“There’s a man out there playing with our weapons like pick-up sticks and another engaging in casual telekinetic dismemberment, and it’s the scrawny teenager made of rubber you’re worried about?”

Summary
Once upon a time, Trafalgar Law would have said he understood the concept of gods.
What gods weren’t supposed to be were women in blue and white homespun skirts, or flyaway curling hair. They weren’t supposed to have sad eyes, or a dimple at one corner of their mouth when they smiled a crooked smile. There shouldn’t be a crease of worry between their eyebrows, and they shouldn’t have a habit of humming under their breath when they were thinking.
Most of all, gods weren’t supposed to cry.
Gods weren’t supposed to mourn.

Summary
Ever since he could remember, there had always been the sea.
Luffy knew he could never explain it like that. People saw what they wanted to see, and to them, of course the sea was always there; they lived on an island in a world of islands. The sea could be nowhere else.
But to Luffy, the sea was special. And he was special to her, he knew that for a fact.
After all, she’d told him so herself.

“What’s she like?” she finally says right before they’re due to trade the watch rotation out. “The East Blue, I mean.”
Nami heaves a sigh, before standing up and dusting the sand off her legs. She’s silent for a bit longer before she gives her answer.
“When she’s around, you feel safe. You get this feeling of protection, like everything’s going to be okay. Like there’s this unshakeable bulwark that you can depend on to get you through your worse days.” She pauses, before cracking a small smile. “It’s actually a lot like being around Luffy.”
Some of the newer Straw Hats know religion. Some of them don't.
All of them are surprised by what's waiting for them out there.
