Drew Tanaka and Will solace had been dating for as long as two years now, they were the camp’s favorite couple— aside from Silena and Beckendorf, but Will and Drew were definitely a close second. But Will had been having second thoughts on their relationship.
Ever since Nico Di Angelo came to Camp Half-Blood, Will had been feeling a way he’d never felt before. He loved the way his messy jet black hair fell right past his shoulders, he loved the way his dark eyes shined in the sunlight, even though Nico claimed to hate the sun. Whenever he was with Nico he felt like his heart was beating faster, and his brain got all foggy as if his only thoughts were about Nico. He had to tell Drew about this eventually, but he didn’t know how to bring it up to her. How would the camp react? How would his friends react? There was so much to worry about, and he wasn’t sure he could handle it.

After multiple days of Will practically avoiding Drew, she decided to bring it up. She walked to the infirmary, and was met with Austin Lake, and Kayla Knowles, other Apollo kids, siblings of Will.
“Where is Will?” Drew demanded, voice firm.
Austin and Kayla glanced at each other in concern
“He’s over there in room 12, with Nico, wh-“
He was cut off by Drew stomping her foot and storming off to room 12. She slammed the door open, causing Nico and Will to flinch at the noise.
“We need to talk, Willam!”
“Drew- i’m with a patient, can this wait?”
“No, it cannot!”
Will sighed, silently apologizing to Nico as he followed Drew out of infirmary.
“What in Hades has been going on with you lately? You spend more time with Nico than with me! You barely show me affection anymore and people are starting to ask me if we’ve broken up!”
Wills jaw dropped just slightly, before responding,
“I- Drew- I need to tell you something.” He spoke, his voice shaking, a clear sign of nervousness, or maybe hesitation, Drew wasn’t sure.
“What?! Just spit it out!”
They sat there in silence for a moment, will opening his mouth to speak multiple times but not knowing how to say it.
“Drew.. I don’t like girls.. anymore. I-I’m so sorry you had to find out this way and I know I should’ve been honest and told you sooner but IthinkimstartingtofallforNico-“ He blurted out faster than he intended
“You what?” Drew’s face was filled with disgust, Will looked up in fear.
“I think i’m starting to fall for Nico.. Di Angelo.”
“So you’re a fag.” She spat.
“Drew! You can’t just say that! What is wrong with you?!”
“You’re leaving me for a boy!”
“I didn’t say that!”
“Then what are you saying?”
Will stared at her for a moment, before finally speaking up
“I can’t stay in this relationship, Tanaka. I’m done with you.”
Drew’s eyes started watering as she thought of what to say.
“Fine. Be that way then.”

And so they were broken up. The camp’s favorite couple was done, and never coming back. Sure Will was a bit upset about this, they’d been dating for years, obviously he’d be upset about that. Yet some part of him was relieved that he was out of that, he loved her, he really did, but she was just so mean to people sometimes, including him. He wasn’t sure how to tell people about it, what was he supposed to say?
”Hey me and Drew broke up because i’m gay and she called me a fag.”
No way in Hades he was saying that, guess people are just going to have to find out on their own.
