And They Were Roommates

Summary:

Sharpness is a student at Strength University. A rather known school for its different classes, and yet.. he can’t seem to attend any of them.

Having to deal with his almost nocturnal schedule and annoying roommate, JudeLow, how could he possibly graduate?

Hopefully his professors don’t get him kicked out of the school at this point.. he’d never hear the end of it.

Chapter Text

Sharpness opened his eyes with a groan of exhaustion as the light of the morning sun shone through the blinds.

He really didn’t want to go to class.

He eventually rolled onto his back, staring up at the popcorn ceiling of his dorm. The only noise that filled the silence was the sound of the mini-fridge running.

The blonde looked over to the other side of the room, expecting to see his roommate, Judelow, but nope. Of course Jude always woke up early and went to class on time while Sharpness slept in.

“My professor’s gonna be so mad at me..”

Sharpness sighed, rubbing his eyes with the heels of his palms. No matter what, he always missed his first or second class of the day. That’s why he always stayed up late, trying to finish notes and assignments he couldn’t do in class.

Kinda depressing that he could barely do his own assignments, but whatever. That’s no way to start his day anyway.

He pushed himself up from his lying form, hair dragging against the sheets a bit from how long it was when loose. Scratch that, it was just lengthy either way.

With a groan in exhaustion, Sharpness has finally managed to swing his legs over the side of the bed and stand up. He immediately regretted leaving the comforting warmth of his bed.

The blonde ran a hand through his hair with a yawn while he walked over to the bathroom. Mainly so he could take a shower, but also because he was worried about how his hair looked currently.

Sharpness stood in front of the mirror. It reflected his perfect image, emerald green eyes that were less saturated, messy blonde hair that cascaded down his back.

It was rather surprising how he could still look good in the morning. Well, sometimes. That’s not what he was here for, though. He needed a nice, hot shower to start his day.

And he did just that. Eventually Sharpness had gotten into some comfier clothes, now sitting as his desk as he began to dry his hair with the blowdryer. It took way too long for it to dry naturally, especially with how much hair he had..

Sharpness frowned at the thought before setting his blowdryer to the side and pulling the plug out of the socket. JudeLow would lecture him like crazy if he hadn’t unplugged it.

Speaking of JudeLow.. where even was the guy? They had a few classes together, especially in the afternoon, but not during this hour. He tried to trace over conversations he had with the rabbit, tried to think about what the guy’s major was.

JudeLow adored pranks, mainly with some crazy mechanism you wouldn’t think of a day in your life.

Sharpness grumbled quietly before it hit him, “Engineering! God, I forgot Jude was majoring in that,” he chuckled, pushing away from his desk and looked out the window. The curtains had been drawn back, revealing the bright sun that immediately blinded him.

Okay. He was definitely not going out to class with how bright it was outside. He knew he could just write a note to his professors.. not smart to keep skipping just because he didn’t want to go, but whatever.

.. Yeah, he’s writing a note.

JudeLow walked through the hall with a grumble, “Today has been so long.. now I have two projects I need to do for my engineering class.” He complained.

Who cares, he’s done with his classes and he can finally be at his dorm.. his dorm. That reminded JudeLow, what was Sharpness even doing?

When he had left to go to his first class of the day, Sharpness had been deep asleep, as normal. The rabbit hadn’t woken the blonde up, believing he would just come to class late, but that was just not true. Judelow hadn’t seen him even once since the morning, which wasn’t super rare for Sharpness, but still..

JudeLow had finally arrived at the door to his dorm. He couldn’t help but sigh from relief as he hooked his keys out from his pocket. The metal key slipped into the lock with a little struggle, but with a twist, the door was unlocked.

He opened the door, ignoring the rather annoying creak that came from its old hinges. Of course, he was met with the sight of Sharpness at his desk, not even doing his schoolwork but playing Minecraft.

See, JudeLow had nothing against the game, he played it himself, but that was all Sharpness did nowadays. From his memory, he hadn’t seen the blonde study even once.

“Sharp— are you kidding me?” Jude began, noticing the flinch that came from his roommate as Sharpness looked over at him.

Sharpness blinked once. Twice. Then he had finally found his voice, “Uh… whoops?” he smiled nervously, eyes already darting back to his monitor.

JudeLow narrowed his eyes at the blonde, a frown on his face as he spoke, “You’re so annoying, all you do is stay in our dorm!” he exclaimed, stepping into the room and closing the door.

The blonde had just shrugged at his words, as always, acting like a confused puppy. “Well, it’s not big that of a deal, right? It’s not like I’m failing,” Sharpness chuckled, finally looking away from JudeLow.

The rabbit felt the sudden urge to kill his incompetent roommate.

JudeLow just let out a sigh of annoyance as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. Sharpness was just.. a character, for sure. He never left their dorm, had the cooking that could kill someone with just the smell, and just never attended his classes.

Basically the complete opposite of himself. Now, JudeLow was a great student. One of the best, believe it or not, even if it was mainly from his engineering projects. To him, he could never understand how Sharpness even gets by in university.. it was a shock to him, really.

“Okay, whatever, what have you been doing all day? Hopefully working on your classes.”

”Playing Minecraft.”

”What.”

”What?”

JudeLow could only stare in shock. Really? That’s all Sharpness did? Just play that game? It seemed like insanity to him, which it probably was!

”Sharp— this is why you’re always up at 3 A.M shaking me awake to get answers for our tests! You’ve really done nothing all day?”

He could see the pout that grew on Sharpness’ face and that made him.. even more annoyed. All the blonde did was sit around and do nothing! Hell, JudeLow had to mainly do the laundry for both of them, too.

The blonde had rolled his eyes at JudeLow before finally pausing his game and looking at him. “I’m just not motivated. Trust me, I’ll lock in for the important stuff. Right now, though, I’m fine. There’s no reason to worry,” Sharpness assured.

As much as JudeLow didn’t believe that, he couldn’t help but drop the argument. He’s had a long day, he shouldn’t end it with nagging his roommate about his life. JudeLow played a more gentle tone, voice softening around the edges as he spoke, “Okay.. just don’t wake me up tonight if you’re too lazy to figure out the answers.”

With that, JudeLow turned his back to Sharpness and walked away.

JudeLow was so lucky. He had managed to get a dorm with a few rooms— one for himself, Sharpness, one bathroom, and a small living room with a kitchen attached to it. Yeah, he was definitely lucky compared to some of his friend’s dorms.

He had even heard from Tai that his roommate and him had struggled to even fit a small couch in their dorm. The thought made the rabbit shiver.

Well, that still wasn’t his problem. He dropped his bag onto the floor, hearing a small thud. Surely it’d be fine— if the people on the floor under them could deal with Sharpness and him arguing, they couldn’t care less.

The rabbit flopped onto his bed with a heavy sigh. The warmth of his many blankets and sheets were comforting, like  sitting in front of a fireplace in the winter with a nice cup of hot chocolate..

It made sense that he had drifted off to sleep so easily. Especially with everything he had done in his day.
