Summary
Nick Nelson is 31 years old and has recently inherited a ferret he never wanted from his ex-boyfriend who left him to sail around the world with a "new" boyfriend just six weeks ago. He finds himself stuck not only with Ruthie the ferret, but with six more months on a lease in Rye where he never pictured himself living and knows no one.
Charlie Spring is a well-known gothic horror author who has purchased an old funeral home in Rye that he is slowly and lovingly renovating. He lets his veterinarian brother move in with him and convert the old medical facility of the home into a modern small animal clinic.
One random day, a concerned Nick brings his new ferret friend to the vet. As he sits in the waiting room, daydreaming as he frequently does about his long-lost crush from secondary school, he is shocked when a man that looks exactly like that crush steps out to call him back...

Summary
Nick Nelson's teacher TikTok account has gone viral for all the wrong reasons and he is finding it all a bit overwhelming. Working a side gig at a Christmas Tree lot run by Harry Greene, the whole thing has gotten completely out of control as Harry is taking full advantage of Nick's social media rise to get more customers (and maybe a few of Nick's rejects too *shudder*).
Charlie Spring, also a TikTok creator but with only a small and loyal following (bet you can't guess who his number one fan is...), finds himself carting a drunk Tao and Elle to this specific Christmas tree lot because Elle insisted on it, and she is not to be argued with in an inebriated state.
Elle bumps into her colleague Imogen at the lot, and it doesn't seem to be an accident. In fact, it seems like they have something else up their sleeves entirely. Whatever could it be...? *exaggerated winky face*
OR- I started writing this in November, never finished it in time for Christmas, but decided to pull it back out because I live where it is very cold, I am stuck inside, and finishing this fluffy little thing made me very happy. Now that it's done, I figured I might as well share it even though its the middle of January.

Summary
An exhausted Nick Nelson, moved without warning from teaching his favorite little year-twos, into teaching year-six, is desperate to find the right book to read to his class to help them learn emotional regulation.
Charlie needs the same book Nick is looking for as part of a research program he is doing on children's literature and mental health.
They end up in a flirt-off in the young adult fiction row at their favorite local bookshop that ends very well for both of them.
Plus, a miserably bored Tao makes an appearance.
*Or: An adorably awkward Nick mistakenly asks grad student Charlie for help in his local bookshop, not realizing he doesn't work there. As luck would have it, they both need the same book. How will they decide who gets it? *

Five times that Charlie and Nick's teachers secretly meddled, and the one time they were invited to.
OR
Each time I rewatch or reread this series I am irrationally bothered by the fact that NONE of the teachers seemed to notice or care about the bullying Charlie endured. For my own mental health, I created a little universe where at least some of them gave a damn and even had fun doing so!

Nick was always there in the mornings, in fact Charlie was pretty sure he never actually left, usually seeing him behind the counter when he’d leave for home at 2:00.
On the days Charlie wasn’t there, he wondered if Nick stuck to the same routine, or if he worked a different shift. Charlie went grocery shopping every Saturday at 1:30, usually his only trip into town, and he never once saw Nick. The handful of times a month he’d go in for other reasons, it would be Nickless as well. It was as if the man only existed inside of the building, Schrödinger’s Nick, he’d taken to calling it in his head.
(Or, Charlie’s a recluse writer who can’t seem to write his second novel and Nick is a former rugby star who now owns a bakery.)

Getting together just days before one of them move halfway across the country would be a stupid thing to do, right? RIGHT!?
Why, yes. Yes, it would. So how about waiting a couple of weeks before getting together - and then avoid telling your friends because they are interfering interferers who interferes? Not to mention annoying?
Charlie’s life is suddenly a lot more complicated than it used to be. Not that he’s complaining, though, because now there’s a Nick in it…

Summary
He’s been following the account @nellie.wiggles on Tiktok for about three months, and honestly, he’s slightly obsessed with it.
In the beginning, it truly was about the dog. He swears.
The first time he came across the account, it was of a video of Nellie’s famous wiggles, a compilation of the beautiful border collie in many different locations, standing between someone’s legs and wiggling, stamping, and jumping. Not only had the trick been enough to make Charlie smile, but the little song her owner sang with the wiggles made his heart melt in his chest.
AKA The one where Nellie is popular on social media, and Charlie is a little bit in love with her human.
