"You'll meet my son, Achilles, soon," Mr Pelides told Patroclus on their drive there. "You two will get along just fine. He's as wild as they come, though." The indulgent pride with which he said the words made them sound almost like a compliment. "Don’t let him talk you into anything."
Patroclus blushed as he swore, with strong conviction, that he would absolutely not do that. No sir.
He knows better than that.
Or: Achilles is a threat and a menace. As they grow up together, Patroclus falls for him anyway.

“I’ve brought you someone,” Peleus tells Achilles as soon as he sits at the table. “A boy, to keep you company.”
Achilles pauses in the act of picking up his fork. He’s still breathless from his bike ride and there’s sweat cooling on his forehead and dampening his shirt in the summer heat. “You brought what?”
“His name is Patroclus,” his father says conversationally, as if he’s talking about the weather. He smiles his charming smile at Achilles’ baffled stare. “He’s a good boy. I think you two will get along just fine.”

Patroclus gives him an incredulous look, and Achilles grins enthusiastically. “We should go on an adventure!”
"How would we even go about doing that?" Patroclus mutters, his eyes so big and owl-like behind his glasses. "Athens is… so far away."
"Where there's a will, there's a way, my friend." Achilles throws his arm over Patroclus' shoulders and gives him an encouraging shake. "So what do you say, huh? Would you go on an adventure with me?"
"Okay," Patroclus chuckles. His reply comes swift and without any hesitation, his cheeks flushed a warm pink. "Let's do it."
Or: the one where Achilles and Pat build a boat to sail to Athens, but things don't exactly go to plan.

Summary
Christmas dinners have never been a thing in the Pelides household. Achilles and Patroclus would always make fun of those boring, stale customs together, so it is something of a surprise when Peleus informs them that Christmas dinner is going to be held in their house this year.
It certainly sets off more than a few alarm bells in Patroclus' head. Peleus staying in Phthia during the holidays is a rare occasion in and of itself; expressing any sort of desire to gather the family together is very much unlike him indeed.
"Tell me the truth," Patroclus asks Achilles, very seriously. "Is Peleus going senile?"
Achilles snorts and smacks him with one of the pillows.
Or: how Peleus comes to find out about Achilles and Patroclus being more than just friends :)

Patroclus stares at his phone screen. He types and deletes. Types, deletes. Stares at the screen for at least another minute. His thumb hovers over the send button for a beat; he swallows thickly before pressing it, scandalised by his own boldness.

(15:55) Achilles: Just took off my gym clothes and chilling on the bed… it’s so cold here without you
(15:55) Achilles: What would you do to me if you were here right now?
