Our new, little miracle

Summary:

Ushijima gently took the test from Satori’s fingers. Two, unmistakable pink lines.

Satori was pregnant.

He was carrying their child.

Suddenly the spontaneous order request made a lot more sense. It wasn’t for someone else, it was Satori’s—dramatic way—of saying they were—

“We’re having a girl?” Wakatoshi asked, voice breathless.

Satori nodded, eyes shimmering slightly, “we’re gonna be girl dad’s, Toshi.”

Notes:

So, like, low-key been wanting to play with the idea of omegaverse but mellow it way down because ya girl dosen’t wanna write all the other shit that goes with it… count this mini fic as my trial run

Work Text:

Coming home to Satori after practice was the thing Wakatoshi looked forward to the most out of his day. Something about seeing his mate in his usual swing of things settled something warm in Wakatoshi’s chest. He was so lucky to have Satori as his partner.

Today was like every other. Wakatoshi came home to the sweet and familiar aroma of chocolate. Satori worked a lot from home now, taking a week and a half to still be present at his shop in Paris. But, that didn’t mean the magic of making chocolate stopped the moment he was back with Wakatoshi.

“Toshi! Right on time!” Satori exclaimed. He crossed the kitchen in 2 strides and pulled his mate in for a soft kiss, “practice run okay?”

“It went smoothly.”

“Amazing to hear! You hungry? Cause I made a shit ton of chocolate instead of actual dinner.”

Wakatoshi smiled, “a new order?”

“Eh, guess you can call it that—but never mind that! Sit sit! I need your honest opinion.”

Wakatoshi sat down at their little kitchen island, watching his mate gather a couple of the chocolates on a little plate.

“Dark chocolate, but with a strawberry moose filling. I’ve made something similar but I tried a different recipe, so, need the honest to fault man to give me the verdict.”

Wakatoshi was never a fan of sweet things, but for Satori he would always try. He picked on up and bit into it. The chocolate was super rich, but the sweetness of the strawberry balanced it out wonderfully.

“It’s very good,” he looked at the filling, “very pink.”

“Can’t go wrong with pink!”

Wakatoshi set the chocolate down, “you said this was for an order?”

“Mhm, pregnancy reveal and gender reveal all rolled into one.”

“Oh, hence the pink?”

“Hence the pink!”

Wakatoshi smiled, “it’s a very creative way to announce such a moment.”

“I thought so too! I always love getting orders like that—makes me feel like I’m apart of something beautiful y’know?”

Wakatoshi nodded, “I understand.”

Satori smiled, then kissed Wakatoshi on the cheek. “Okay, now for actual dinner, can’t have you survive on just my chocolate! Not good for an athlete like you.”

Wakatoshi couldn’t help but smile once more… how did he get so damn lucky? Never once growing up did Wakatoshi believe he would find love, let alone a mate. Yet, Satori had placed himself into his life, and Wakatoshi couldn’t be Happier. He had a mate, a home, a career. He let himself close his eyes and sigh contently for a moment, just soaking it all in…

Then he felt arms wrap around his shoulders from behind. He chuckled silently, was Satori already getting distracted from dinner? Not that Wakatoshi minded, he liked having his mate up—

Wakatoshi felt his breath hitch as he saw the object in front of him. He could hear Satori chuckle sweetly behind him, waiting for the alpha’s reaction.

“Suprise, Toshi.”

Ushijima gently took the test from Satori’s fingers. Two, unmistakable pink lines.

Wakatoshi was never one to cry. He was a rock, solid, unyielding… yet he could not stop the overwhelming tears of joy that fell down his cheeks. He got up from the chair and pulled Satori into a fierce hug, a small laugh bubbling out of his chest.

“I love you so much, Satori.”

“And I love you, Wakatoshi.” He ruffled the alpha’s hair, “thank you for giving me a miracle.”

Ushijima shook his head, “no… thank you for carrying our miracle, that’s all you, Satori.”

Satori giggled once more but it turned into a happy sob halfway through, “stop! I’m emotionally hormonal as it is! I’m vulnerable to your random acts of sweetness!”

Wakatoshi just pulled his mate into a hug again, wanting to savor every drop of this moment.

He really was a lucky man.
