Buck was on the way to the fire house 118 as he decided to take a shortcut, he was already stressed that he is going to be late.
Omega Buck woke late after he lost the warmth and the pillow, he didn’t notice at first that the alarm clock didn’t work and he didn’t want to disappointed his Alpha for arranging him the trial period and the opportunity to work alongside him.
The scream was so loud that Buck turned around, trying to find where the source of the scream and to notify the police, but he found nothing.
Buck went to investigate, wanted to see if he can find whoever got hurt so they’ll at least get a medical treatment.
Buck was cautious, not wanting the prep to catch him. Buck sighed in relief as he entered the warehouse, seeing no one walking, and then as he walked inside, he spotted a woman bleeding fast.
Buck hurried to her side, tore part of his shirt and tried to stop the bleeding as he pulled out his phone and tap the speaker as he lay the phone on the ground and tried to stop the bleeding.
“9-1-1, what’s your emergency?” The dispatcher asked.
“H… hi, my name is Buck Buckley, omega, I found the woman hurt in the warehouse, I’m trying to stop the bleeding.” Buck replied, tried to overcame his nervousness.
“Are you the one that hurt her?” The dispatcher asked as she typed on the computer.
“No… I heard a scream and started to investigate, I couldn’t keep on walking and doing nothing, can you let the ambulance know and come to this address?” Buck urged the dispatcher, his hands are covered with blood as he remembered the address of the warehouse before he entered.
“They are on the way, the police is too. You need to stay for questioning.” The dispatcher notified him.
“My Alpha is going to kill me for being late again.” Buck mumbled.
“I’m sure that when the Alpha will know why you were late, he won’t kill you, besides this call is recorded.”
“Much relief for that,” Buck said, and then he added, his voice hectic and he could feel his heart beat are stronger and faster, “where is the ambulance, I’m going to lose her, she already lost so much blood.”
The cop arrived first as the paramedics arrives from the 118, Buck knowledge the number of the firehouse.
“Buck, what are you doing here?” Alpha Eddie reached to him as he saw his friends taking care of the wounded woman.
“I took a shortcut, I didn’t want to be late for my trial period.” Buck replied.
Eddie picked up Buck’s phone, chatted a bit with the dispatcher to know the details and then he closed the omega’s phone.
Eddie said to his omega with a smile, “I’m proud of you, you handle the situation you had quite well.”
“You are?” Buck asked, forgotten the fact that his hands are covered with blood.
“I am.” Eddie confirmed.
“Take the towel, for your hands.” The bald black woman said as she gave him the towel.
“Thank you, Hen.”
“No problem, Eddie.” Hen said and hurried to help her teammate with the gurney.
Bobby, watched the scene, he was amazed of the omega’s action and seen the adrenaline still pumping him, and knowing that what he did will hit later and he is going to need his alpha for it.
“Eddie, why don’t you take the omega home, and returned together tomorrow?” The captain asked.
“Are you sure, Bobby?” Eddie asked.
“I’m sure, and if I know anything about what happened, I will let you know.” Bobby replied.
“Thanks, Cap.” Eddie said, taking the shaken omega with him.
“Is your cap is also a policeman?” Buck asked
“No, but his wife does.” Eddie replied.
When they reached home, Eddie took his omega to the bathroom, cleaned him and they he lay next to him on the bed, snuggling close to him.
“You did a great job, just next time, don’t take shortcuts.” Eddie said fondly.
“I need you next to me, my beloved omega.” Eddie added, giving a soft peck on Buck’s shoulder, his hands protecting the omega from anything that might come haunt him in his dreams.
