Work Text:
Yosano knew for a fact, even though they hadn't announced it yet, that Dazai and Atsushi were in a relationship. She didn't have any solid proof. She even tried following them a few times when she suspected they were going on a date, but she would always lose sight of them.
Yosano would never have guessed Dazai to be the clingy one in the relationship. Without fail, when Atsushi was sent on a solo case, Dazai would always end up disappearing not long after he left and would reappear ten minutes after Atsushi arrived back. Coincidence? Possibility. Dazai was known for skipping work even before Atsushi joined the agency, but if anything, the brunet showed up to work more since Atsushi joined.
The main reason Yosano suspected they were dating was the smile Dazai would give Atsushi when he thought no one was looking. It was so soft that she had thought she imagined it the first time she witnessed it.
Now, Yosano could simply ask them. Atsushi wouldn't lie to her, but where would the fun in that be?
When Yosano saw Atsushi walk into the cafe, she waved him over. "Atsushi, come sit with me. I need to speak to you about something." She tried to keep her facial expression neutral. The last thing she wanted was for Atsushi to suspect she was up to something and rush out the door.
"Is everything okay, Yosano-sensei?" Atsushi asked as he sat down across from her.
"I've been thinking about setting you up with someone," Yosano purred. She had to stop herself from laughing when she heard Dazai, who was seated in the booth behind her, start to choke on his drink.
"I d-don't need you to set me up with anyone," Atsushi stuttered, his face going bright red.
"Nonsense. You're young, Atsushi. You should be out having fun. So, what do you think of Lucy?" Yosano inquired quietly as she gestured over to the girl in question, who was serving a customer.
"We're just friends," Atsushi said as he looked around for an opportunity to escape.
Yosano sighed. "And I thought you'd make such a cute couple, but if not her…" She pretended to think for a moment. "How about Tanazaki?" She shivered. Yosano could feel how pissed Dazai was with her. She wondered what it would take for Atsushi to tell her that he was already in a relationship with Dazai.
"Yosano-sensei, I'm fine, really."
"You're right, Naomi would most likely cause issues that I don't really want to think about," Yosano nodded as she ignored Atsushi.
Atsushi felt like hitting his head off the table. It was clear to him that she wasn't going to listen to him at all.
"How about Nakahara? I know he's a Port Mafia executive, but-" Yosano didn't even get to finish what she was saying when Dazai pulled Atsushi out of his seat.
Dazai glared at the doctor."Yosano-sensei," he threatened as he stood protectively in front of Atsushi.
"Dazai, do you know anyone we could set our little tiger up with?" Yosano asked innocently.
Dazai practically growled as he stated, "Atsushi-kun is with me, so I'd appreciate it if you stop trying to set him up."
Yosano raised an eyebrow. "Oh, is he now?" It hadn't crossed her mind for even a moment that Dazai would be the one to cave and admit to the relationship.
Atsushi peeked from behind Dazai. "You already knew," he accused shyly. The look on Yosano's face gave her away.
Yosano winked at the two. "I had a feeling."
Dazai felt like pulling his hair out. "And you couldn't ask us like a normal person, Yosano-sensei?"
"Nope." And their reactions were totally worth it, so she regretted nothing.
Dazai sighed as he grabbed his boyfriend's hand. "Come on, Atsushi-kun. Let's get out of here."
"But we have to go back to work soon, Dazai-san."
"Yosano-sensei will cover for us, won't she?" Dazai gave her a smile that suggested she didn't have a choice.
Yosano laughed. "Just this once. I don't want Kunikida getting more headaches because of you." She could already imagine what Kunikida's reaction to the relationship would be. That Dazai will end up corrupting Atsushi's work ethic. She'll need to make sure to have popcorn that day because it surely will be interesting.
