Jo taps on the screen to wake it when it goes black. It took him a second to understand the matter at hand. He has two missed calls, one from Yuma and the other from Maki, and 99+ group chat text messages.
It was a mistake to tell them he was going to a dinner with Kei.
But his boyfriend?
"Aren't you gonna take it? It could be important." Kei presses, and Jo realizes the blush settled on his cheekbones.
"I don't have a boyfriend."
Jo doesn't expect Kei to smile at that reply. "So y'all break up?"
