Summary of previous events.
It was senior year of high school. Y/n and Hanma met at a bus stop late in the night and connected instantly. (Red flag? Probably) Anyways, over time Hanma integrated himself into Y/n's life, first as a friend then as a lover. They formed a tightknit friend group of four (occasionally five #IWasScaredOfWritingAboutKisaki) with Kazutora and Leaf, Y/n's long time friend from school. The stress of grade 12 and familiar struggles were a key part of this group's relationship to one another. Leaf and Kazutora bonded very quickly and y/n always thought they might be more than friends. It was reviled that Hanma's home life was very abusive, living with his widowed grandfather who started hoarding and abusing Hanma for expressing himself after the death of his wife is a vital part of understanding why Hanma thinks the way he does. Hanma's parents are not in the picture, his mother left a few years after he was born and his father was never really part of his life at all. The only thing he has of his mother is her copy of "Crime and Punishment" which he resents because he struggles to read it (undiagnosed dyslexia). Y/n discovers his home life and they ended up moving in together. Her mom has strict rules for them, most of which Hanma and Y/n break. The couple finds and adopts a stray cat (I named my cat in real life after it hehe! Her name is Tiger and she is like a daughter to me) After bloody Halloween and Kazutora being arrested everything goes downhill. Y/n seems to be unhealthily dependent on Hanma and likewise Hanma for y/n. After awhile of pretending Hanma can't deal with being in his hometown anymore the memories overwhelm him and the thought of risking the people he loves because of his affliction with so many gangs. He suddenly decides to leave as the year ends, barely warning y/n and never really officially breaking it off with them. He left at the very same train station they met at.
I wrote the first fanfiction from grades 9-11 all of which I had never been in a relationship or experienced a lot of the things mentioned in the work causing me to not like it as much and delete it..
