Chapter Text
That was it. Abstraction had finally taken him. All around was darkness as the world tilted him backwards like he was floating. But a tight ache wrapped around his head, panging and throbbing. Hot liquid bubbled and twisted in his gut, threatening to explode if he even moved a muscle. Speaking of his muscles, they were still there.
Jax’s body was intact, just as he remembered, without the weight of clothes and exposed to a perfect temperature. Maybe that jagged, dark mass of glowing eyes was running around in the circus, while he stayed in that liminal space.
Something soft rested across his chest, trailing to the side of his arm. Supple skin coated half his body, and a dense lump was lightly placed on the side of his chest, moving to a slow breathing stomach. A heavy weight pressed down against his bicep, which was stretched out along a cozy surface.
Someone’s shallow breath blew against his face in a smooth, familiar rhythm. A sleepy moan rumbled through the body next to him, their light voice right near his ear. Pomni’s body tensed, and she adjusted herself to get closer to him; her body covered a good portion of his own, every lump and crevasse bending on his own skin as her balled hand stayed atop where his heart would have been.
Was that abstraction? An eternity of being stuck in dizzying loops of whatever was consuming his thoughts? Ribbit and Kaufmo consumed his surroundings, and blissful colours kept him in a calm stasis the first time. Now the world seemed dark, peaceful. Only Pomni existed in this world and this version of her was content to be with him.
Despite the sickening pangs in his head and stomach, he dared to lift Pomni closer with the arm she was lying on. Her tender breasts dragged slightly against his body as her tiny, nubby nipples brushed past his fur, onto his skin. When was the last time he felt boobs against his skin like that? Or even saw them?
Jax giddily thought of how perky and dense they were hanging from her rubbery chest. He remembered them bouncing in the dim light, Pomni’s white body almost like a beacon against the dark reds and blues behind her, every one of her thrusts sending flurries of exhilarating rushes from the tip of his wet cock to his head like bursts of dizzying highs. Another sensation of gooey warmness enveloping his entire shaft, tight and slick, flashed in his mind with the sounds of his and Pomni’s harmonising gasps and whines.
More images and sensations pushed themselves to the front of Jax’s mind:
Him pinning Pomni down by her small wrist on a red and blue bed , buzzing electricity building up in his cock as she looked at him hungrily. Her teeth were sharpened, but Jax dove for the jester’s neck and started nibbling sweetly as she squirmed beneath him, gasping shortly.
His tongue brushing over all the slippery lumps and creases at the base of Pomni’s pelvis, his saliva mixing with her thick juices. Every stroke earned a cute, helpless whine from her.
How Pomni writhed her his touch, her eyes rolling back blissfully when his fingers circled around her clit then slid through her entrance, curling up against her thin wall.
Then the surroundings came together – the red and blue all around her in his mind, the bed, the large toy blocks, other wooden figures scattered about, red curtains hung on random parts of the walls. They were memories of Pomni’s room. They were memories…
Memories of when, though? The abstraction? He was meant to abstract. Why was he meant to abstract? That was a part of a plan… a plan he formed sometime… on an adventure. There was an adventure that just made him think of abstraction and how it would be good for everyone, how it would protect Pomni from him.
A sharp pain spiked in his temple the more his thoughts built up. Jax instinctively lifted his hand to soothe it and massaged the sides of his head with his fingers. The pain kind of ebbed into a dense ache he almost recognised.
He wasn’t good enough for anyone, especially Pomni, so he needed to abstract. Jax saw the whiskey and planned to drink a whole bottle, then as many bottles as he could. He was going to get drunk then have the best abstraction he could have – swirling colours with topsy-turvy, drunken bliss…
Until he didn’t abstract. Oh god, that wasn’t abstraction at all. If it wasn’t abstraction, it was a dream. It must have been a dream. Pomni was right against his chest, resting her head in the crook of his neck, breathing softly against him. Her light hand was balled on his shoulder while Jax’s arm rested underneath her.
But his head panged too painfully, and his stomach tightened in such uncomfortable knots that squeezed bubbles of liquid. And his dick was tired and sore, feeling as if it had been pulled and bent in all different directions.
It wasn’t a dream. It wasn’t abstraction. It was a hangover after a drunken one-night stand.
Shit. Fuck, fuck fuck – what the actual fuck? He had a fucking one-night stand with Pomni??
His eyes shot open, meeting a red and blue wall. Everywhere he looked: red, blue, red blue. Pomni’s bedroom. His groggy heart sped itself up while his mind heavily tried to catch up with its surroundings, like he was swimming through honey.
He tried to filter through his memories.
Almost the whole of that day seemed to be clear. They were on a “classic” adventure, where Pomni was chosen as a sort of Sleeping Beauty. She slept in a castle while the others walked through a forest, fighting off different foes. The walk was boring and long. Then they reached the castle, took turns kissing her forehead and Ragatha ended up being her “True Love”.
Then there was a wedding, set in a colourful chapel area of Pomni’s castle. Jax was seated at the far back, with a couple of scattered mannequins, away from the others at the front. The sun had stopped streaming colour through the stained windows so Jax could only make out some of the vague patterns. One he noted was the stained glass version of the ‘Creation of Adam’, where Caine was on a floating cloud, touching a mannequin hand with his gloved finger. He’d seen that a couple of times in other adventures.
Iron chandeliers, melded with decadent swirls, hung from the ceiling and lit the chapel with warm light. More light spilled in from the candles on the walls, on the altar and down the stairs (unfortunately away from the little platform the brides would have stood on). The stone floor was covered in red carpet, matching the shade of Caine’s mouth, which was definitely on purpose.
Caine stood at the end, with a large book, while Bubble floated beside him for some reason. Did Bubble actually do anything? Mannequins stood at either side of the platform in matching, aqua dresses and navy suits with aqua ties. They pretended to talk amongst each other, or maybe Caine gave them a script to follow.
A small string ensemble, made up of some mannequins and the villager NPCs, played Bach’s “Air”, something Jax remembered attempting on the piano. At least it wasn’t “Canon in D” – ugh, that was the one piece he always heard at Caine’s weddings or the ones in the movies. “Air” wasn’t that original as well, but at least it sounded nicer and didn’t offend his ears with the endless looping of one fucking melody line. There was a piano there too, but no one was touching it yet. Pianos didn’t even exist in the time Caine was trying to replicate, but probably most things in the adventure didn’t exist.
The first to walk down the aisle was Ragatha. She was in the frilliest, girly dress Jax had ever seen. It was almost tacky. No, it was tacky. On anyone else, it would have been so absurd, but he supposed her being a doll kind of made her pull it off. The worst part about it was that Ragatha chose the dress. She had a long veil, which dragged along the red carpet. She timidly waved to all the NPCs and circus members looking at her, all except Jax. At least Jax was put in a simple tuxedo, loose and tight in the right places.
Caine wiped a cartoonishly large tear from his eyes. A scowl pulled at the fringe of Jax’s mouth. The liar. He didn’t have feelings. He didn’t care about any of them. He orchestrated the whole adventure so he could have been at the centre of attention, down at the very end of the aisle while they were forced to listen to some AI-generated speech about what he thought love was.
Ragatha’s steps were slow and timid, her eyes darting everywhere but Caine’s direction. It was supposed to be a “make-up” adventure, which is why they went back to basics in terms of plot. Obviously, it didn’t change that Caine lead them all into believing they could escape a week ago and gave them all false hope, gave Jax the knowledge that he would have doomed everyone if given an actual chance. The very thought still made bile rise in his chest.
Then Pomni came out, all shy and tiny like a little daisy. Behind the short veil was her bashful, red cheeks and shining blue and red eyes. The sparkles on her dress shimmered in the candlelight, dazzling his eyes just with their movement. Although the dress was blue and red, it wasn’t Pomni at all. Pomni was most herself in a suit with a loosened tie and flat shoes, able to run and jump. The delicate flower in front of him, despite being dressed in her colours, didn’t represent the same, sharp-toothed imp who tried to choke him out and demanded a fight.
Her red and blue eyes met Jax’s behind her veil with a little twinkle. Before he could say anything, Pomni skipped to his seat and grabbed his ungloved hand with her own. Skin against skin created a shocking spark that distracted Jax enough for Pomni to pull him up. Soon they were walking down the aisle together, while Pomni dragged him along.
Eyes prickled against his skin from all the staring, from the knowledge that he shouldn’t have been walking Pomni down. Literally anyone else would have been better, someone gentler and kinder.
“What-” he started, but Pomni tugged him further by the cuffs of his sleeve.
Jax leaned over awkwardly, following his friend in white, not knowing what to do. Yanking his arm away would have been too much of a public tantrum, a horrible price to separate his wrist from Pomni’s naked fingertips. A tremble rattled through her as they approached Caine. She gripped Jax’s sleeve a little tighter, almost like she was scared. Scared of Caine? No, hurting them wasn’t in his nature. Perhaps it was rage.
Before he knew it, Jax reached the front seats, where the rest of the characters were. Pomni pulled him around, then pushed him onto the wooden seat. Jax’s bottom plonked down next to Kinger, his eyes still locked on Pomni, who forced a mischievous grin as if to pretend she was playing a game. To anyone else, it would have looked like a nervous, shy smile before being at the centre of attention – but that wasn’t Pomni. There was a twitch that gave away a deep-seated anxiety; rookie mistake.
As soon as her touch left his wrist, Pomni reached out for Ragatha’s padded hands. She didn’t like physical contact. Why was today the exception? Her eyes were locked on Ragatha’s as if trying to peer through her veil or trying to ignore her surroundings. Was she that scared of Caine?
“We are all…” Caine started. Pomni jumped a little, then locked her gaze on Ragatha again.
Caine continued his speech without even noticing her jump. His theatrics bounced around the chapel instead of the strings. They sounded too mechanical anyway, but a part of Jax’s chest mourned the loss of a rare instance of music in the circus. Endless bouts of adjectives, facial expressions and uncreative anecdotes filtered through Caine’s speech. He loved them, but never had a heart. He was “honoured” to marry the two, but didn’t have a code of ethics to derive honour from. Zeros and Ones were too binary for the greys of ethical codes.
How bad was that though? Caine could do whatever he fathomed to do, anything he could think of to entertain them. When he didn’t have ethics, did it reduce how he toyed with their minds and emotions to a simple mistake, a piece of data he didn’t know was wrong? Jax had ethics. He was raised with different rules and instincts, pulling him towards helping others. And every day he defied them, ignored them. Jax’s actions weren’t mistakes when he had the knowledge of what others felt. It was evil he chose to commit. Well, it would have been evil if everyone were real.
Colours upon colours in faces that faded in an out. Such overstimulating bliss, manufactured but bliss nonetheless. That’s what Pomni’s unveiled face reminded him of in the subtle candlelight, captivating bliss. She was tense, but gentle. Awkward, but carrying herself like she was meant to be there. Such contradictions, which didn’t fit into an archetype, couldn’t have been fake. Everyone was could have been flattened into a picture on a piece of paper, but Pomni seemed real, at least to his heart. Did that make Jax’s wrongdoings towards her evil when she was somebody real?
“Blagh!”
Bubble stuck his tongue out, revealing two, slobbery rings at the centre. Caine snapped his fingers, so the two rings stuck themselves on Ragatha and Pomni’s fingers. The lack of wincing from the two told him the slobber was probably snapped off. Kinger chuckled next to Jax and clapped his floating hands together in amusement.
When it was time for the two to kiss, they took turns pecking each other on the cheek. Ragatha was first and gave the expected, ladylike peck. Pomni’s was what he expected, tentative and considerate. It took her a little moment to squeeze her eyes shut, like her natural inclination was to watch the other person’s reaction. Ragatha had to bend down so Pomni could even reach her cheek. Finally, her lips collided with Ragatha’s cheek, probably feeling tender but slightly guarded. Jax wondered if she made one of her faint hums as she did it.
Then there was coloured confetti bursting from impossible areas of the chapel. The string ensemble burst into song and it was that wedding song they always heard in movies. Jax didn’t know the name, but it was that one. Pomni and Ragatha ran together down the aisle while Caine yelled words of celebration.
They were snapped into a banquet. With all the chicken, potatoes, vegetables and breads Jax imagined a medieval feast would have had on several long, wooden tables. Those glistening bottles of alcohol were displayed near him, behind a bar tended by a red-cheeked NPC villager. Jugs of wine presented themselves on the table, despite his bronze chalice already being full.
Pomni and Ragatha appeared in the middle of the room, in a wide space in between all the tables. Ragatha had a hand placed on Pomni’s shoulder and held the little jester’s hand. Pomni’s hand was placed on Ragatha’s waist, probably because it was the highest body part she could reach. Their heels clicked satisfyingly on the wooden floor as they shuffled around, looking at Caine to direct them.
The string ensemble was to the side with an out-of-place grand piano. Caine sat at the piano, the tail of his coat hanging over the edge of the stool like he was used to performing. Come to think of it, Caine had performed for them a couple of times, but his fingering was all wrong and it weas clearly an old recording of a song that didn’t match the notes he played. If Jax knew how to play violin, he probably could have seen all the errors the other NPCs were making as they played.
Caine flexed his fingers above the piano and closed his eyes. Ugh, why did he always have to pretend he could make a human error? Surprisingly, it was a new arrangement of Chopin’s Nocturne in E-Flat minor, integrating violins and violas as the melody line while Caine continued playing the left-hand part with both hands. The cellos and double basses played long, tonal notes, with the occasional long harmony. It wasn’t the most creative rendition, literally a child could have thought of it, but at least it was something Jax hadn’t heard before.
When the brides realised they were meant to dance, they started swaying awkwardly. Boring! They looked at each other attentively, as if saying they needed to talk later. Couldn’t they keep that to themselves? Get a room. Why was Ragatha so insistent on monopolising Pomni? Actually, why did he care? Jax was going to abstract, so Pomni might as well have a friend who builds her up (and won’t cause her to abstract).
The shiny, brown chicken beckoned him and his teeth. It was so big, so full of opportunities. Stick it on his head and walk around? Stick it on someone else’s head? Throw it at Ragatha and aim for her head? Ooh, that was a good one. But there was a trite and true activity that never disappointed. Jax bit into the ass of the roasted chicken on the table and shook it around with his sharpened teeth. Juicy, crunchy, salty chicken. It almost tasted lifelike. And it didn’t disappear in his mouth, which this adventure had been lacking with the inedible NPCs.
Pomni and his gaze met again. This time she was giggling like a little girl, almost free of care. Her awkward tenseness loosened while dancing with Ragatha. Pomni grabbed both her partner’s hands and pulled them back and forth, earning a laugh from Ragatha. Pomni still edged away from Caine with every dance move, eying the ringmaster uncertainly.
Ragatha was no fun. If Jax were in her shoes, Pomni would have been spun and dipped and swung around the room until the dizziness distracted her from all her worries. He would have picked her up and twirled her around. Jax would have found a sexy, red rose to put between his teeth and wiggled his eyebrows until he heard that pretty chuckle that reminded him of tinkling bells. Or she would have yelled at him, focused all her anger on Jax, so Caine wouldn’t have been a worry anymore. Pomni would have only had a nightmare in Jax, who would never intend of truly threatening her.
Other people (well, NPCs) joined them on the dance floor. Gangle and Zooble were the first to join in, tipsily tripping over their own feet. How had they already gotten into the wine? Kinger swayed in his seat, his eyes closed. Maybe he was thinking of his wife.
The chicken had lost its flavour, but was still mostly intact. Perfect – a dancing partner. Jax grabbed its wings and carried it to the dance floor. He started to sway his meal to the new song. It was upbeat, some classical waltz Jax didn’t quite know the name of but kind of recognised.
One-two, three. One-two, three. Step-step, twirl, step-step, twirl. Dancing closer and closer to Pomni.
“Oh my god,” Zooble groaned, eying Jax and the chicken.
Pomni’s face lit up when she saw him dancing, when she saw him near. A warm feeling spread through his cheeks. She liked him there. Then fear pierced his chest. Pomni needed to get away from him. Jax raised the chicken over her head, ready to bring it down like an axe.
“Hey!” yelped Pomni, bouncing out of the way before Jax struck the chicken in the empty space she narrowly escaped from.
“Just some new headwear,” he said, stepping closer to the skittish bride. Jax felt the evil smirk spread on his face again. “Hold still so I can put it on.”
“Jax, come on,” chided Ragatha, sternness overtaking her dreamy demeanour. “She’s had a rough day.”
“Yeah, that nap was real tough,” said Jax.
Just when he was about to assess Pomni’s reaction, she had slunk away from the two. Then he was stuck with Ragatha, who lectured Jax about the usual things she lectured him about. Blah blah blah, respecting others, blah blah, not messing things up all the time, blah blah, people are going through things. Okay, Pomni was going through something? So was he! So was everyone! Did she just expect Pomni to get special treatment just because she was Ragatha’s friend?
Jax didn’t say anything. If he did, there would have been more scolding, more pretending to listen and less time with Pomni before his abstraction. Sure, he technically said his goodbye, but another goodbye couldn’t have hurt.
She was at the bar, on a stool that made her legs dangle off the floor. Her tight bodice forced her posture to be prim and straight as she nursed a glass of some sort of spirit. Of course, she’d take the strong stuff. Jax slunk up to her, roast chicken in tow. For a brief moment, he caught her staring into her glass with a pensive frown.
Time to be the funny one.
“Not…”
Pomni jumped.
“…having marriage regrets already, are we?” Jax asked with a sly grin, sliding up next to her with his elbow resting on the bench.
She gave a shaky, but relieved sigh when Jax finished his sentence. Pomni eyed the chicken suspiciously. She was never going to open up as long as he held it.
“Ah,” said Jax, tightening his arm around the chicken. “I see you’ve noticed my date.”
Pomni huffed facetiously, closing her eyes with exhaustion that Jax couldn’t quite understand. She took a contented sip of her drink.
“How’d you guys meet?” she asked.
“The DMV,” Jax said with a smile. He sat down next to her, placing the greasy chicken on his lap.
That earned a little beam from her and those pink cheeks deepened in colour. “How romantic.”
“It really was.”
An uneasy silence fell between the two. Pomni’s gaze was still contemplatively stuck in that glass. If only Jax could have gotten a brief peek into her mind. Or a source of entertainment. Or a way to get a certain cackle from her, a little like the ones Ribbit used to make.
There was a chicken on his lap and a wall full of bottles ahead of him.
Jax lifted it above his shoulders. It was about the size and weight of a basketball. If he aimed it at the top, maybe the bottles would have toppled down in some sort of domino effect. In the middle would have been a great crash, though.
“I swear to god if you put that thing on my head-”
CRASH!
He struck the chicken right in the middle of the wall. A brilliant chorus of clangs upon pops and spills sparked through the air like fireworks, spreading glass and alcohol everywhere. The greasy chicken was gracelessly flopped on the floor in a gushy pile.
Pomni’s head shot up and was stuck to the destruction in front of her. A stray bottle wobbled and crashed on the floor. She blinked in shock. When she slowly turned her head towards Jax, he made sure to cheekily rest his arm on the bar, giving a flirty grin.
“You come here often?”
A bewildered shock came over her face, on the verge of laughter or an angry scream.
“Why did you-”
The bartender NPC finally came to him, with an angry expression on his humble face. His code would only remember it for so long.
“Whiskey,” said Jax.
“One glass comin’-”
“A bottle,” he clarified sternly.
“One bottle comin’ right up.”
Pomni must have thought he was so cool. When he checked to see her facial expression, those pensive eyebrows came back. Did she not think it was cool? No, it was just a front.
“Are you actually gonna drink a whole bottle?” she asked with disbelieving amusement.
Jax shrugged nonchalantly. “Why not? It’s not gonna kill me. I wanna see how many I can down.”
“I really don’t think that’s a good idea.”
“Trust me, Pom-Pom,” Jax asserted, the smirk etching itself onto his face just with her (slightly judgemental) presence. “I know how to have a good time.”
A large bottle of whiskey slid in front of him, about as big as Pomni’s head. At least Jax only needed to use one hand to drink it like a beer bottle. He took a brave, disgusting swig of the stuff, conscious of how Pomni was staring at him. Oh god, it burned like fire and medicine. His whole throat was stinging, begging for him to spit that spiky liquid out. Jax’s eyebrows tensed against his will, so he relaxed them. It needed to look easy.
A pained cough built up in his throat. He needed to stop drinking before he coughed everything up. He parted lips with the bottle. Air, glorious air filled his mouth and throat while his stomach started to burn. Jax kept his mouth in a smile and his eyebrows relaxed, reminding himself that Pomni was watching him.
Blinking the tears back from his eyes, Jax said, “You look like you could take a load off.”
Pomni raised an eyebrow, sighed then shook her head with a resigned chuckle.
“Eh, why not?”
Jax almost jumped back at the outright surrender of her prim manner. She took the bottle from him and flicked the cap open with her thumb in a way Jax only saw in movies. Then she just took a swig like it was the easiest thing in the world, looking ahead boredly. Four large gulps later (so large her entire chest heaved and Jax had to try so hard not to look at those perky bumps) and she gave it back to him.
“An indirect kiss, aye? Not very bridal, is it?” he teased, feeling that familiar snugness pass through his veins, starting to numb his hands.
“You don’t know if Rags and I are monogamous,” Pomni said, a mischievous twinkle in her eye.
“Oh?” Jax asked with interest. “Is that a proposition?”
“Not really. Just a statement of fact.”
“Like we could do any of that stuff here anyway,” Jax muttered to himself. He couldn’t even take off his overalls the last time he tried, which was a couple of months ago.
Pomni sat up, looking a little taken aback. Her eyes narrowed, as if trying to get a joke Jax was telling, before the amused smirk came back.
“Wait, you didn’t know?”
Know what? Jax put his drink back down on the bench, eyeing Pomni for any sense of deceit. Could they finally do stuff? Not only could Jax be overcome with drunken haziness while he abstracted, but he could have blown a massive load beforehand. No, no, don’t get your hopes up. They couldn’t do anything.
“Oh my god, you don’t know,” said Pomni, smiling to herself. “There was a sex update weeks ago.
Pomni told him all about it, with the enthusiasm such news deserved. Apparently, Zooble’s request was granted as soon as she made it, which was why Caine freaked out before their guns adventure. They and Gangle were the first to try it, of course, and it worked. He didn’t know how it worked (and a part of him didn’t want to with those two) but they managed to do it.
“I can’t believe you didn’t know,” she said with a snort. “Not surprising though. I don’t think you get much of the gossip.”
Something about the comment stung in the middle of his chest, but at least Pomni was telling him about it at the moment.
“Nice way of saying no one talks to me.”
She chuckled, circling the rim of her glass. Jax took another disgusting swig of his bottle. It was easier to swallow down since the first gulp started to numb his senses. When the last drop touched his tongue, Jax knew it was time for another one.
“What’re you gonna do with this information?” she asked lazily, leaning her elbow on the bar as well so she was completely facing Jax. Pomni used her other hand to wave over the bartender.
“Tease Gangle and Zooble about it, definitely.”
“Come on, that’s mean,” she scolded. A pink flush was slowly spreading from her cheeks the more she drank with him. Pomni lifted her head to the bartender. “Another Negroni and a whole bottle of whiskey, please.”
The two drinks slid over in front of the two. Jax unscrewed the lid with both hands. Maybe the third one could have been the one where he learned to flick off the lid with his thumb. Pomni held her glass by the wide rim and flicked her hand up to drink like it was second nature. She was so smooth, yet so elegant with the glass. She was so cool. Something about her just made all his limbs fuzzy, made everything feel warm and nice, like his guts were being wrapped up in a cozy blanket. Just looking at the way she skulled a bottle of whiskey like he’d never been before, especially how her tender-looking breasts heaved with every gulp created a haze in his mind.
“I’d probably jerk my disco stick,” Jax said a bit boldly. How would someone like Pomni react to that?
That was the only thing he could think of to say, unless he just wanted to stare dumbly at Pomni the entire time at the bar. She gave the expected, polite yet playful response, before somehow turning it around to allegations that he wanted to fuck Bubble.
“Hey, hey!” Jax exclaimed with an accusatory point with his tingling finger. “You’re the one who immediately thought of that!”
Pomni burst out into a loud guffaw, her face totally overcome with joy he didn’t know she was capable of. “You’re the one getting all defensive!”
“Cuz you’re saying I’d f-boink-k a literal bubble!”
“He looks like a boob, though,” she teased. “Are you implying you don’t like those?”
No, no, Jax was anything but gay (aside from those one or two times there was a nerdy-looking guy in his class-) no, stop questioning it. He was straight, manly and tough.
“You’re getting so wound up about this,” she wheezed.
“I’m not gay!”
Pomni’s face lit up with the most animated laugh he saw from her. “Bahaha!”
Did she think he was gay? Was that why she was being so friendly with him?
“I swear I’m not!” Jax asserted.
“I can’t believe that’s what you have the problem with, not that he’s an NPC.”
Shit, okay, well he was getting all riled up for no reason. Hopefully no one else saw that.
“And, for the record,” she continued, “I always thought you gave bi vibes.”
“Some NPCs are hot, though,” said Jax, in a desperate attempt to steer the topic in a slightly different direction from his sexuality.
“Like my evil doppelganger?” she tested. That was definitely flirting with him, right? She had that sly smirk Jax thought only he (and someone long gone) could have mastered.
Whatever. Jax flew caution to the wind and said, “Exactly like her.”
Pomni cracked up, leaning forward to push Jax against his chest. It was playful enough to nudge him but light enough to not hurt. How could Pomni always master that playful balance between humour, sincerity and care?
“He’s not bothering you, is he?” Ragatha’s annoying voice chirped from behind them.
Jax needed another drink. Pomni explained that they were just talking while Jax took another swig of his whiskey, gulping as much of that burning stuff as he could. Luckily, the bottle numbed his throat enough to only be mildly disturbed.
“Bar!” he called, interrupting whatever the brides were talking about. “Another!”
Another bottle slid over . Nagatha started going off on him about something when he started chugging the slightly-less-gross-than-before liquid.
“Jax, come on, y-you know this isn’t a good idea,” Ragatha stammered. Ugh, she wasn’t going to shut up, wasn’t she?
He smoothly placed the bottle down on the bar, staring at Ragatha with that charming smile. The world had started tilting upwards in a continuous, disorientating loop.
“Come on Raggy,” he said. She folded her arms disapprovingly, pushing her breasts up. Low-cut tops on Ragatha just didn’t do it for him. They were fine on her, but nothing like Pomni’s nice lumps, which were just below eyesight. “I’m just letting off steam. It’s not gonna kill me.”
“When are you not letting off steam?” asked Pomni, holding hIS FUCKING BOTTLE? How did she do that?
“Well, I’m more tryin’ to show you, short stuff,” Jax said with a slight slur, pointing at Pomni but accidentally touching her chin. “You’re so uptight.”
Pomni was too busy gulping out of Jax’s bottle to reply, but she rolled her eyes while chugging.
“I just don’t know if this is the best way-”
Nag, nag, nag! Nothing he did was right to her.
“Then what would be a better way, huh?” he snapped a little too harshly.
Ragatha flinched, putting her hands protectively over her (overly exposed) chest. She didn’t deserve that when she was just trying to help.
“Sorry Rags,” said Jax in a softer tone, leaning his heavy body onto the bench. “You’re just lookin’ out for me.”
“O-oh!” she squeaked, looking at him inquisitively. Before blinking, as if snapping herself back to reality. “Oh.”
“He’s f-boink-ed up,” laughed Pomni, more relaxed than Jax had ever seen her.
From then on, his night got a little bit hazier.
“Yeah, Zooble!” Gangle cheered with a raspy vigour.
Zooble had just downed a shot of… something. Jax couldn’t quite recall. He was sitting at the banquet table, watching Zooble and Pomni verse each other in some sort of drinking contest. His head rested against his hand, positioned towards Pomni, whose cheeks glowed in a bright flush.
It was Pomni’s turn to drink, which she downed with a cute scoff that crinkled her nose. She gagged and shook her head, before beaming at Zooble victoriously.
“Didn’t think you could take that much,” Zooble taunted lazily.
Weird phrasing.
“Thasswhat I said to y’mom last night.”
The words spilled out of his mouth before he could even think. Zooble’s disgusted facial expression was worth it, adding to Pomni’s uncontrolled snort, spreading into a cackle. Ribbit used to cackle like that.
“What’s he even saying?” Gangle asked softly, too softly.
“That’s what…” Pomni giggled, glancing to Jax from the side as she was unable to control herself. “That’s what he said to your mom last night.”
“Woah~!!!!!” Jax cheered, grabbing Pomni by the shoulders. She was still laughing humbly, not knowing how fucking cool she was. He pulled her under his arm, careful to not let his hand accidentally brush those exposed tops of her boobs he tried so hard not to look at. He missed boobs, and they were such nice ones. “She gocha Zoobie!”
For once, Zooble didn’t fight it and just laughed along with them. Everyone was laughing. Pomni and Zooble continued their competitive banter. Pomni was so good at banter. It didn’t matter what she said, everything was hilarious. She leaned into him after every joke like she trusted him. Pomni shouldn’t have trusted him, but luckily, Jax wasn’t going to be there for long. He might as well have savoured her in another type of colourful bliss before Ribbit took him back.
“Aw f-boink-k that was awful,” Pomni groaned with a cough, setting her small glass down. She looked around at the table. “Where are the chasers?”
“I’ll go get some,” said Ragatha, with an uneasy laugh. She was never any fun. Luckily, she had gotten up from the table and couldn’t nag Jax for every little thing he did.
Pomni turned to him with a heart-melting, kind of sloppy grin. Her eyes still twinkled cheekily.
“Wanna be my chaser?” she purred. He could have sworn Pomni’s eyes were set on his lips.
What did that even mean? Jax nodded. He could trust Pomni.
Suddenly, she yanked on his tie, forcing him down to her face. Her ungloved hand brushed the side of his face in a spellbinding motion that pulled him towards her. Their lips connecting sparked an excited heartbeat. Even her kisses were tender and considerate… and bold. Pomni slid her tongue in, licking the roof of his mouth as if she wanted to taste it, taste inside of him. In the shock, Jax’s mouth felt like pudding as Pomni maneuvered her way around it, sliding her tongue underneath his and pushing down against his mouth as if to say, ‘I own you’.
She made Jax’s voice squeak pathetically, in a way that was so unlike him. No, he had to fight back. Just when he swirled his tongue around, started battling for leadership, his mouth was empty and had just met the cold air. Pomni’s hand still gripped possessively around his tie like a leash. A string of saliva still connected their parted lips, but separated when Pomni turned to Zooble.
“You had your go yet?”
Jax didn’t care what their reaction was. The world was spinning and all his senses were numbed, as if to focus all his body’s attention on the memory of Pomni’s kiss. The ghost of her tongue brushed against his while all he could do was hopefully watch the funnest person in the room kick Zooble’s ass in whatever game they were playing.
Then Pomni drank something orange out of a regular glass. A chaser? Ragatha must have gotten it. The drunken dimness of his senses sharpened as Pomni drank.
“Did I no’ taste good ‘nough?”
Jax cockily flicked a lock of her short hair with his finger. It was so smooth against him, he couldn’t help but twirl that lock around.
“Oh, you tasted great, bunny boy,” she cooed. Good, then he needed Pomni’s tongue back. But he had to be subtle about it.
“Wanna ‘nother chaser?”
Pomni laughed, practically a rejection… wait no she leaned up towards him and gently pressed her lips against Jax again, but didn’t open her mouth. It was just a soft smooch, before she focused on the game again.
In his dim, dizzying surroundings, his eyes and mind solely focused on Pomni; when she drank, how she drank, how sweetly and carelessly she laughed. Jax wished she’d laugh like that more, instead of carrying the weight of other’s feelings on her shoulders.
A couple of times, Jax recalled himself asking, “Wan’ nother chaser?” until his mind came and went in patches.
________________________________________________________________________
Music filled the room with its thick, orange and yellow colour. Happy voices circled around him and bounced off the walls. Jax’s fingers playfully pressed and slid against the piano keys, almost vibrating his soul in a harmony he hadn’t made in years. It was a simple song, only based off a couple of chords, but he still remembered the main piano part enough for it to be impressive as shit.
“Sing us a song you’re the piano man~!” they sang together. “Sing us a song tonight. Well we’re all in the mood for a melody, and you got us feelin’ alright~!”
Then muscle-memory puppeteered his hands across the piano. He couldn’t believe he still remembered how to do that, even with purple hands that weren’t quite his own.
“It’s a pretty good crowd for a Saturday~” they continued. “And the manager,” he shot a playful glance towards Caine, not to include him but to emphasise the performance, “gives me a smile~”
Caine smiled on cue.
“Cuz he knows that it’s me~” Jax smiled when Pomni shouted, “Jax!”, “They’ve been comin’ to see, to forget about life for a while~”
“And our life is f-boink-ed!” Pomni adlibbed with a cackle. It was almost like Ribbit was back next to him.
“Yeah!” Zooble screamed throatily.
“And the piano it sounds like a carnival! And the microphone smells like beer~”
He could hear Ragatha’s laugh from somewhere. The last time he heard her laugh was on stupid sauce.
“And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar and say~”
“Rabbit!” Pomni yelled.
“‘What are you doin’ here?!’~”
Time for the solo. His hands glided across the piano, pulled by a long-unaccessed memory, but a wrong chord came, then another misplaced note. Fuck, he’d forgotten. The piano had stilted, but he stumbled up a bit of the tune until the chords finally built up to the chorus.
“Let’s f-boink-king go!” Zooble cheered with the build-up.
They sang the final chorus together, united in something other than confusion and horror. Memories and music swept through the room, enveloping Jax like they hadn’t had in years. The last time he felt that light, he was floating with the faces of his friends around him. This felt real, as if he was truly a part of something.
When Jax’s fingers rose from the last notes, they actually applauded him like he had told a funny joke, like he’d done something cool. He actually made people happy without the whole veneer of trying to be the “funny one”. He still wasn’t himself, hidden behind a mask of drunkenness, but at least he didn’t need to try.
Geez, what else did he remember? It had been so long since he’d been in front of a piano. He didn’t know what other keys to press next. What other songs did people recognise?
‘Mamma Mia’ – that was a classic and it was easy. His hands bounced across the keys in the quick opening staccato. Ragatha, of all people, cheered. Oh yeah, ABBA was definitely her kind of shit.
“I’ve been cheated by you since I don’t know when~” they sang, mostly off-key. All Jax was really doing was playing inverted versions of the main chords, but they seemed to enjoy it anyway.
Everyone, even Kinger, continued singing along with the piano. The lyrics came naturally to Jax’s lips as well, even though it would have been years since he sang the song. Ragatha came to the other end of the piano where the high notes were. She must have known the main piano part, a little more in-depth than the simple chords. Jax shuffled along the stool to make room for her, so his hands mainly hovered over the base notes.
Ragatha played the main piano melody as well as she could with practically four-fingers in total, while Jax deepened the sound with the bass notes and the main chords
Everyone sang, “Why, why~”
Then. tog-get-her. ris-ing-pia-no! BAM!
“Mamma Mia, now I really kno-ow~”
Ragatha squeaked excitedly.
“Why, why~”
Sec. cond-round-of. ris-ing-pia-no!
They continued playing together, he and Ragatha of all people. There would have been nothing else for her to do on the farm aside from learn an instrument and play with the animals. His long-time acquaintance, with the warm (but fake and insecure) smile, played alongside him, not to complete, but to simply cooperate. It was such a rare instance of harmony between the two.
When the song ended, there was more laughter and clapping. Jax’s fingers and muscles ached from the activity and all the other songs he knew left him. Suddenly, the world was spinning more violently and all he could think to do was it down properly, maybe eat something.
Or he could play another song, make people laugh at what he was doing before he went.
Fuck, it was too much energy. Jax stumbled on his heavy limbs, trying to keep straight on the tilting floor. The air pushed him to his side, into the piano stool, which tumbled to the floor. Jax’s world swerved upwards as his body flopped, almost on top of the toppled piano stool, until a sturdy (hot pink?) wall broke his fall. Two plastic limbs slid around him as he stumbled to the person holding him.
“Whoop! Holy sh-boink-t, Jax,” they chuckled good-naturedly. Zooble guided him like a pillar towards the table again. “Come on, let’s sit you down.”
Sitting down sounded nice, especially when his body insisted on turning into jelly and flopping down onto Zooble like a stuffed toy. Through his heavy blinks, he could see the blurry buffet table making its way closer while his body struggled to coordinate staying upright with walking. It wasn’t sitting down and moving his fingers.
“I’ve never seen him like this,” Gangle said from beside him.
Gangle and Zooble together, the lesbians.
“How’dchu do the update?” he asked, keeping his tone flat and curious.
“Oh my god,” groaned Zooble, with a laugh. “You keep going on about the sex update.”
Fucking Zooble, making a big deal out of everything and pretending they know everything about everyone
“I’vonly done once!”
“You’ve been pestering us all night,” Gangle laughed at his other side. Maybe that was true, but he needed to know what they felt.
“Hermy out, hermy out,” Jax started, his eyes closed. “Sayiff I gotta penis. And yall are naked all th-time. Where’s the lady bits?”
“Stop with the pretences, we all know you’re talking about Pomni,” Zooble snickered. Gangle murmured something to Zooble that he couldn’t quite hear, but it was definitely about how sex was very possible since Zooble asked.
“It’s notta Pomni thing,” said Jax, just as they stopped. A solid corner touched Jax’s knees.
The next thing he remembered, Pomni was right in front of him, smiling at something they were talking about. Her pink cheeks had spread into a thick line above her nose, across her whole face, almost making a pink glow reflect in her big eyes. One of the straps of her wedding dress had fallen off her shoulder, exposing more of her white breast.
She pointed at him, a little stupidly and giggled, “Do it, do the voice.”
“What voice?” Jax asked with feigned cluelessness. He let Pomni hear the Gollum impression once, and it was all she could ask about. His cheeks were warm and sore from all the smiling, not a painful sort of sore, but a satisfying ache like completing a long walk.
Pomni’s lips already curled on the brink of laughter. “You know what I mean.”
She looked so playful, so careless, yet her wide eyes looked at him as if she wanted to soak up every bit of Jax. Someone wanted him there. God, he missed that. He missed when he could just be himself, not a character, and just have things be easy. No one liked him with the mask and the people who liked him without it abstracted.
“Hey,” said Pomni, a little more gently. Her face morphed into her considerate, watchful expression. “What’s wrong?”
What was wrong? She was perfect, his only friend in the circus. If he could have just been in that moment forever, the circus would have been tolerable. But with great fun and great friends came their passing. Someone like Pomni didn’t deserve to be stuck with Jax for eternity.
“Nothing,” he said out of habit.
Pomni furrowed her eyebrows. “Come on. You’ve been so weird for the last couple’o days. Imma lil worried.”
“You don’t needa worry ‘bout me,” Jax said with a tenderness he didn’t think he was capable of. He’ll be out of her hair by the morning. “Just have fun.”
“It’s hard when… y’know… all this,” she slurred. There was a sober sadness in her tone, besides her tipsy delivery. Pomni opened her mouth to say something else, but Jax hushed her with his thumb brushing over her lips.
Their gazes were trapped in each other’s, bringing their faces closer. Pomni examined him without an ulterior motive; there was no ego or deceit in her eyes. She just wanted him.
Jax’s hand passed to the side of her face and gently stroked her cheek with his thumb. Pomni blinked slowly and brought her hand up to meet his own, their fingers intertwined over her cheek.
He tentatively pressed his lips upon Pomni’s bottom lip, tensing and untensing them in a slow rhythm with shaky breaths. She was lax at first. Did she want this? Jax could have sworn she wanted him at least a little bit. Pomni returned the gesture, sucking at Jax’s top lip with a contented hum.
Could he go further? As if to test the waters, Jax started to gently bite her bottom lip, guiding his other hand to the small of her waist while sliding his hand further along her face, just to curl his fingers around her hair again. Her nimble tongue parted through his lips, touching his own.
Was it careful? No, she’d made a bigger move before. Then she laughed, a little cheekily, before Jax felt a familiar tug on his tie. His light moan surprised him as Pomni forced his body towards her. Maybe she did want him, in every sense of the word, and she was playing with her food.
Pomni seemed to nurture his tongue by sliding under it while Jax rested his on top. No, Jax was the man, the confident one. He fought it back, pressing down on the bottom of Pomni’s mouth in an authoritative grunt. He was a fighter in a losing battle and moaned helplessly when Pomni swirled her wet tongue around his mouth, pressed it below his teeth and tightened her grip on his tie. Jax’s body pressed against her, close enough to feel her excited heartbeat, breathing heavily.
As they explored and fought in each other’s mouths, some other voices filtered in.
“See, I told you this was gonna happen,” said Zooble, from a little further away.
“Should we stop them or…”
“It was bound to happen.”
“He’s been leering at Pomni’s boobs the whole time.”
With the last comment, Pomni’s hand left the one touching his cheek and touched the one on her waist. Each time she touched his fingers, it was like delightful pins and needles tickling him. She guided his hand upwards, until they cupped one of her perfect, small breasts.
“Oh my god, Pomni,” someone laughed. “Guys we gotta stop them.”
“Girl’s gotta get some.”
“From Jax, though?”
“Please, she’s walking him like a dog.”
“I had a dog.”
Pomni’s grasp on him became more aggressive, hungry. Oh yes, just eat him, devour him whole. Jax’s hand tightened around her hair and he was going to trail them down-
“Alright,” said fucking Nagatha, literally wedging her doll arms in between the two. “Let's be a little bit more careful with ourselves.”
Jax’s lips were airy, absent, empty when they parted from Pomni’s. Like a witch, Ragatha snatched Pomni away, letting the jester lean against her as they walked around to the other side of the table. That must have been what dogs felt like when their owners left them by themselves, as if their whole world had been taken away and all they could do was wait for them to come back.
Zooble, Gangle and Kinger were next to him, talking about nothing as interesting as the game Pomni played with his lips and tongue. Luckily for Jax, there was a full jug of wine on the table to make things interesting. The warm feeling, from either Pomni or the alcohol, started to fade, and he was left with the thoughts of the next adventure intruding at the corners of his mind. No, there would be no next adventure, because he was going to abstract after that night. He’d said goodbye to Pomni; another goodbye would have been better, but they had said goodbye nonetheless.
Jax unhinged his jaw, exposing his spiky teeth as he lifted the jug towards his mouth.
“No, Jax, stop! You’ve had too much already,” Gangle whined at the same time Zooble cheered, “Holy s-boink-t let’s go! Drunk Jax! Drunk Jax!”
He poured the entire jug of wine into his mouth. He didn’t even taste it. He just swallowed everything with one large gulp. He smiled smugly at Gangle, whose comedy mask was on. Unusual. If his arms didn’t feel so tingly, he would have lunged across the table to snatch it away from her face.
“Break tha’ thingoff!” he commanded, pointing at Gangle’s comedy mask.
She started to laugh nervously, twiddling her ribbony hand-arm, things. “No thanks.”
“Iss, is too far t’reach.”
Jax pawed at the air, towards Gangle’s comedy mask. His mouth felt like cotton, tingly and springy. Zooble met his outstretched hand with their claw like a sloppy high-five. That was weak, barely a tap. Jax prepared his arm for another high-five, meeting Zooble’s playful glance. Smack! A hot, plastic shock struck his hand. Jax instinctively shook his stinging hand until the numbness took over.
“I almost like him like this,” said Zooble.
Kinger blinked absently at him but was smiling with his eyes.
Jax faded into himself singing again, leaning across the table and looking at Gangle of all people.
“If I had to choose a rose, in this garden of romance~” Jax sang at the same time Gangle sang the original Japanese version.
“Maybe we could take this chance~”
“chigau yo ne kedo~”
“MAY. BE. YOU’RE. MY. LOVE!~” they sang together.
The anime stuff all blurred together. There were mixes of half-thought, but passionate debates about any type of anime they had in common. Jax couldn’t remember what it was about, but Gangle won every argument, cheered by Zooble. It didn’t matter if Jax lost, because anime was for losers, which he pointed out to Gangle every chance he could.
“Don’ le’anyone!” he found himself saying, something really important. Jax pointed towards Ragatha’s forehead, his arm around her shoulders. “Anyone! Tell… tell you you’re not nice.”
She nodded politely because she was so fucking nice, of course she’d nod. “I think you should maybe just have a rest…”
Oh that bitch. Of course, she was trying to ruin his fun. Fucking Nagatha. They couldn’t die, didn’t need to sleep.
“Nononono. No. F-boink-k you. Issa circus,” Jax explained didactically. Somehow Ragatha wasn’t taking him seriously, seeming on the brink of laughing. “I don’ need arrest!”
And then one of the most truthful ideas beamed into his head, so true he had to stand up from the buffet table. How’d he get there? But everyone was there and everyone was looking at how he rose up from his seat. The audience! He was the funny one, who could be a prophet, like Jim Carrey.
“SLEEP IS A LIE!” he howled. “IT’S ABSTRACTION FOR PU-boink-IES!”
The sudden tilt of the world became so forceful it thrust him backwards, over his chair, then smack on the floor. The ceiling swirled above him, when a harrowing realisation dawned upon him: he just insulted cats and vaginas, which were both objectively good things.
“Oh my gosh, Jax are you okay?” Ragatha breathed, hovering above him like a EMT, but one that couldn’t stay in one spot.
“Whenni said pu-boink-ies,” Jax rasped, his voice involuntarily getting quieter. He had to get it out. “I- men’ cowards.”
The floor seemed to melt into his back like a pillow, still tilting back in quick loops, but a pillow nonetheless. It was so comfy, wrapping his body in a warm blanket. His heavy eyes heavily tried to focus on Ragatha and… holy shit, Pomni, she was belly-laughing above him. She knelt at his side, sincerely grabbing his hand. She was so good at being sincere.
“Not cats,” she replied. Good, someone was on his wavelength.
“An’ vaginas,” Jax asserted, fighting to keep his eyes open against the comfy floor. Pomni giggled good-naturedly, ready to listen to any of his problems. “I miss vaginas.”
He closed his eyes, submitting to the spinning floor beneath.
“This’ jusslike sraction,” he slurred. “Spinnin’… n’ …” fuck, he was tired, “I’m gonna nap.”
“Well, I hope you all enjoyed this adventure,” Caine announced from above him.
Bright light shone behind his eyelids as the ground looped so quickly that Jax could barely register if he was still lying down. Someone nestled their head onto his shoulder. From the hand balled tightly on his chest, Jax instantly knew it was Pomni. She was so sweet and cozy, like a childhood teddy. Jax drew her closer with a slight groan, letting her forehead press against his cheek.
“We really went back to basics on this one, tried to emphasise those human experiences. I know you miss parties and celebrations-”
“Nghh shuddup,” murmured Pomni, her voice vibrating pleasantly against his chest. Jax couldn’t help but chuckle and bring her closer.
Caine’s voice wafted in and out of his mind as Jax felt himself get carried away by the spinning floor, yet grounded by Pomni’s relaxed breathing. Sleep came and went in short spurts and the circus lights dimmed behind his eyelids.
Jax felt himself awaken when Pomni lifted her head from his chest. The pink flush on her cheeks had subsided into a gentle glow, but a drunken glaze still hung in her half-lidded eyes. It was a hungry gaze he could only just see in the artificial darkness of her room. Her regular costume was back on, jester hat and all.
Her body was so close to his, right on top. Coarse fabric separated their skin, but he could just feel all her curves etching into his own body. Pomni shifted her pelvis against his stomach, slowly. Intentionally. Her fingers traced along his ears like drops of cold water waking him up from a haze on a muggy day.
“You hittin’ on me?” was the only thing Jax thought of to say, lost in the hypnotic, slow, meticulous grinds of her pelvis along his stomach. Familiar heat trailed into his cock, throbbing helplessly under Pomni’s touch.
“Still putting on the tough guy act? Huh?” she purred in his ear.
Just before he could respond, a small bite clamped upon his neck
“Ah~” Jax moaned in a lighter voice.
His skin tingled, almost betraying him. It begged for her bites and his muscles begged for her control. Pomni’s lips trailed at the side of his neck in gentle bites and suckles. No, he had to be the one in charge.
A new vigour filled Jax’s muscles, and his hand swept under Pomni’s leg and he pushed her over. Pomni was beneath him, stuck under his throbbing body as he pinned her hands down. She smiled at him, almost smugly, waiting. She was lax under his grasp, but that was a front. Her teeth were sharpened, ready to devour him. Oh, that’s what it was, a challenge.
Jax dove towards her smooth neck. He nibbled sweetly, ironically like a rabbit, along her supple neck. Every one of her subtle gasps and moans were notes of a song he was determined to master. One hand loosened its grasp on her obedient wrist, trailing down her arms with his fingers until he reached the first button of her suit.
Her body was the only steady thing in the spinning room. His numb fingers fumbled on the first button, then the second, then the third, until the split of her clothes showed a crack of her white chest and stomach. Jax’s fingers slipped under her clothes, along her skin, until he met one of her perfect breasts. The nipple finally tickled his palm and he dared grab the dense but soft lump. Pomni hummed. He wanted to make her sing.
Muscle memory took over again and the tips of his finger and thumb circled and gently pinched her nipple. Like the other memories of that night, exactly what he did to Pomni’s body faded in and out. The ghost of her body hung on his lips and he remembered her temperate gasps when his tongue finally collided with her first nipple.
Her clothes were stripped off, leaving her exposed and vulnerable under his control. Jax remembered finally reaching her slippery vagina, beckoning him with his sweet perfume like a freshly bloomed flower.
And then she sang again. She started as percussion with her gasps, before her real tune sounded in pianissimo whines. A slight crescendo into a mezzo piano, her melody still long and smooth, a happy major tune when he played her with his tongue. Slippery saliva met the honey around her clitoris as his tongue circled around slowly, the buildup.
Romantic pieces started dolce, which Jax diligently made sure he felt with his entire body. It was not only the introduction to the tune, but a hint at the grand fortissimo awaiting them at the end. Her sweet, legato tune was too neat; primal but neat.
He didn’t remember the exact motions and feelings, but her song was strong.
“Auuoh~”
Finally, the voice was clear. His fingers were in her welcoming entrance. A wet, hot pool was tight but malleable around his soaking fingers. Then it was just like the piano. His mouth gave way to Pomni’s melody from her clit, when his fingers brought out the guttural basses hidden in her polite chest.
“Uahhh~ Ohmy~… Auw~”
His tongue brushed over her clit, quickly lapping with the cartoonish speed he knew so well how to master.
“OhwOOAAHH~”
Good, her voice was growing. Pomni’s squirms melted into the spinning room, so disorientating Jax barely knew where his tongue ended and Pomni’s keys began. Everything was hot, thumping, throbbing, beating, aching. All he knew was that she was belting, her voice was finally soaring. The longer he sped along her sensitive bump, the louder she became.
Then there were lyrics.
“Jax!~ Oh! AUGHHH! OHMY… I’m gonna, I’m gonna, UGH YOU’RE SO GOOD~”
The last comment made warmth flood his entire body. ‘Jax’ and ‘good’ were never in the same sentence.
“I’m gonna,” a low whisper again, “I’m gonna~” piano, “I’m gonna~” mezzoforte an animant, “I’m gonna!~” forte con brio, “OHMY I’M GONNA~ OOWWAGHH!” FORTISSIMISSISSIMO!
Hot, sweet juice poured from her pussy and Jax savoured every bit of it with his lips pressing against her wet flower.
The next thing he remembered, Pomni had somehow pushed him against the bed. Jax was exposed, naked like prey, looking up at a small goddess, thrusting his entire body back and forth against her bed. Her breasts bopped up and down with every dizzying thrust. Flurries of exhilarating rushes from the tip of his wet cock were triggered by sensations of gooey warmness that enveloped his entire shaft like a tight hug.
“Ah!” he whined, when one of Pomni’s thrusts sent a hot trickle up his burning cock.
“Good boy,” she panted, sliding her hands along Jax’s fur.
No, he was the one who had to play her-
Pomni snapped forward, tugging his ears to hold his head down onto the bed, as if sensing a struggle. It was painful, hot. She was hungry, her teeth were bared, and her eyes traced Jax’s body up and down, oh please devour him, his whole body ached for her to mould it to whatever she wanted. No, no, he was a man and needed to- tingling, warm everywhere, spinning, cock warm and comfy and sparking up and down his body- he was the man, needed control again.
“Someone’s grown a-” he started before Pomni pressed an assertive finger in the middle of his chest, where his ribs would have been.
Pangs and rushes of pleasurable tingles flashed from her finger, all the way down his body, melting into the cock and head rushes in a disorientating swirl. His own voice sang and whined and the room clouded into a white bliss, before turning back to Pomni. She bounced in front of him and wielded his body like a beacon.
“We can do anything in here,” she said with a smug pant. “I can just press your chest and have you absolutely melt under me.”
Jax wanted to fight but the ecstatic flurries made his body squirm lazily on Pomni’s bed. He needed to be on top; she was the sweet jester. But he felt so good and weak and like a circuit at the whims of passing electricity. Jiggling flesh bouncing against him, wrapping in slick fluid. Pomni was hungry.
She pressed him again. More pangs, more pleasure and electricity and happy aches through his muscles mixing in with every thrust. Everything tingled. Brilliant white pulsing in his vision.
“Good boy,” she repeated.
Jax nodded dumbly, trying to focus his eyes on Pomni’s confident face, but they moved on their own. His body was so sensitive like a pulsing heart and his face was numb and lax. Pomni’s breasts were bouncing right on front of him, but the thrusts forced his eyes to lose themselves in blankness. He needed… so good… warm… hot… shocking waves of sparks flurrying in him.
“Pomni~” he remembered himself whining.
Jax remembered himself whining, shouting, screaming her name in harmony with her low moans. He begged for her, stuck in a haze of Pomni. She was all there was. She demanded that he beg for her, and he obeyed helplessly.
“Please, please Pomni,” he moaned.
“Good boy, you’ve been so good for me,” she cooed, playing with that middle part of his chest. “Wanna cum?”
God, yes he wanted to cum so bad. Pressure built all over his body, stuck at the bottom of his shaft, begging to spill out. Pomni held the lid on his cock and had shaken it like a bubbling bottle, with all the pulsing flurries panging through his veins. Jax nodded again, his mouth feeling slack like she’d sucked all the life from it.
“How bad?”
Her voice was low, authoritative.
“Badly,” Jax rasped. Then his voice and mouth moved on its own. “Please, please. Let me come~”
“Keep begging.”
He didn’t know how long he begged, but his voice wasn’t his own. Jax was a puddle of pleasure, writhing under Pomni’s will. Pangs and electricity and pressure and hot, hot, hot pleasure ready to burst.
“You’re my good boy!” Pomni demanded, lost in the authority.
“I’m your good boy,” he responded, Pomni’s authority spellbinding him to her words.
“You’re my plaything.”
“I’m your plaything.”
It was the truest thing he’d ever said in that moment.
“Say that again.”
He needed to cum so badly. Tense and loose everywhere. “I’m your plaything.”
“Louder!”
She thrust against him harder and pressed that finger deeper against his chest. Immeasurable pangs of excitement everywhere. God, he needed to cum so bad.
“I’m your plaything!” he whined, begged. Let him cum, please. It was too much.
“So, you were lying, weren’t you?” she panted, trailing her finger along his chest. “When you said everyone was your plaything?”
She already knew Jax was lying. Why did she tease him when the pressure built up?
“YES YES! I WAS LYING!” he screamed.
“Then say what you are.”
“I’M YOUR PLAYTHING!”
And then it was like she pressed a button and that pressure, building up, suddenly released and oh, OH, he couldn’t control himself. Jax whined and writhed under Pomni, his body pulsed and pulsed and squirted himself into Pomni. Energy was sucked out of his limbs and then peace.
Then Pomni was next to him, their sweat and cum mixing together all over their flesh. She trailed her finger against his chest, but in a soothing way. His hand found itself on her face again, stroking her cheek with his thumb. Pomni’s eyes watched him attentively. For once, the roles were reversed. Jax’s eyes struggled to stay open while she stroked his chest.
“It’s okay,” she muttered. “You can sleep now.”
He didn’t need her permission, but Jax’s eyes had a will over his mind and drooped heavily. He blinked them open, needing to keep the status quo.
“Shh,” Pomni hushed, “don’t fight it. Just sleep. I’ll still be here.”
Heavy and warm... and cozy.
“I’ll still be here,” she repeated, her words wafting through Jax’s fading mind. “Just rest.”
Okay, Pomni…
Then it was the morning. And Pomni was next to him.
And he hadn’t abstracted.
Fuck.
