Work Text:
Simon was sickeningly in love with Ryland Grace, that was painfully obvious. Having been the only 2 humans living on Erid for the last 1.5 Earth years and having been together for around 6 months by now, they were like magnets to each other. Hell, when Grace had cut open the iron lung, he was convinced for days he’d died and went to heaven and that Grace had been some heavenly angel sent to save his tortured soul, in ways he really was.
Simon couldn’t grasp the concept of someone ever being this kind and gentle with him, even if Grace may have babied him a bit in the beginning, neither of them had had any kind of real human contact in a long time, whether it was because they were seen as nothing more than another foot soldier a majority of their life , or if they’d been drifting about through empty space for years. For a while, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other, even before they started to date, either one could wake up in the dead of night to the other pressed up against their back or simon woozily holding onto grace’s shirt for dear life as he sat in the tub to wash the caked blood from his body (He doesn’t remember that part, but grace sure as hell did).
The first year living together on Erid was nothing short of awkward, once Simon came to his senses he was much more standoffish with Grace, actually warming up to Adrian first, but Rocky? Not so much. Rocky had certainly been the last for Simon to become comfortable with, Seeing Rocky had convinced himself that Simon was a danger to Grace, calling him quite a few colourful names in Eridian, much to the disappointment of both Adrian and Grace. But of course, after plenty of pestering from Grace, Rocky and Simon finally relented from their trivial feud, Rocky choosing to make Simon a prosthetic arm from Xenonite as a peace offering.

Simulated moonlight poured in through the windows, casting a slight glow inside the shared home. Grace sat at his desk, switching between peering into the ocular lens of his microscope and jotting down notes on lined paper. Rocky had been over earlier to deliver a few samples from the SM-13 for Grace to examine once they had found a way to safely extract said samples without the risk of radiation poisoning. Grace had eagerly thrown himself into analyzing every last bit of each sample, broken up by his classes and grading papers. But now he had a few days to himself, using that time to focus solely on research. After scratching a few more notes into his notebook, he was about to turn back to the samples before the sound of padding footsteps made him pause, getting closer. He soon turned around to see Simon right as both his hands rested upon Grace’s shoulders, the surprisingly cold xenonite making him shiver slightly.
“Any progress?” Simon questioned, leaning down to Grace’s level as he stood behind him.
“Mm, not much. I think I'm gonna have to run a few more tests…” Grace lamented, sagging slightly when Simon began to rub his shoulders, pressing some of his body weight into his hands.
“You haven’t eaten Grace, they worked hard on synthesizing meat for us to eat y’know.” Simon murmured, noting the untouched plate of food beside him.
“You aren’t sleeping again either ‘Ry. I’m sure testing can wait a little longer, don’t you think?” He continued, the idea of sleep was alluring to Grace, but his need for answers was just oh so much stronger.
“‘m fine Simon, I'll be done soon, I promise.” Grace sighed, trying not to let Simon’s obvious tactics deter him this time.
Simon frowned, clearly not liking his response. His fingers briefly tightening on Grace’s shoulders before he caught himself. Relaxing his grip, he pulled up a chair behind Grace’s stool, watching him work as his hands continued rubbing his shoulders. The next few minutes stretched on like that, neither of the two exchanging many words to each other. Simon’s head hovered over Grace’s shoulder, head turning from his hands to his laser-focused face. That was until his breath hit Grace’s neck, the change was subtle, enough that if he weren’t mere inches away from his face, he probably wouldn't have even noticed. His jaw twitched, his bottom lip dipping in just slightly as he bit the inside of his lip. Something about that made a sharp thrill run up Simon’s spine, becoming acutely aware of every shift and twitch of Grace’s body. He leaned just a bit closer, parting his lips slightly to let warm puffs of air reach his skin. The hands kneading at his shoulders only grew firmer, forcing a nearly silent shudder to wrack Grace’s bones.
“Something the matter?” Simon mumbled, his fake mask of innocence much too convincing to Grace in his compromised state, unable to meet his piercing gaze.
“Mmhm. Fine.” Grace blurted out, adjusting in his seat just subtly. He could already feel a heat rising to his face, he quickly leaned forward, looking back into the lens of the microscope to distract himself.
Oh he was in for something truly special Simon thought, the thought of Grace already getting this worked up over something so simple made him nearly giddy. He wanted to see how far he could bend him until he broke, no going back now. Leaning forward along with Grace moments later, turning his attention to reddening skin as he suddenly pressed a kiss to his soft skin just below his blonde stubble, feeling his heartbeat spike beneath his lips. Grace let out a startled gasp, followed immediately by him clearing his throat to try and play it off. He needed to stay focused. He wasn’t going to ever get anything done if he kept falling for Simon’s constant attempts of persuasion. All he needed to do was keep his mind focused, that's easy. Just keep your attention focused on the task at hand— He suddenly grasped at Simon’s hair as his teeth sunk into the skin between his neck and shoulder, his sharper teeth that were a result of the intense radiation he’d faced in the blood ocean sinking into his flesh, puncturing the skin easily. After a moment, Simon released his shoulder from his jaw, following up shortly after with his tongue running over the broken skin, lapping up the small beads of fresh blood. Normally, Grace probably would’ve been disgusted if someone licked him in any other situation, but the feeling of his tongue dragging a slow line from his shoulder to his jawline did something to his hot and bothered mind, immediately drifting to a few positively filthy fantasies that had been rattling around in the back of his mind. He was too busy letting his mind wander to notice Simon’s Xenonite arm curling around his abdomen before he was wheeled back on his stool until his back was pressed to Simon’s chest.
“Did that catch your attention Ryland?” Simon’s voice was like honey in Grace’s ear, the use of his first name like that making him shudder as his arms went limp against the wooden table. Then his mouth was back at his neck again, and he seemed to completely forget about the samples.
It wasn’t long before his head was nearly draped over Simon’s shoulder, eyelids fluttering open and closed as he stared up at the ceiling, swallowing hard as Simon sucked a mark into his skin. His free hand starting to wander from his shoulder to his clothed chest, his fingers splaying out over his sternum, feeling for his heartbeat below his ribs. Grace wondered if he had ever felt more lightheaded in his life before, the blood rushing to his face diverting down south. His skin felt like it was on fire under Simon’s touch when he tugged up the hem of his shirt, one hand only coming up to pull Grace’s glasses off and placing them safely on the table just before they slipped off his nose.
“So,” Simon spoke up casually, “What do we know so far?” his hands ran over his stomach, making Grace shiver.
“Whuh– Huh–?” Grace sputtered, clearly caught off guard by his question.
“I said, what do we know so far? The samples?” Simon repeated, a bit more firmly this time.
Oh he’s doing this on purpose. Surely he is. He planned this from the very beginning. Messing with his head purely to get back at him, and he’d be dead wrong if he said he didn’t deserve that.
“Well–” Grace swallowed, “It’s uh— Um—”
“Speak up ‘Ry, I can’t understand what you’re mumbling about.” Simon cut him off, pressing his palm down onto the upper section of his pelvis, making him jump and let out a noise of surprise.
“Stop— stop calling me that. You’re not helping.” Grace was fighting to collect himself, any recollection he’d once had of any research he’d done was suddenly thrown out the window. He took a deep breath, steeling himself the best he could.
“It seems… The well… blood has some more corrosive properties… I haven't really had a chance to get a good look at the other samples yet…” He sounded dumb. He couldn’t think like this, he was stumbling over something so simple and it was infuriating to him.
“That’s all?” Simon asked, “That’s a shame, really.” He murmured, edging his fingers over the waistline of Grace’s pants. “Are you sure you don’t want to come to bed? Clearly you’re not thinking straight.”
If Grace weren’t so horny right now, he probably would’ve snapped back at his snarky comment, at least he was pretty sure it was snarky. His head felt like it was swallowed in a thick fog.
He tried to sit up with a grumble, before he was pulled back down with more force than necessary, nearly knocking the wind out of him.
“Ah-ah.” Simon tutted, “You’ve been overworking yourself for days Ryland. Maybe it’s about time someone got to take care of you for once.” His hand was suddenly cupped over his crotch as he leaned forward, pushing Grace up straighter in the process as he embarrassingly canted his hips up and whined.
“You’ve been so good to me ‘Ry. I don’t know how I ever got to deserve you.” Simon’s praise went straight to Grace’s head, shivering from the pressure of Simon’s thumb stroking over his half-hard clothed erection.
“Please… Simon– Gh—” Grace felt himself go rigid beneath his palm, shamelessly rolling his hips upwards towards the point of contact Simon had given him. Whining as he pulled his hand away shortly before he was eagerly fumbling with the button on his jeans. Grace quickly got the memo and started to assist him on shimmying both his jeans and underwear down to his mid-thighs, trying to ignore the fact that his boxers already had a slick wet spot on the fabric.
Simon wasted no more time grabbing ahold of his dick, sliding his thumb over his slit and not being able to hide the small smirk on his face when Grace gripped the edge of the stool with both of his hands. His pace started out slow, yet already had Grace moaning and whimpering next to his ear as he occasionally would shift his grip just barely.
Grace on the other hand was a mess, the exhaustion coupled with his almost constant ache for human contact made him squirm. The noises coming out of him were obscene, bucking his hips up into his hand until Simon held him down by his hipbone with his Xenonite arm.
“Pleasepleasepleaseplease— Simon, please I need—I need more please.” It was almost pitiful to watch, watching Grace already begin to babble mindlessly as he tried to squirm against the arm holding him down.
Grace nearly sobbed as Simon relented, his pace speeding up exponentially, if he were facing him he probably would've been digging his nails into his back until his skin bled, the thought of that only making his chest rise and fall faster.
“Fuck. Do you know how amazing you sound right now? Maybe I should be distracting you from your work more often huh?” Simon pressed harder against Grace’s back, peppering kisses to his feverish skin that was within reach as he pumped his hand faster.
“Language– Gngh—! God— you’re insufferable—” Grace managed to bite back, his head practically deadweight on his shoulders as he struggled to keep in from lolling backwards. His moans muffled slightly as Simon’s lips crashed against his, wasting no time with shoving his tongue into the blonde’s mouth. The kiss was frantic and sloppy as drool managed to roll down Grace’s cheek from the corner of his mouth, his moaning growing louder as his muscles started to tense up.
“Oh– oh god— Si— plea— se– close—” Grace moaned into his mouth, tears managing to spill down his cheeks suddenly as he writhed in Simon’s hold, gasping for air as he broke the kiss.
“Then again,” Simon said much too calmly, “You did say you were super busy didn’t you? I wouldn’t want to disturb you while you’re working.” His pace suddenly stopped, leaving Grace high and dry.
“Waitwaitwaitwait—!” Grace stammered dumbly, “Wait— hold on! No! You can’t just— Please! You can’t be serious! I’m— No! No! Wait i’m sorry—! Don’t stop! Please don’t stop! I didn’t— I didn't mean to get so in over my head about these— Oh god just please!” Grace’s voice broke into a sob at the end of his pleading, scrambling desperately for something that would get him to keep his hands on him.
“You promise you won’t keep overworking yourself?” Simon sighed, giving him a look.
“Yes—! Yes I promise! I promise! Now please do something!” Grace nodded vigorously, shifting frantically in his seat.
Simon shifted so he could press a kiss to his temple, before resuming his pace like nothing had happened, Grace’s skin was slick with sweat as his back bowed away from Simon’s chest, his throat hoarse from sobbing. It wasn’t long until he suddenly came with a shriek, Simon’s hand helping him ride out the aftershocks until he started to tremble from overstimulation.
By the time Simon had let go, his chest was heaving. Simon simply moving the sweat-slick hair from his forehead and wiping the tears from his eyes.
“How’re you feeling?” Simon inquired, met by a tired groan.
“If you wanted me to take a break you could’ve just asked…” Grace mumbled, just now catching his breath.
“Oh okay, like ‘just asking’ ever worked.” Simon endeared, earning a weak laugh out of Grace.
A comfortable silence fell over the two of them, Grace coming back to his senses slowly.
“So,” Simon started, “You want me to get you cleaned up or…” he purposefully trailed off his sentence, leaving it open for Grace to get through context clues.
Grace thought for a moment, weighing his options, before shrugging slightly before speaking up once again.
“Well it’s not like I have any plans set in stone for tomorrow.” Grace finally answered, before breaking out into a small fit of shared laughter with Simon as he helped him up from his chair as led him to their shared bedroom.
It was going to be a long night tonight.

Grace and Rocky sat on the sand along the shoreline of the foggy beach, having a moment where neither spoke as they sat next to each other watching the waves ahead.
“Grace?” Rocky made an Inquisitive chord
“Yeah what's up ‘Rock?” Grace turned to Rocky, giving him a genuine smile.
“Would Simon and Grace like soundproof Biosphere question?” Rocky questioned slowly, unsure of the potential answer.
Oh.
