Chapter Text

Nick has been dating Charlie for several weeks now. He hasn’t had a lot of luck with love in the past, but things with Charlie are going well, really well. Nick really likes Charlie, a lot.

It’s not that Nick isn’t enjoying sex with Charlie, sex with Charlie is amazing…

It’s just that he’s a guy who enjoys lots of things in the bedroom.

It’s not that Charlie is boring by any means. Nick is just kind of hoping for something else, but he’s feeling a little nervous to ask.

Nick picks his moment carefully to broach the subject. They’re still naked, post-sex, but have cleaned up and come down from their highs. In these moments with Charlie, Nick feels comfortable, safe. Whilst the flirting, and the banter, and the passion all excite Nick, it’s these soft, tender moments of contentment that tell him to never let this man go.

Nick takes a deep breath. Here goes nothing. “Char?”

Charlie hums against Nick’s chest in reply.

“I was thinking… you see, the thing is… I’m not sure if you know, but…” Nick stops and starts trying to find his words. He doesn’t want to overexplain, yet he doesn’t want to make Charlie feel pressured or like he’s not enough for him.

Charlie, clearly sensing Nick’s anxiety, sits up and looks down at Nick with soft eyes. He places a gentle hand on Nick’s chest and smiles kindly. “It’s okay, Nick, you can tell me anything.”

Nick’s heart swells to three times its usual size. Of course Charlie will understand. Charlie is an open minded guy. Even if he isn’t into the idea, he won't hate Nick for feeling how he does, for wanting what he wants. Nick is just worried that Charlie won’t like what Nick wants.

“Um, it’s just that…” Nick starts. He’s feeling a bit too vulnerable looking up at Charlie, so he shuffles to sit beside him instead. “Well, you know I really like you, right? Like, really like you!”

Charlie lights up with an adorable grin and nods. “I get that impression, yes. And I really like you too, Nick.”

“Really?”

“Wasn’t it obvious?”

They giggle together, Nick feeling his cheeks heat up with an odd mix of embarrassment and joy. Honestly, he knows why their friends (affectionately) call them insufferable, but he doesn’t care in the least.

“What did you want to say, Nick?” Charlie traces his thumb over Nick’s forearm idly, putting Nick at ease.

“I, well, I don’t know if you know, but I like both.”

Charlie gives him a slightly confused look for a moment, then a small nod. “Yes, Nick. I mean you did tell me the night we met, remember? And, I mean, it is kinda obvious.”

“I did?”

Nick thinks back to the night they met. It was Tara and Darcy’s New Years Eve party. There was an instant connection between him and Charlie. Sure, he was a little tipsy, but they talked all night, even shared a kiss at midnight. Nick went home with Charlie’s number saved in his phone and the biggest smile on his face. He’d not wasted any time, texting Charlie the next morning to ask him to brunch. They’d been inseparable ever since.

However, Nick cannot for the life of him remember telling Charlie anything about his preferences. Charlie has seemed happy so far, and Nick hasn’t wanted to complicate things, not when he’d met the man of his dreams and was hoping they would be together for a very long time — preferably forever. Nick didn’t want to do or say anything that could break the spell, or put Charlie off him. But now, the more they got to know each other, the deeper he fell for Charlie. Nick knew that if he didn’t say anything now, he’d be living a lie, and Charlie didn’t deserve that.

Charlie’s brow furrows and Nick realises he hasn’t said anything in quite some time. “Sorry.”

“No sorries, Nick. You can talk to me.”

Charlie’s tone is soft and Nick knows he can, he can trust him. “I am just wondering if that would be something you’d be okay with?”

Charlie frowns with confusion then his eyes go wide and the colour slightly drains from his face. Nick starts to panic.

“No, it’s not that important, if you’re not… just forget I said anything.”

Charlie looks closely at him, his alarmed expression softening slightly. “No, Nick, it's okay. I guess I should have seen this coming. I just didn’t think you’d be… You said you like both, I just didn’t expect you actually want both.” He bites his bottom lip, eyes darting away from Nick’s gaze.

Nick’s starting to feel like a bit of a dick for bringing it up now. Charlie is clearly uncomfortable. Nick’s instincts tell him to retreat and never broach the subject again. But he knows if he did that it would be unfair to himself. Nick has put a lot of work into overcoming his people-pleasing tendencies. Just because he’d met the man of his dreams doesn’t mean he won't be true to himself. He doesn’t expect anything from Charlie, he just needs him to know. If Charlie likes the idea, well that would be great, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Perhaps he needs a different approach to get this conversation flowing. “So, have you ever tried…”

Charlie’s eyes go wide. “Me? Oh god no. Definitely not. Have never even thought about it.”

“Okay…” Nick’s heart sinks.

Charlie’s brow furrows sympathetically. He places his hand in Nick’s and gives a little squeeze. “I do really like you Nick, I’m sorry if I’m not enough for you.”

“No, Charlie, you are! You are absolutely enough. I, just, it doesn’t matter if you can’t or don’t want to… You are enough for me. Please believe me!”

“Okay… I do believe you, I just… I wish I could somehow give you everything you needed, but, I’m just not… and I can’t bear the thought of letting someone else—”

“Oh, god, no! Charlie! I would never want to be with someone else! I only like you! I’d only want that with you. And if you don’t like it, then I totally respect that. I just thought it was important to tell you. I don’t want there to be secrets between us.”

Nick puts all the sincerity he can muster into his expression. He's surprised by the amount of confusion that lingers in Charlie’s eyes. Charlie opens his mouth as if to say something but then shuts it again. He does this several times before speaking.

“I, I guess I didn't realise that would be an option… I mean if you really… You would really want to do something like that with me?”

“Of course with you, Charlie. But you really don’t have to.”

“I’m just a little surprised, I guess. I mean, you could really see me like that?”

“Of course I could.”

“I guess…” Charlie trails off, his expression contemplative as if he’s mulling over the idea. “Well, I suppose a bit of roleplay could be fun.”

The idea of needing to roleplay is a little confusing to Nick, but if getting into a character is what works for Charlie he's not going to argue. “Yeah?”

“Yeah, I think I’m kinda coming around to the idea.”

Nick tries and fails to hide his excitement, “Really? Are you sure? I’d never want to make you feel uncomfortable, or do anything you’re not into.”

“Nick, really, it’s okay. I want to do this for you. Please let me.”

Nick feels his body tingling with excited nervous energy. Charlie really is the best boyfriend ever!

Nick is nervous. Honestly, he’s slightly miffed that Charlie has asked him to come to his place and to ‘be prepared’. He gets that Charlie is probably nervous, but surely he understands travelling on public transport can be a little uncomfortable. But he wasn’t going to argue. Depending on how this goes, it could be his one and only opportunity to do it with Charlie.

Nick knocks gently on Charlie’s door. “It’s unlocked,” Charlie calls. “I’ll meet you in the bedroom in a moment. Get yourself ready for me.”

Nick’s stomach does a little flutter, he kinda likes being told what to do. He leaves the door to Charlie’s bedroom slightly ajar and undresses. He contemplates leaving his trunks on but decides to go all in. Nervously, Nick tries out different poses on the bed, wondering what Charlie would find the sexiest way to find him. Charlie did tell Nick to make himself ready for him.

The bedroom door creaks open.

“What the?!”

It’s not the reaction he was expecting, so Nick turns around. His jaw hits the floor when he takes in the vision of Charlie standing there in white knee high socks, a hot pink, pleated mini skirt that barely covers his crotch, a matching hot pink crop top with straps that hang off his shoulders. To top it all off, he’s wearing a rather synthetic-looking blonde wig and has a full face of makeup, including dark eyeliner and hot pink lips to match the outfit.

What the? Indeed.

There is a stunned silence that lingers in the rooms for an indeterminable amount of time. Eventually, the sound of Charlie’s laughter breaks it. Nick only takes about three seconds longer before the realisation dawns on him, and he cracks up as well. It’s several minutes before either of them compose themselves enough to talk.

Charlie wipes the tears of laughter from his eyes. “You’re vers,” he says.

“Yeah,” Nick manages, still giggling slightly.

“I am such an idiot,” Charlie groans. “You must think I am so stupid. Do I look ridiculous?”

Nick's smile never falters. He sits on the edge of the bed and reaches for Charlie’s hand to pull him in close. “I mean, I was definitely not expecting this, but you definitely don’t look ridiculous.” He runs a hand up Charlie’s thigh slipping just under the hem of the skirt. “I like it, actually.”

“You do?”

“Well, yeah,” Nick spreads his legs a little more, Charlie’s eyes dart down and go wide when they see how hard Nick is. “But not because I’m bisexual. I think you’re hot because you’re you. You’d look hot in anything.”

“Sap,” Charlie teases, and they both giggle again.

Nick shakes his head and cringes. “If anyone looks ridiculous — I mean you clearly weren’t expecting to find me to be in that position. But when you said to get myself ready for you…”

“I must say I was taken aback,” Charlie laughs. “Oh god, you must have thought I was being such a dick, telling you to prepare yourself.” Charlie drops his face into his open palms. “I am so sorry, Nick.”

“No sorries, Charlie.”

“No, I can’t believe how wrong I got this.”

“It’s not your fault, Charlie. I shouldn’t have been so vague. ‘I like both’ was a stupid choice of words for a bisexual to use.”

Charlie chuckles, “It really was.” Charlie’s smile turns coy before he starts nibbling on his bottom lip. “But in this context, I do too, Nick. I just didn’t think you did. Sorry for assuming.”

“No sor-” Nick starts, but Charlie cuts him off with a kiss. Nick grins into the kiss before breaking it to say, “Does that mean?”

“Yeah, if that’s what you want?”

“Now?” Nick doesn’t even try to hide his eagerness.

“Um, yeah, okay,” Charlie grins.

Nick pulls Charlie down on top of him, bringing their lips together in a searing kiss. Charlie plants a hand on either side of Nick’s head and pulls back. “Err, should I take all this off first?”

Nick’s eyes trace down Charlie’s body. He really does look good in the outfit. “Only if you want to take it off. But I think I like the idea of you topping me like this. Maybe lose the wig though, I need my hands in your curls.”

Charlie pushes himself up with a grin. He throws the wig to the floor. He then makes a little show of sliding down the little pink panties he has hidden under the skirt without breaking eye contact with Nick. Nick feels himself growing impossibly hard.

“In that case, I think you need to get back into the position I found you in, Nick.”

Nick pouts, “But I want to see you.”

“You will in a minute. I want to see you first.”

Nick does as he’s told while Charlie fetches supplies. The bed dips slightly as Charlie gets up behind Nick. “Fuck, you look hot like this, Nick.” Charlie runs his hands down Nick’s back before sliding them between the meat of Nick’s arse to spread his cheeks apart. He wraps deft digits around the flange of Nick’s bejewelled buttplug and gives it a little wiggle. Nick’s hole resists, quivers, then complies as Charlie twists, pulls and presses.

“Oh, wow,” Charlie sighs. “You really are into this.”

Heat rises in Nick’s face as he presses it into the pillows. Yes, his buttplug is by no means small. But then neither is Charlie. Charlie extracts the sizable plug with a well timed twisting motion. Nick is only left feeling empty for a moment before cool, slick fingers press in, testing his pliancy and deepening the stretch. Charlie pushes a bit more lube in before he tells Nick to roll over.

Nick complies, placing his hands behind his knees to hold his legs up and give Charlie the best access. Charlie rolls on a condom and coats himself in lube before meeting Nick’s gaze through those dark eyelashes, the mascara making them even longer than usual. Nick leans up, tilting his chin to invite Charlie in for a kiss. Charlie smiles coyly before leaning in. The kiss is sweet and short before Charlie whispers, “Are you ready?” against Nick’s lips.

“So ready,” Nick’s breathy reply.

They both let out a sigh as Charlie presses in. Nick does his best to relax. He hasn’t bottomed in a long time, and Charlie is quite big. Charlie moves slowly, allowing time for Nick to adjust. The burn and stretch of his tight passage eases as Nick concentrates on his breathing.

Charlie pauses once he’s seated deep. His body relaxes a little as he lowers it onto Nick’s and his face hits the pillow beside Nick’s head. Nick feels so full, full of Charlie, full of need. It doesn’t take long before Nick’s need is for Charlie to move.

“I’m ready,” he pants next to Charlie’s ear.

Charlie turns his head and places a wet kiss to the side of Nick’s cheek. He braces himself with his hands either side of Nick’s head and gives a gentle rock of his hips. Nick groans as his senses light up. It doesn’t take long before he is begging for Charlie to move faster, get deeper, go harder.

They are both lost to their bliss as they move against one another, panting words of endearment and encouragement into each other’s mouths as they kiss messily.

“You feel so good, Nick, like you were made for my cock,” Charlie moans.

“Yeah, I was, Charlie, and your cock was made for me. You were made for me.”

Charlie’s breath falters, his momentum slows, his eyes mist as his gaze intensifies. Nick takes in a shaky breath, anxiety spiking.

Has he said the wrong thing?

Has he been ‘too much’? Charlie’s expression softens, and the corners of his mouth twist upwards until his dimples pop. “Yeah,” he breathes. “We were made for each other.”

Nick wraps an arm around Charlie’s neck, pulling him into a searing kiss, rocking his hips up to meet Charlie’s renewed vigour. Their lips don’t part until they are both crying out in simultaneous ecstasy.

Nick giggles as he wipes the smudged eyeliner from Charlie’s cheek. “I like this look on you, but,” he leans closer to whisper against Charlie’s lips, “maybe, next time you fuck me, I can wear the skirt?”

Charlie giggles as he wraps his arms around Nick’s neck and pulls him in close. “Yeah. Or you can fuck me in it?”

Nick grins, “Yeah, we can try both.”

Notes:

I would be SO curious if this sort of misunderstanding has ever happened to anyone 🤭
