Work Text:

Buck has had Tourette’s all his life, during his childhood it was really neglected as his parents just saw it has him wanting attention.
Working at the 118 meant that he masked his Tourette’s really well, the 118 always think his small movements or sounds are just Buck being Buck.

He’s been dating Eddie for about 2 months the whole team knew.
Buck hasn’t told Eddie let alone anyone about his Tourette’s as he didn’t want anyone to see him has weak.
It was quite hard hiding them from Eddie as he always noticed when Buck was slightly off, but Buck always played it off.

It’s been a very long shift and Buck Tourette’s were acting up a lot.
Bucks pushed himself a lot on calls today so no wonder.

He was stood at his locker as he just started hitting his chest, this was one of his main tics, it hurt him a lot but he can’t stop it.
He’s trying to get his hoodie out his locker as his tics take over as he starts hitting his chest repeatedly.
He stops once Chimney walks in.

“Hey Buck, you alright?”, he says with a laugh as he just noticed Buck hitting himself.

Buck grabs his hoodie and shuts his locker as he turns to looks at Chimney.

“Oh yeah, yeah all good”

Chimney laughs.

“Why the hell were you hitting yourself”, Chimney chuckles as Buck does do the most random things.

Buck just walks towards the door.

“Ohh I thought a bug was on me”, he says faking a laugh as chimney just shakes his head with a laugh.

Buck leaves the locker room.

Since their last call the tics got worse, they just came back from a really heavy call as Bobby is cooking lunch.
Everyone is doing their own thing as Bobby shouts that lunch is done as everyone comes and sits.
Eddie sits next to Buck giving Buck a smile.
Buck smiles back.

During lunch Bucks hand is twitching but he but he put it under the table so nobody notices.
But then his vocal tics start.
As he blurts out.

“Fuck, shit”, as he twitches, Bobby gives him a look of confusion followed by Hen and Chimney as Eddie turns and looks concerned.

“You okay?”, Eddie asks gently putting his hand on Bucks knee.

“Yeah-yeah sorry I banged my foot, on the uh- table”, Buck makes a quick excuse, as everyone nods.

Everyone finishes Lunch as Bobby said he’d clean up as the rest of the team go over to the couch area.
Hen is just on her phone as Chimney and Eddie are playing this stupid game on the console.
Buck begins to tic again.
He just start making clicking sounds with his mouth he doesn’t even notice.
Chimney turns and looks at him.

“You’re being weird Buck, more weird than usual”, Eddie nudges Chimney to tell him to shut up cause that was harsh.

“Sorry I don’t mean it in a bad way you’re just…you’re acting weird”, Chimney explains.

“Sorry…I uh…sorry, I’m just going to head for the bunks..think I’m just tired”, Buck says as he leaves Eddies eyes following him.

Hen looks at Eddie.

“Has he been off when he’s at your house?”, Hen puts her phone down.

“Well he always twitches and makes random sounds but that’s just Buck right?”, Eddie replies.

Bobby makes his way over.

“So we’ve all notices his twitches and noises?”, Bobby says.

Chimney perks up.

“It’s like more tics than twitches, it’s like he doesn’t even know he’s doing it”

Hen clocks on.

“Tics, wait you don’t think?”

Eddie looks at the bunk room door, then back to the team.

“He has Tourette doesn’t he, it makes sense”, Eddie looks worried.

Bobby nods.

“You’d think I’d be on his medical record though?”, Bobby suggests

Hen shakes her head.

“We all knows how his parents are his parents probably never got him tested for it medically, but he definitely has it now that you brought it up”

Eddie looks at the bunk doors again.
As Bobby puts a hand on his shoulder from behind the couch.

“Go check on him, let him know you’re there for him, you know how Buck is he doesn’t like when people can see him as weak even though he’s far from it”, Bobby nods.

Eddie is quick to go to the bunk room as he gets in and says.

“Buck?”

Then Eddie noticed Buck.
He’s sat on the edge of a bunk as he’s hitting his chest hard, repeatedly not stopping he’s crying to.

Eddie is quick to rush over and bent down in front of him, gently pulling Bucks hands away from his chest and holding them so he doesn’t hurt himself.
Buck then twitches, his neck then his whole body.

Eddie is calm with Buck not telling him to stop not telling him to calm down.
He steadies Buck.

“I’m here, don’t worry, you’re okay”, Eddie says as he grins Bucks hands.

Bucks tics slowly stop.
As he meets Eddies eyes.

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…you know don’t you…I’m sorry…you can leave me I’m weak…I’m an idiot-“, Buck says crying, shaking.

Eddie is soon to cut him off completely.

“Hey, hey enough don’t say that, yes I know we all know and that’s okay, you’re going to be okay, I don’t see you any differently you’re still my Buck and I’m glad we found out cause now we can help you, okay baby”, Eddie says gently.

Buck looks as Eddie.
As Eddie sits next to Buck pulling him into a side hug.

“Do you hurt yourself…a lot when you tic”, Eddie asks full of concern.

Buck nods.

“It normally only happens on bad days…I’ll like hit my chest repeatedly until I physically cant anymore…but bad days are only like, if I’m overwhelmed like today”, Buck says as he leans into Eddie.

“I understand, you’re really strong you know that”, Eddie says.

Buck smiles.
Then he twitches again.

“I’m sorry”

Eddie shakes his head.

“Don’t you dare apologise baby, how about you try get some sleep? I’ll stay with you”, Eddie suggests as Buck nods.

Buck makes his way up the bunk, as Eddie lays next to him as Buck rests his head on Eddies chest.
One of Eddies hands wrap around Bucks waist as the other holds both of Bucks hands gently in his.

“Thank you for…not making me feeling weak, or treating me differently”, Buck says softly.

“I would never, I love you so much”, Eddie reassured Buck.

“I love you too”, Buck muffled as he fell asleep.

Buck felt safe in Eddies arms.
As his tics stopped as he curled into Eddie more.
