Chapter Text
After crossing the finish line, it was time for the Winning Live.
Before I could get ready, my trainer, named Toyoko Kimura, showed up.
"Congratulations Agnes Digital, you've won your first G1 race. Do you know what this means? This means that you've achieved one of the greatest honors in the entirety of Japan!" She said joyously.
"Trainer! There were so many glorious Umas there; they were running so greatly, I could just die right now and I would be happy, imsosohappyatthispointthaticouldexplode-"
"Agnes Digital" she cut me off in the middle of my rambling as she sighed loudly.
"Yes, trainer?"
"Don't forget that you've just won a G1 race. I know that you're, like, right at the end of your Classic Year, and you definitely had it coming, but many Umas don't win a G1 in their entire life; many don't even ever debut, while you just went and won it while setting a record of the race"
"I'm not that great, trainer my oshis are far better. I'm nobody compared to them"
"Nonsense Digital, you went from 15th to 1st so fast that I barely even knew what was happening"
That was true… someway, somehow, I managed to go through the entirety of the pack and ended up first. I couldn't even understand how that happened; just poof, and suddendly I - the 13th favorite—am first.
"I was just so excited at the final spurt; so many great Umas were around me, I don't even know what happened"
"Don't worry, Digitan, what matters is that you won" she said very calmly before smiling brightly.
"Well, I have nothing else to say. You're ready to sing 'Instinctive Speed,' right?"
"Yes ofcourse trainer, I've watched it far too many times to forget it"
"Okay, then get ready, Queen of the Mile" she smirked while saying my new title, which I obtained thanks to winning the Mile Championship, before she left.
After the concert and all the interviews, I was once again able to see my trainer.
"So trainer, what race do you think I should race in next?" I asked her as soon as I returned.
"I think that we'll take a break this year. There's no chance that you can beat both TM Opera O & Meisho Doto, but next year, hmmm," she paused for a few seconds.
"What do you say about the Kyoto Kimpai? It's a G3 in early January; I believe that it'll be on the 6th. What do you say?" "Yeah, I'd love to; it's right up my aisle too, seeing as it just became a mile course this year" "
Okay, so I'm going to sign you up. For now rest, you deserve it"
We then proceeded to get our train, at which point I fell asleep
