Summary
It's a masquerade. Dabi's undercover; Hawks is... whatever the opposite of "undercover" is. On display, maybe.
Unbelievable.
Dabi has to eat another appetizer to swallow the taste of laughter.
He shouldn’t. He really, truly shouldn’t, but Hawks is lounging comfortably like a Roman emperor in a beam of sunlight, arching down from the center skylight, and the water in the nearby fountain catches fire in the color reflected off his wings.
His hips, covered—if you could call it that—by leather pants slung low and inviting, are cocked in an entirely indecent way. They end at his calf like breeches, some attempt at a nod to the theme, but it’s a wasted effort, the token cherry on the half-ass sundae, and it shouldn’t be as amusing as it is.
Dabi really shouldn’t, but he walks over anyway.
