Chev, you are not winning against your sisters.
Verxina is so greedy; three whole girlfriends? Good for her, good for her.
I'm surprised Chev couldn't get a read on Dorija. If anything, Dorija's core character trait of caring deeply for those she loves should resonate quite strongly with Chev's sibling bond, especially in this fic where that's a big focus.
Totally in character for Dorija to inexplicably have every conceivable thing and some not on hand.
Very scenic and very well described for a setting that is likely quite uncommon to the average Ao3 reader. [By which I mean the boat, just to be clear.] On the cusp of completing my creative writing class, I can say this was a great example of setting. -

Summary
Orfevre says something, but Shion’s ears are ringing. She doesn’t hear. Her inflection was relatively emotionless as always, so that offers no insight.
Shion just starts laughing, delirious. “You make me sick.” Her heart beats out of tempo, odd palpitations that make her feel panicky. Bile forces its way up her esophagus. Not enough to really vomit, but enough to feel it hot and sour and stinging when she swallows. With trembling fingers, she grabs Orfevre’s face—just to have her in her hands, to feel that facsimile of power. The untouchable king, brought to helplessness.

3/9/26 - Intriguing! The "set dressing" is excellent, and it's obvious that you put a lot of effort into every detail, what with your rambling thread of additional commentary. The language is beautifully executed and structured in such a captivating way. I would like to study your prose under a feather pen and lamplight.
4/20/26 - I would like to put your Shion under a scalpel. Orfevre can stand next to me menacingly with another scalpel just at the edge of Shion's eyesight. Fascinating creatures, the two of them. -
