Summary
Maybe he really was cursed. Maybe, after all the times he’d protested, they were right. Because, of course, curses weren’t real. They were fairytales invented by the scared and the scarers to explain misfortune, scrape the responsibility onto something that nobody could technically disprove the existence of. Scapegoats of the supernatural, which was one thing Jimmy couldn’t stand; scapegoating.
But it was on days like this, that he began to truly wonder if all this time, he’d been wrong. Because he’d tried, he genuinely had. Yet time and time again, he died. It was like an endless, constant loop created for the amusement of higher power. Like a pawn in a game of chess, like a toy for a child’s amusement. He was far too familiar being used for entertainment, yet it seemed he still had pleasure to yield. That seemed to be the only explanation.

Summary
Tango’s panicked gasps set the soundtrack to his sudden demise. He wasn’t even sure what it was that killed them, just the slender squeeze around their necks. The hairs pricking up on the back of his neck. The chill running down his spine.
And suddenly, it clicked in his head.As the chill in his spine crept into his heart, and just like the enderman, squeezed.

Summary
Ren woke with a start, jerking upwards with the sudden recuperation of consciousness. Though, he supposed ‘woke’ wasn’t really the right word for it, because despite the desperate gasps for air, and his racing heart, he couldn’t help but acknowledge the ever-present feeling that he wasn’t really there. His head hung limp along with his limbs, and it was then he realised with a sudden lurch of his stomach exactly why he didn’t feel alive.

Summary
It had never been something BigB especially reached for. It was more that in the moment, the thrill of the secrecy ran through his veins, substituting all the hesitancy and lingering on Ren. It had distracted him, allowed him to get caught up in the moments, the little escapades of joy.
Him and Grian, exchanging gifts.
Him and Grian, cuddling under a tree.
Him and Grian, lips locking in contact.

Summary
Grian hadn’t meant to be a killer. Nobody really did, he supposed; nobody told their teacher they wanted to be a murderer when asked what they wanted to do when they grew up. Nobody wanted that to be their legacy, nobody wanted to be remembered as a monster. But still, time and time again, Grian edged closer and closer to such a thing.
But truly, he hadn’t meant to kill Scar, or Ren, or least of all BigB. He didn’t think the dripstone would land, or the warden would land that hit. He didn’t want to die, or for Scar to fall with him.

Summary
Love and hate. In Scar’s experience, they were synonymous. When he was younger, he justified this with the claim that love was meaningless without hate, and vice versa; now they simply came as a package deal. Because he knew he should hate him, and a part of him did. But at the same time, he couldn’t stop loving him.
The one who’d left him in a heartbeat for someone better, the one who never really wanted to be strung together in the first place, by fate’s thin threads attaching one life to another. The one who didn’t even seem to care about how Scar made him feel, still playing his game of chess with Scar as just a pawn.

Summary
Etho’s body was lifeless and still. If there’d been anyone looking on, they would’ve had to look hard before noticing the slight movement of his chest, or if they’d squinted, they could imagine he was simply sleeping. Of course, there was nobody there to notice these things, in fact, there wasn’t really anybody there at all. After all, could someone truly be considered ‘there’ if they were unconscious.

Summary
Burning alive was something Joel had never expected to experience, but now he thought about it, it seemed inevitable. The hunger and destruction was unmatched by any other force of nature, as was the efficiency.
Etho's hand in his turned cold in comparison to the searing heat of lava, as it devoured and tore flesh apart, like butter and a heated knife. Soon, the only thing matching the ferocity of the fire was the red tinting his vision, the constant anger threatening to burst its dams at the slightest provocation.

Summary
Bdubs shivered, curling into himself. Barks sounded in the distance, and he could feel the brutal claws, ripping into him until eventually-
He shivered again, but this time not from the cold.
Firey marks etched into his skin, angry, red wounds that ensured as a reminder of how badly they’d messed up, how they were doomed, always doomed. Maybe if he’d thought about it, thought about how out of the 6 left, Scott and Cleo would stay loyal enough to the end, that obviously it would be them four. The divorced quartet, as once so aptly put. Still, it was an admittedly strong tactic despite the mockery that they’d unabashedly participated in.
But the problem was that he hadn’t thought about it.

Summary
They had set out to win, but somewhere along the line that had got lost amongst a desperate scramble for revenge. When it all went to hell, maybe it was an effort for survival, at least that’s what him and Bdubs had whispered to themselves at night. Pretending the other didn’t hear, pretending they didn’t both know it was bloodlust, bloodlust searing through their veins. Pretending that even if it was spiteful, malicious revenge, it was because of the red tinting their vision.
It was scary, how quickly the amicability had fallen out of practice, in favour for far more primal motivations and desires. That it wasn’t even desperation for survival that led to the last day, the last few deaths. The traps, and the manhunt for the yellows. Given that, he really couldn’t blame Pearl for killing them both.

Summary
For the first few seconds, she floated. Maybe to an onlooker, she seemed calm, almost sleeping. The two problems with that being that nobody was watching, and that peace could never last.
Almost too fast, Cleo’s consciousness snapped back into focus, gasping for air that she realised too late wasn’t there. Her chest burned as water flooded into her mouth, panic setting in as she realised she was underwater. No, panic set in when she realised she was drowning.

Summary
When Martyn first snapped back into consciousness, it was silent. Not even the sound of his shallow breaths, his heartbeat, nothing. Silence. At that point, most people would open their eyes to look around, but that was pointless, Martyn knew. All he would see is the fuzzy white, the fuzzy white that had lost all meaning in relation to colour in the years since his vision had faded. So instead of opening his eyes, to whatever pointless mean it would be, he listened.

Summary
If he’d ever been asked to describe what it felt like to have your heart ripped out of you, he would’ve described the same thing. Well, not exactly; the feeling of being ripped from limb to limb differed, and the soul-bind only made to add more pain. As if it was not only taken, but then regurgitated over and over into something beyond the physical pain of initially exploding. Something more twisted, more manipulated.
Regardless, the premise was the same.
