Work Text:
Rose rubbed their temples with an exhausted groan accompanied by the action. Their visor was shut tightly. "Seafoam, we've TALKED about this. I have TOLD you MANY times about this. I am getting SICK and TIRED of asking you again and again-" their visor was now open wide in frustration and anger. "FOR SOMETHING as SIMPLE AS YOU RESPECTING ME."
Rose did not mean to raise their voice, but this was getting ridiculous. They've lost count of the amount of times that Seafoam had broken their boundaries and made them uncomfortable, they just couldn't handle it anymore, they were sick and tired of this recurring problem; and worst of all? Seafoam never listened. Seafoam just kept clinging onto them like a leech. After each argument Seafoam would act so immature and offended and just never fix the issue and that drove rose INSANE.
Seafoam avoided eye-contact with everything inside them as they listened to Rose ramble on about how hurt they were. The mint-coloured crewmate regrets it deeply, but they just can't stop, this argument feels like another confirmation that Rose doesn't love them back; Rose never ever acted loving towards them, which they try their best to understand and make excuses for but still end up feeling hurt, and when they act loving towards the nurse they're suddenly the bad guy for simply giving affection? What kind of relationship would they even have without any sort of affection? They'd just be best friends. Seafoam doesn't get it and they feel hurt. They just kept looking at the side while fidgeting with their necklace as Rose kept crying out in the background.
It's been an hour, they haven't talked and tried their best to avoid one another; for Seafoam because they've been hurt and didn't want to keep being in the nurse's vicinity due to that. For Rose because they've felt absolutely betrayed and destroyed by the gyaru. None knew how much longer they could take of this relationship.
Before any could react they bumped into each other and looked at one another, the nurse looked devastated, and the gyaru looked like they've been crying the whole time and they're tearing up; Rose sighed and hugged Seafoam, they felt so disgusted by the physical touch they just couldn't leave Seafoam alone like that, Seafoam would probably rant about how much the nurse had hurt them anyway.
Seafoam pushed Rose away and backed off. "Y-YOU CAN'T just-" they'd sniffle "act like you HATE me and then come and FINALLY get- get affectionate! You HUR-HURT me with that, ROSE." the mint coloured crewmate cried out in frustration.
Rose was pissed, WHAT do they mean they're gonna bother and break Rose's boundaries and the second they get what they want they push rose away!? Rose wasn't even going to argue with that, Rose didn't even speak, they just walked off with an angry expression.
Seafoam felt like an asshole.
EMERGENCY MEETING!
Rose was dead.
It was right next to cafeteria too, their dead body was laying there, the top half was ripped from their body, tissue and flesh all splattered on the floor, their bone visible and bloodied, Seafoam felt sick looking at it, they felt as if it was all their fault. They just kept staring at the dead body, not listening to what the others were discussing, just ignoring whatever they were saying; they heard their name be mentioned a few times but they could care less about that fact.
In the background their crewmates were trying to figure out who to eject.
"Seafoam hasn't talked the whole time, it's suspicious." Green would start, trying to blame someone instantly.
"Yeah but they seem pretty traumatized by Rose's death." Maroon would add, trying to sympathize with Seafoam.
Gray jumped in the conversation "But the issue is how do we know they're safe if they refuse to communicate."
Red nodded siding with gray
Blue sighed, "Guys we don't have enough evidence to start blaming people."
The emergency meeting was wrapped up, Seafoam having most votes on them by one, they were terrified.
They were sent out to space, Seafoam was not an imposter.
The crewmates started arguing in the background as Seafoam just stared at Rose's ghost. "..Rose?" they spoke, barely above a whisper as they looked surprised? scared? both? they themselves were unsure of their feelings.
Rose stared back for a minute before floating away, not speaking a word to the other.
It was over.
