Summary
"We could run away together." The sorcerer shrugs as he says it, and he speaks flippantly, but Dark Choco could sense the twinge of sincerity in the offer, more believing it impossible than being against the idea.
"I couldn't..." Dark Choco Cookie states, rotating the Strawberry Jam Sword in his hand, studying the ever-sharp blade. A blade coated in the jam of his homeland, of his own father. His jaw sets, and he looks at Licorice Cookie instead.
"I'm sure you probably could, if you tried." Licorice Cookie rebuts.
"I have. It's yet to work." He replies firmly.
"Well, exactly what is the worst that could happen, if we did run?"
"I kill you."
"You like me too much for that."

The outside world, beyond this cursed church, is far more inviting.

Summary
But this was better. It was nice, and oddly freeing. One would think that being handed a fairly strict and repetative schedule would be quite the opposite, but after so many years of being a slave to the darkness, this was a breath of fresh air. A welcome change.
... So what's wrong?
That's the question Dark Choco Cookie asks himself, after nearly two months of what had supposedly been a wonderful new life for him. He was safe here. Welcomed. He felt as though he finally belongs where he is, not out of life debt, but as a sense of community.
So why isn't he happy?
It almost felt as if this figurative puzzle he's clicked into isn't quite as perfect as it seems. Every edge lines up as it should, the snap is satisfying and the placement doesn't distrupt the other peices. But it doesn't feel right. Because despite fitting so well...
He isn't in the right picture.
