Summary
After the death of his boss, Duncan heads to Las Vegas to participate in a poker tournament hosted by the ambitious tycoon Gawain Ashford. Lost in the lights, he begins to discover exactly what he wants from life, until one fateful evening threatens to ruin it all.
The Targaryens are as powerful as they are infamous. During the Great Depression, Aegon Targaryen ordered the construction of the Hoover Dam. Now, their influence stretches across the Strip, branding most establishments with a sinister red dragon. Duncan's bad luck, or perhaps fate, puts him directly in the path of Aerion Targaryen, whose violent interest is dangerous and unwelcome.
Aerion's older brother, Daeron, is different. Charming, unpredictable, and disturbingly persistent, he might be Duncan's key to surviving the dragon family. He might also teach him what it means to want something more than survival. A shame, though, that the only thing consistent about Daeron is his level of intoxication.
