Summary
Ex settled in his void, trying to make himself as comfortable as he could in the freezing emptiness that made up the space between worlds. He was contemplating his latest schemes for the hermitcraft server, sin Xisuma had just moved his hermits into their 8th season. As he sat there pondering his newest evil plans, he suddenly became very aware that he was no longer alone in his void. Choked sobs filled the void, so quiet that if Ex wasn't intimately aware of how quiet the void could be he wouldn't have heard it at all.
listening to Evil X "manipulate" Xisuma was so fucking funny to me coming from Dream's manipulation so i decided to give one of Dream's victims to Ex.

The walk back to the lighthouse was thankfully pretty painless, as was grabbing the several pairs of pants Grian had collected from Mumbo for Tommy. The walk to meet the girls at the swamp was… not quite as painless. Even with dedicated paths, walking through heavy forest sucked, especially one so close to the swamp.

Summary
Ex was used to the cold ache in his bones and joints. You didn’t spend years in the void and not get used to it. The void had its way of creeping into your very seams, freezing you from the inside out and leaving you shivering on even the hottest of days.
Most days he did what he always had done, he ignored it. It was easy to ignore with Tommy next to him, brightening up his life.
But on days like today? Days where the aches went bone deep and the shivers shook even his clenched teeth, and the cold penetrated every inch of his body? Nothing really helped on days like this.

Summary
Ex found that preening Tommy’s wings was a wonderful bonding opportunity. Just them sitting alone in the pond house, Tommy’s wings spread out as they had the chance to slow down and just talk. It was nice.
Tommy and Ex talked about Tommy’s past a lot. Tommy didn’t mind talking about certain things, but some things, like anything that happened the day before Tommy appeared in the void was pretty off limits. Tommy apparently had trouble remembering a lot of that day, and what he did remember always made him panic.
That didn't mean his old server was entirely off limits though.
“Did you have any people you really trusted on your old server?” Ex asked.

Tommy was very good at getting himself into the most horrible situations. For example, he was now sitting on the roof of their tower, trying to explain to Ex that he doesn’t want to kill himself, his bird brain is just fucking stupid.

It had been a few weeks since Grian had been forcefully removed from his cottage by the other Boatem members.
He honestly had no idea what was going outside in those weeks. Or if it had even been weeks. It was hard to keep track of time when you spent most of your days depression napping.

Grian was near delighted when he heard the thud of someone hitting the outer ladder of the van. There was a faint cursing, and then the sound of the outside deadlock being turned came.
The door opened and Ex’s familiar helmet appeared in the doorway.
“Why were you locked in? Is this a prison break?” Ex asked.
Grian almost wanted to laugh. Oh Ex was so close to the truth.
“Let's just get out of here before someone comes to check on me.” Grian said.

Ex sighed as Tommy paced around his room, dressed in a mix of pajamas and armor, flittering from window to bed to the desk.
Tommy had a bad nightmare last night. Screaming, crying, crawling into Ex’s bed begging for help, the whole nine yards. Usually after nights like that, Ex and Tommy just stayed in, doing some work on the tower or their garden, maybe preening Tommy’s wings if it was bad enough. But today was Ex’s meeting with the therapist, so he had to leave. Which meant leaving Tommy on his own. And Tommy really wasn’t handling that possibility well.
“Tommy, are you sure you don’t want me to take you over to the swamp? I’m sure they’d love to have you over for the day.” Ex tried to offer, but Tommy only violently shook his head.
Ex grabbed his communicator and pulled up Captain’s contact info, “What if you came with me?"
Ex has his first therapy session today, but Tommy had a nightmare and doesn't want to leave his side. So obviously, the best thing to do is to take him with.
