Chapter 1: Introduction

Chapter Text

Kenny McCormick was just an ordinary senior- I mean, he smoked weed, he bought cigarettes and beer illegally, what better explanation is there?

The day was nice- He was hanging out with his girlfriend, Kyle and Stan.
It was fun- it reminded him of back in elementary school. The only person missing was Cartman, he was already an asshole but now? He might just need help.

Back in Seventh Grade was when the group fell apart, Stan and Kyle had a huge argument, and they wouldn't tell us anything about it. Just cold, harsh, arguments at the bus stop. And eventually, they stopped showing up. Stan started walking to school, Kyle would occasionally come on the bus and sit with me.

Kyle tried to stay close to me, but we ended up just- drifting apart. He was moving on- or at least thats what I thought. Cartman started to ease off from me and Stan, he said quote on quote, "We were too much of losers" to be hanging out with him anymore.

Highschool came around, and life got a bit better, I mean, I had my girlfriend, Tammy, and then I started hanging around Marjorine again- who wasn't really Marjorine until the end of freshman year, where she got kicked out for coming out as a woman. I would let her crash over on my couch, but that didn't last long. My dad told me he would kick us both out if I didn't tell her to leave. Marjorine told me that it was okay and she would stay in a motel for a bit, she had made enough money.

Thats how it stayed the next few years, me and Stan were tight, Me and Marj were tight, and everything was okay with our little group.

My phone was ringing?

"Some random ass number, give me a second"

I walked out the door- leaning against the wooden wall.
"Hello- this is Layla, Hell's Pass Hospital, Is this Kenneth McCormick?"

Why the fuck was the hospital calling me?

"Yea- uh, what's this about?"

"You need to get down here now- Stuart McCormick, Karen McCormick, and Carol McCormick are all in critical condition- they were in a brutal car accident on the highway."

What the fuck?

Kenny ran back in- grabbing his coffee.

The drive to the hospital was hell- he hadn't realized he was going twenty over the eighty speed limit.

"Kenny slow the fuck down!"

Kenny eventually ran over the curb, parking his truck.

The waiting room smelled like a mix of chemicals and vomit, it was disgusting.

"Kenneth McCormick?"

Kenny practically ran to the nurse, his eyes watering. His vision was blurring as they walked down the dim- yellow tinted hallway.

"Can you verify your date of birth please?" The nurse said softly.

"March Twenty Second-"

She gave a soft smile then looked at me.

"Please stay calm-"

"Can I go see them?"

"They didn't make it- none of them."

What?

timeskip to the day of Bebe's party

summary if u haven't read the main fic:
The four get invited to Bebe and Clyde's party, Kenny and Stan both wanting to go just to get wasted and ignore their problems. The morning starts, Stan and Kyle heading over to their house.

It had been only a day- Kenny wasn't doing great, but he could be worse. It was mostly physical, not mental. He was taking it out on himself, he had drunk a whole beer at two in the morning, barely sleeping. And when he did, he would immediately wake himself back up. He was paranoid to sleep.

** "Ken? What's wrong?"

"Nothing, just go back to sleep." Kenny croaked. **

He chugged, and chugged.

He finally fell asleep at four, waking up to what felt like a full house. He used the bathroom connected to Marjorine's bathroom, jesus christ he still felt out of it.

He looked in the mirror. His blonde hair, ragged and messy. His eyes were bloodshot red and he had major eye bags that looked like they were hanging out of his skin, his cheeks were flushed, and to top it off, he looked like a crackhead. He was wearing a Pokémon shirt- one that didn't even fit him, and it was ripped on the sides.

He turned the light off and walked into a new one, one that felt too bright.
