Link puts the key in the lock and twists. He opens the door and sets his sword on the tile by the door. “I’m home” He announces. Zelda rushes over and kisses him on the cheek. Warmth radiates off of her and Link feels better after a long day of work.
“It seems like I never see you these days, whether it’s work or training. I miss you.” Zelda whispers.
“I miss you too. But you know, life of a hero I guess.” Link instantly feels guilty when he says it. He gives Zelda a kiss and starts walking to the bathroom. The faucet turns on and sound drowns out the thoughts in his head. Scrubbing the guilt and dirt off his skin, he finally feels clean. He closes his eyes for a moment and thinks of Revali’s, then Zelda’s. Both are equally fantastical . If only I could choose. He thinks distantly. Link gets dressed in his evening-wear and slips into the cold sheets of he and Zelda’s bed. “Night.” Link says quietly. Zelda slips into bed as well but they don’t touch. Link is frigid even though Zelda is right beside him. The past few months he and Zelda have both been acting distant. Link cannot imagine it’s for the same reason. The truth was that he and Revali had been behind Zelda’s back for the past three and a half months. As Link finally drifts off to sleep he can feel Revali’s beak on his mouth. Oh how I miss him. Link wishes that Revali was between them.
When Link drifts off to sleep he dreams. He is being pulled in two ways. He looks at his right and he sees Zelda. When Link looks to his left a feathery lover is looking back at him. They are both begging for his help. Link, the hero he is, saves both of them. Link gets kisses on each of is cheeks and grins his butt off. He hopes this is how his story will end in real life. A guy can dream.
