To say Nami was irritated, would be putting it lightly. She wasn’t just irritated, she was about ready to blow a fuse. For the past week- Luffy had been avoiding her. At first she didn’t really notice if at first, he was acting normal with everybody. But she noticed it a few days in when he barely would make eye contact with her when she tried to speak with him, he also tried to end the conversation as fast as possible. Making up excuses of things he had to go do, or giving short replies before scampering off.
She figured he’d be back to normal given a bit of time- but he didn’t. He kept avoiding her, and it was pissing her off. So she made up her mind, she was gonna drag his ass to her room, and make him tell her why he’s been avoiding her. She stepped out of her room and walked onto the deck. She looked around, trying to find her target, and she did. He was with Ussop and Chopper, they sat out the railing, all of them holding fishing rods. She marched over to them, and suddenly yanked Luffy by the back of his shirt.
Luffy’s eyes widened in surprise as he panicked slightly, “W-Woah Nami what-”
With a cold and firm tone, she spoke up.“Shut up.”
Luffy swallowed the lump that formed in his throat. The way her voice sounded was all he needed to lock his trap. He looked back over Chopper and Ussop as she dragged him, hoping they’d find a way to help. But they both saluted him, both being too scared to try anything- not wanting to face an angry Nami.
He mouthed out the word ‘traitors’ to them. As Nami dragged him to her room, he accepted his fate, there was no weaseling his way out of this one.

She dragged him all the way into her- well her and Robin’s room, and yanked him by his collar of his shirt to slide to the middle of the room. She shut the door, and then turned to look at him. Luffy gulped, the murderous glare she was giving him would make any normal person crap their pants.
He straightened up slightly as he nervously forced himself to stare back at her. His lips parted, “S-so, what’s up?” He squeaked.
She took a step towards him, placing her hands on her hips. “You tell me, captain.”
Luffy’s eyes darted somewhere random in her room as he stood, unable to stare at her directly, “What d-do you mean?”
“Oh for god’s sake-” she roughly grabbed him by the front of his shirt, pulling him towards her- she used her other hand to grab his chin to force him to look at her.
“Stop acting stupid. You’ve been avoiding me all week. And as far as I remember, I didn’t do anything deserving of that treatment. So I want answers, Luffy!”
Luffy’s face heated up at the close proximity, something she noted as she stared into his eyes.
Luffy’s heart rate quickened as he responded, “D-don’t know what you’re talking about.” He murmured.
Nami growled slightly, “Luffy- I’m not dumb. All those times you’ve tried your hardest to ignore me, or get out of talking to me- i noticed all of it. You’re not exactly slick.”
“So stop beating around the bush- and tell me if I did something wrong!”
Luffy pursed his lips, then closed them again. He was silent for a moment- the heat on his face rising more and more. After a minute of her staring him down, he built up the courage to properly respond.
“It- It’s nothing you did- I don’t think I could actually get mad at you even If I tried” he mumbled, looking off to the side.
Her features softened slightly at his admission, “Then- then why have you been avoiding me?” She questioned, her voice soft.
He took a step back, “It’s stupid- plus, I don't want you getting mad.” He breathed out.
That’s when Nami got slightly confused, she raised an eyebrow, placing one hand on her hip.
“Why would I get mad?” She questioned.
He forced himself to look straight into her eyes as he spoke. Well, either she flips and punches him- or she doesn’t. Either way he’s out of options aside from telling the truth here.
“My body’s been acting weird.” He started off, and she waited for him to go on as she crossed her arms under her chest.
“Whenever you get close, my heart does this funny thing- it speeds up. My face starts feeling hot too. I’ve never experienced this before- it’s weird. It only ever happens with you- around Robin I’m completely normal.”
Her eyes widened- just slightly. Was he actually saying what she thought he was saying? Luffy- the moron that never so much as showed a slither of interest in women before? Even when she flashed him back in Alabasta- she thought he’d just forgotten about it, and didn’t care all that much. As she thought about it, she would be lying if she said she didn’t feel some type of way about him too. He freed her and her village from Arlong- and has saved her on multiple occasions. So it wasn’t that far off that she’d also catch feelings.
But to hear Luffy tell her that he had feelings for her- even if he himself didn’t know what he was saying or even if he wasn’t saying it directly, came as a surprise to her. Her lips curled up slightly, well she got her reason as to why he was avoiding her. And she thought it was sweet. She stepped into his personal space, her bountiful chest pressing up against his. And just as she suspected, his face got red, and she could feel his heart rate spike up.
“Luffy, you could have just told me.” She spoke in a soft tone, “I think I know why all this is happening to you.”
Luffy tilted his head slightly, “You do?”
She nodded with a smirk. She started trailing a finger along his partially exposed collarbone.
“Yeah- I do, and I think I know what you need too.”
And like that, her lips were on his. She could feel him stiffen up. She closed her eyes, as his remained wide. After a beat, she pulled back- licking her lips.
“So captain, what did you think? You liked it, right?” She said with a wink.
She could tell when the gears in his brain started to turn again as his mouth hung slightly open. He nodded dumbly.
“It felt… good. Why’d you kiss me- you’re not going to charge for me that are you!?” He suddenly exclaimed.
She snorted and shook her head, “No, that was free. For you there’s an exception now.”
Luffy took a step forward, grabbing both her hands. “W-wait- so I can kiss you for free!?”
She giggled, “Yes we can kiss whenever we want now, among other things.”
A grin formed on Luffy’s face. And he hugged her, and she hugged back. Running her fingers through his hair in the process. After a moment she pulled back and tapped a finger on his nose.
“But, you’re allowed to kiss me and do other stuff with me- if I catch you trying it with anyone else-”
“I don’t want to do these kinds of things with anyone else.”
Nami’s heart skipped, she let out a small laugh. Right- even if he didn’t know what exactly he was getting himself into, he still knew how to say or do the right thing. Well, almost always anyways.
“But aside from kissing, what do you mean other stuff? There’s more?” He asked.
He didn’t know much about anything, did he? Well, she’s here to teach him anyway. She smirks at him.
“Lots more. How about I show you?” She asked.
He nodded, “Okay, I trust you.”
Right, of course he did. She loosely wrapped her arms around his neck, leaning in to kiss him once more. As her lips touched his, his hands naturally found their place on her hips. He was still inexperienced, that much was obvious. But he was learning pretty quickly, as he moved his lips in sync with hers. She stopped kissing him on his lips in favor of pressing kisses all over his face. He let out a small breathy laugh.
“That tickles…” he said with a small smile.
“You know, we could-”
Suddenly the door burst open.
“Don’t worry, Captain Ussop is here to rescue you, Luffy!” Ussop yelled
“Luffy you better not be-!” Sanji yelled.
Suddenly both of them stopped in their tracks as they stared at the scene in front of them.
A tic mark formed on her head as she felt the anger that- earlier in the day was directed at Luffy, come back. But this time, she wasn’t angry at Luffy, rather, her anger was directed at the two dumbasses that burst into the room- unannounced. She slowly turned around to look at the two idiots standing at the doorway with their mouths hanging open. She narrowed her eyes and glared at them. A small blush was evident on her face- she really didn’t expect them to suddenly burst in here.
“Get out!” She yelled at them.
While Sanji stood frozen, Ussop grabbed him and slammed the door shut. They both scrambled off to another part of the ship. Great, the whole crew’s gonna know now. Not that she minded much, but she’d rather have told the rest of them on her own terms. She sighed as she turned back to look at Luffy, she smiled lightly as the huge blush adorning his face. She squeezed his cheeks a bit.
“You wanna continue?” She asked with a grin.
He instantly nodded a few times. Her grin widened as she closed the gap between them. Pressing her lips to his once more.

“What’s wrong with him?” Zoro questioned with a yawn as Sanji wept on the ground, muttering small curses directed at their captain.
“We walked into Luffy and Nami sucking faces.” Ussop muttered, squinting his eyes in disgust. At that, Zoro raised an eyebrow. Robin, who had been reading a book nearby, looked over in slight surprise.
“Sucking faces? That sounds disgusting- why would they be doing that?” Chopper chimed in, confused.
“They’re not literally sucking faces buddy. They were kissing.” Ussop says. As he said that, Sanji’s curses intensified.
“Ohhh- Okay. So she didn’t kill him? I thought for sure he was dead when she dragged him off like that.”
Zoro turned to walk away, but looked over his shoulder. “She was just mad because he was avoiding her. The idiot couldn’t realize he liked her on his own even if his life depended on it.”
Robin smiled, she noticed the odd behavior Luffy was giving off towards their navigator as well. She had a hunch as to why, but hearing this confirmed it. Well at least those two got that sorted out. She was planning to go back to her and Nami’s room soon. But she figured that she’d give them the room for a few hours, something told her they’d be busy for a while.
