Somethings happen in the most unexpected times, and one of those might just be realizing that you're hopelessly in love with your enemy, just like Isagi. Because in between all the fighting and bickering he had with his enemy, Kaiser, he found his heart melting whenever Kaiser would flash him a genuine smile when it's just the two of them.
And sometimes, whenever Kaiser would get too close to his face, his heart would randomly start beating rapidly and his face would get hot.
It took him a while to accept that fact that he was actually in love with his enemy. The same enemy that he would steal pens from and hide them whenever they would piss him off.
It was a typical night when Isagi finally accepted his feelings for Kaiser. That day, Kaiser accidentally said, "Thanks, love you." when Isagi handed him a ballpen which immediately triggered a mental breakdown for Isagi.
Isagi rolled around his bed, unable to sleep until settling on laying on his back while hugging his lobster plushie as he stared at the ceiling.
"𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙨, 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪. " Kaiser's charming voice rang inside his mind, making him hit himself with a pillow.
"Dang it, why does he have to be so confusing. " Isagi said with his hands on his hair.
"Maybe because 𝙮𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚? " Bachira's cheerful voice suddenly rang in Isagi's mind, making his stop and think about what Bachira said to him.
Then suddenly, he sat up on his bed, clutching his blanket. "Shit—𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙢. "
It was the last day of school for Isagi and Kaiser, and it was also the first and last chance he'll ever get to express his true feelings for Kaiser. It's not like they won't meet again, but they won't meet again for two months, who knows if Kaiser gets a partner in those two months and Isagi suddenly loses his chance to confess.
Kaiser and Isagi were walking home after spending half the day at school and the other half at the arcade and football field. Despite being labeled as mortal enemies, the two deeply appreciated the other's presence, often being called inseparable.
Isagi had been acting quite weird, being more touchy towards Kaiser and such. He was also acting more nervous based on Kaiser's observations. His face also appeared more red but Kaiser brushed it off since he was more focused on finally being free from schoolworks.
Their hands brushed each other lightly as the walked down the street side by side.
The cold wind hit them harshly, Kaiser didn't mind, he was used to it because that's how the temperatures were at Germany, his hometown. But Isagi was shivering like crazy.
It was pretty dark outside since the two finished playing soccer against each other very late. Suddenly, Isagi stopped at a nearby street light.
"Hey, why'd you stop? " Kaiser asked, his hands in his pockets.
Isagi pulled something out of his pocket yet Kaiser didn't catch what it was.
"I-I have something to give you. " Isagi stuttered, avoiding Kaiser's gaze. The tip of his ears were red and Isagi's voice had a hint of nervousness in them.
Isagi took Kaiser's hand and placed something on his palm, the texture of the object reminded him of paper.
But before he even had the chance to look at what Isagi placed in his palms, Isagi suddenly dashed away. Leaving Kaiser confused and bewildered.
"H-Huh? What just happened? " Kaiser muttered, bewildered by Isagi's actions.
But then, he looked down at what Isagi gave him, it was a letter that had blue roses as a design. He carefully opened it and after reading it—𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤.
He tucked the letter in his pocket before racing after Isagi as his heart pounded against his chest. Luckily, he still had some energy stored up so he'd surely catch up with Isagi just in time.
As he ran, he thought about what just happened. How could he miss it? How could he not realize that Isagi was also in love with him? Was he actually this dumb?!
"Yoichi! " Kaiser yelled as he finally caught sight of Isagi still running. He extended his arm and caught Isagi's wrist, making the blue haired boy stop.
"Wait! " Kaiser was panting, trying to catch his breathe. He has never felt this much adrenaline in his life before.
Isagi looked back, his cheeks were a shade of light pink and he had a few tears in his eyes.
"𝙄 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤𝙤, 𝙞𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙩. " Kaiser announced, intertwining his hands with Isagi as he looked straight into Isagi's ocean blue eyes.
Isagi's eyes were the reflection, no it was the window to his soul—𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡.
"So... "
Kaiser walked towards Isagi slowly and put a hand on his cheek, despite the cold weather, Isagi's skin still felt warm like being near a fireplace and warming up while watching snowflakes fall from the sky.
"𝘿𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙘𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚. " Kaiser pleaded in a sickeningly sweet voice that made Isagi's heart melt.
Kaiser used his thumb to wipe away the tears in Isagi's eyes.
"𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙛𝙞𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙔𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙞. " Kaiser looked at Isagi, silently asking for permission and Isagi blinked yes. The two's lips touched each other.
And in that moment, nothing else mattered other than them and their undying love for each other beneath all the rivarly and arguements.
After they pulled back, Isagi hugged Kaiser and Kaiser, being the lovesick idiot he is for Isagi, melted into Isagi's warn embrace.
"Three years... That's how long I've been waiting for this moment to happen. " Kaiser muttered, snuggling up to Isagi.
"And I spent two years thinking that you wouldn't like me back because I thought you only saw me as a friend. " Isagi sighed before a small laugh followed after. "How stupid of me. "
"But... That doesn't matter now since I finally have my annoying yet charming enemy in my arms. " Isagi looked down at Kaiser and smiled. It was a smile that was only reserved for Kaiser—warm and sweet.
