It was a normal day in the Cloud Recesses.
"Wei-xiong, what's this?" Nie Huaisang asked with his finger on his chin, after Wei Wuxian came busting into their shared dorm room with a glowing orb in his hands.
he sat down on the floor and laid the mysterious orb on the floor, the duo looked at it suspiciously.
"i don't know either, Nie-xiong. I saw this when i was in the back mountains!" Nie Huaisang raised his eyebrow in interest, the orb was quite large in size, it was a glowing golden color and shined brightly.
"what are you two idiots up to now?" Nie Huaisang and Wei Wuxian turned to the door, Jiang Cheng was leaning against the door. his eyes glued on them both.
"ah? Jiang-xiong!" Nie Huaisang brightened, and Wei Wuxian just grinned at his shidi.
"we found this weird little orb thingy!" Wei Wuxian exclaimed, clearing the path so Jiang Cheng can see the glowing orb.
Jiang Cheng stopped leaning on the door, he immediately locked the door he was once leaning on and approached the orb.
"where the fuck did you find this?" he finally said, after staring at the orb for about two minutes.
“I tripped on it while i was at the back mountains.” Wei Wuxian says, huffing.
“This is certainly weird.” Jiang Cheng decided on saying.
“Ive never seen anything like this,” Nie Huaisang cuts in, he held his fan.
“Should i put it back?” Wei Wuxian asks, earning a glare from Nie Huaisang.
“What?” He glared back at his friend, who waved his hand.
“I dont think we should.” The Nie sect heir says, he was obviously intrigued in this random orb
“why not? Its obviously suspicious, we need to return it.” Jiang Cheng cuts in.
“But Jiang-xiong! It looks rare!” Huaisang whined, Jiang Cheng sighed as he rubbed his temples.
“More on why we should put it back.”
“I dont think we should.”
“Maybe we should..try and activate it?”
They turned to Wei Wuxian, thinking about his suggestion.
“Absolutely not.”
“No. Absolutely!”
Wei Wuxian sighed, as the two sect heirs stared at each other down.
“Its dangerous! Who knows what will happen?!” Jiang Cheng blurted out, Nie Huaisang stuck his tongue out at him.
“You’re overthinking, Jiang-xiong!” Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes.
“No, i am not.”
“Maybe we should try and activate it?” Wei Wuxian suggested once again. Nie Huaisang excitedly nodded his head, while Jiang Cheng shook his.
“We arent, and that is final.”
“Holy Shit!” Wei Wuxian tumbled back, making Nie Huaisang and Jiang Cheng turn around.
“What?”
“The orb just fucking glowed brighter!” He pointed towards the orb, it indeed glowed brighter.
“Holy shit! What did you do?!”
”I TOLD YOU IDIOTS NOT TO DO ANYTHING!!!” Jiang Cheng yelled out.
That was all they could say, before everything went dark, everything was silent.
