Chapter Text
Joel is a pretty cool guy. After being a single child for 18 years (and more to come) he felt that he knew what loneliness was.
Long afternoon, silent morning and cold night. But that never compared to the silence of college nights.
College was a different kind of loneliness. Without friends and all, Joel was going mad. He did have human interaction but still… It felt weird. Too weird.
College started and a month passed in a blink of an eye . And they also had a test which he felt he did great. But his marks say otherwise.
‘No worries tho’ he thought. He can catch the marks in next exams. Now ? You may ask .
Joel lies in his bed, in his lonely apartment. ‘Being away from family is the worst’ he thinks.
After all these years being with his parents ,hearing their voices from another room or seeing them in the living room ….now
Now suddenly he was alone in an apartment, the cold darkness enveloped him and everything felt too big , too empty…..
“Man, I need to get a grip” Joel mutters to himself
*Ring *ring
The unexpected sound started him and he looked at the lit ringing phone.
‘Who could call me at this hour? ‘ Joel questions himself
*an unknown number
Against his better judgement—Joel answers the call.
“Hello? Is this Joel beans ?”
The voice on the other end was warm…. Nice, already warming up the cold apartment . Joel could have sworn that the voice belongs to an angel.
“Um- uh yes “ Joel cleared his throat quickly “ That's me.. um..who is th- this?..mm ,”
“ Lizzy eclipse here “
Oh.
“Oh hey~... Umm, hi Lizzy “ stammered Joel, immediately cringing at himself ‘IDIOT’
“So Joel, let's get to business, ok” Lizzy tone shifted seamlessly into something professional
“See I am part of the fashion designing department.”
Joel sat up, like an interview.
“ As for my project for the first semester, it's making formal wear for boys and girls.” she continued “ And I need a model”
A model
Joel was glad that this was a phone call because he felt like his face was on fire.
“y–you want me to model ?”
“umm yes” Lizzy announced boldly as she already finalized the outfit for Joel . Maybe she already did.
“I mean , umm… s-sure i guess…” he said before his courage vanished, “wh-where can we meet?”
“Tomorrow at college cafe” Lizzy says in a light tone. “No pressure! Ok!”
“Ok “Joel smiled like he won the lottery. “thank you, Good night Lizzy”
“Good night, beans and Thank you ~” she said sweetly before ending the call.
Joel looked at the doorway, half surprised and shocked just what happened…
He dropped his phone onto the bed and flopped back dramatically, staring at the ceiling once more.
“What just happened?” he said out loud.
The cafe
Is wearing a tie to a coffee regarding a model too much?!!
Maybe , but Joel wants to show that he is great for the job after all. He couldn't sleep last night.
That angelic voice kept him awake all night. This might be cliche but Joel just can't stop hearing that voice.
It was like the sun after a harsh storm, that was loneliness.
He was wearing his cleanest, most classiest outfit. A white shirt, with some formal pants, of course the tie.
His mother would have been proud. After all, Joel was a person who rocked a hoodie for graduation, much to his parents' concern.
Now he is tapping on the coffee, hoping that time will pass at any moment.
To be honest, Joel didn't know what this Lizzy eclipse looked like. Will she be taller than Joel? Well that would be embarrassing.
Will she be beautiful as the voice? What kind of questions was that, of course Lizzy will be beautiful. Maybe he is losing it.
He looked down at the coffee. Which is losing its heat. Maybe he should complete it. But he knew that he couldn't tho. For some reason Joel was nervous.
Nervous, him , a person who wore a sherk costume for most of the school years. Him who did the daring tricks in skateboarding.
Him who casually moonwalks into the wrong class most of the time, Was nervous. Maybe he is losing it.
Then he felt it. The bell of the cafe rang, informing that someone had entered, the air around him shifted.
Joel felt warm, he felt at home. Then he heard it.
“ Hello”
That voice, the angel arrived.
He looked up at the women in question. She had the softer pink hair, up in two buns. Her skin, warm but glowed signifying her charming.
Her smile, the sun will shy away from her, knowing that it was defeated.
Those eyes, those ocean blue eyes. Telling a million things at one. But most of all nervousness.
Yep, Joel is done for.
Joel stood up, the chair squeezed which made him cringe.
“Joel beans right?” Asked the angel
“The one and only” he said, though his voice betrayed him a bit. He cleared his throat “Lizzy right?”
Noded Lizzy as she stood near the chair across. And dropped a folder on the table.
“oh please do sit” Joel smiled nervously, Man he is losing it. He staring at the cold coffee “sorry I didn't get anything cause i didn't know what you like”
“It's fine ,but thanks” said Lizzy “I have to say beans, i did asked for a model for formal attire but i didn't expect you to follow for meeting too”
“Haha, yea i thought the tie was a bit too much too” joel added which a chuckle “have to show that i am fit for the job right?!”
Lizzy giggled, and oh my god it was like some bells ringing in the wind. Joel looked at Lizzy, and with the evening sun setting it created a halo around Lizzy, making her glow.
Joel blinked. What did he do to deserve this? he thought as he melted. He was down bad wasn't he.
“Soo umm. So about the project” Lizzy straightened up “I thought we would start tomorrow.”
“Y-yes” Joel cleared his throat, ‘man today isn't my day ‘ he thought. “soo what should I do?”
“Well,” Lizzy turned her head, pink dusting her cheeks, “you are going to select the dress!”
“ME!” Joel exclaimed, as he felt heat rising to his face “you want me to choose!”
“Yea .. well you are modeling this is the least i can do” Lizzy whispered, now looking directly at Joel.
‘Oh my god , I am done for.’
