Summary
Satoru Gojo was a man who could do many things without even having to try. He was a man of talent, as some would say. He could do anything and everything he wanted to, because he was just that good at everything.
Except taking care of, not one, but two kids.
Yeah. Defeating special grade curses that would level a city in no time would take him no sweat to exorcize, but dealing with two kids was way above his pay grade. If he even got a pay grade.
But he was trying his best.

Summary
Megumi had yelled at him before, had shouted, and kicked and punched at him in a temper tantrum. Megumi had insulted him before and they always slid off his Infinity. Megumi had said he hated him and wished he would leave, which Satoru would brush off with a smile, even if he felt a tinge of hurt.
Now, he stopped in his tracks, almost like he was paralyzed in place. The words cracked and shattered his Infinity like glass. His eyes widened behind his glasses and for a moment he felt like his heart stopped.
“He’s taking care of us.” Tsumiki’s barely audible voice from behind the door told again, trying to make her brother change his mind.
“Well, I don’t want him to! I hate him! I hate him! I wish he’d leave! Or switch placed with Toji.” Satoru heard him say with animosity and hate.
AKA: Satoru thought there was nothing that could get past his Infinity. But all it took was a stubborn and neglected sea urchin for it to shatter.

Summary
Shoko sighed, sitting beside him before taking his head and putting it against her shoulder, holding it there. Surprisingly, he did not fight back the touch. She hated when this happened, when Satoru was way too tired even to remember the previous night. When those short answers were all he could say because the whole world was two instead of one and he could barely concentrate. Those days were the worst.
Shoko gently caressed his hair, remembering that Suguru used to do that when Satoru got like this. “Well, it is. And normally it would be more concerning than getting a call from Tsumiki at 3AM, but it’s not.” She answered softly, still whispering.
“Got home around 1.” He protested, taking another sip of tea. “Took a shower then went to sleep.”
“Well, from what Tsumiki told me, you were in the bathroom for over an hour. She could see steam coming from under the door.” Shoko told, sighing. “You know, a normal 10-year-old shouldn’t see their bathroom painted red like 10 murders happened in there.”
AKA: Satoru's skill of being late worried his kids and Shoko had to gently beat some sense into her friend.

Summary
“My reason?” Satoru finally said, unemotionally, looking to the ground in deep thought, almost like he didn’t want to remember something. “Maybe I just wanted a change. Maybe I wanted to feel something more. Megumi was in a difficult spot and I saved him, but...” He stopped to think about his words. He spared a glance at Megumi, this time, with a softer look. “Maybe he saved me as well.”
AKA: Satoru realizes the actual reason why he took in 2 kids. He thinks so at least.

Summary
Suguru stared deeply into the sorcerer’s eyes and decided to dig the grave deeper, accompanied by a small, maybe even a soft smile. “Didn’t think you were capable of that.” He knew the words would hurt Satoru, but he didn’t care at this point. Suguru knew he wouldn’t dare to attack, not with the kids behind him that he seemed to be protecting.
He saw pain flash in the sorcerer’s eyes and with a quick blink, Satoru pushed it away, shoving the hurt deep inside himself amongst other hurt already present. “I could say the same to you.” He spoke, voice lowered and a hint of coldness could be heard. That surprised Suguru, not expecting him to act that way.
“What, no comebacks?” He asked in mild confusion. “Maybe you have changed. I knew you would push it down, but I could always see through that mask of your-”
Suguru couldn’t finish when suddenly, Satoru gripped his kids and yanked them out of the mall, passing by Suguru, giving him a side eye full of hurt and betrayal.
AKA- The past comes to bite Satoru and he makes reckless decisions, prompting the same biting past to comfort him in his time of need.

Summary
“I dreamt about my parents. That… they had button eyes.” She raised her head, looking at him. “And they took me away. Away from you, away from Megumi.”
Her tone got softer, got more vulnerable, more shaky. Her lip trembled and her eyes were filled with tears. He pulled her closer to him.
“Hey, hey, it was just a dream, okay? I’m still here, Megumi is still here, okay?” Satoru spoke softly, almost in a whisper. “Everything’s okay. You’re with us.”
She snuggled into his arms and let out a shaky breath as Satoru kept saying comforting words and stroking her hair softly. He kissed the top of her head, before resting his chin on top of it. “No button-eyed people will take you away. I’ll scare them away if they try.”
AKA- After a movie night, Tsumiki has a nightmare and Satoru promised to scare it away, which he promptly did.

Summary
“But it’s a wedding! And you don’t care about what others think.” Well, debatable. Satoru looked back at Tsumiki, hearing her voice grow softer and more pleading with each word. “Satoru, can we go? Pleeeaaseee??”
Both Yaga and Shoko’s eyes widened by the evident fear that Satoru displayed on his face as Tsumiki outright begged him with her puppy dog eyes. Satoru was sure he stopped breathing, maybe even stopped living for a second.
“Tsumiki, darling, it’s really not a good-” Satoru cut himself off, seeing the sweet yet dangerous eyes of an angel that was Tsumiki’s now start to grow wet with tears. Satoru actively started to panic as he felt his chest tighten. “Tsumiki, no, no no no no, please, don’t cry, please don’t-”
And this was how they ended up at the Gojo estate 3 days later, dressed up formally in front of a huge plaza and a mansion where the wedding was being held.
AKA- Satoru and the kids go to a suffering wedding. Yaga to the rescue.

Summary
“He deserves to know what it’s like to be a child, not some prodigy right from birth.”
“I don’t think you are qualified to make that statement.” Naobito told, equally low and serious.
“Then who is, if not me, who is the same as Megumi?” He asked, raising his head a bit, as if looking down at them. “He deserves a childhood. A normal childhood that most kids in our society can’t have. And I’m giving him that. I’m giving him the freedom that kids need because I know for a fact that old geezers like you would never even consider it.”
“Now, you’re going too far there, Gojo.” Naoya narrowed his eyes at Satoru, raising his voice slightly.
“The moment you get this kid, this fantastic, brilliant kid into your clutches, what will you do, hmm? Will you pick him up from school, walk home with him, tuck him to bed, calm him when he has a nightmare or is upset? Huh? No, no you wouldn’t.”
AKA- Satoru takes Megumi for a meeting, which doesn’t go as planned, like they ever would.

“I told them not to do anything the first time.” He mumbled under his breath before he sat up on the table and looked at her with a small pout.
“Says the guy who celebrated Megumi getting a good grade in math?” Shoko raised an eyebrow and crossed her hands with a smirk.
Satoru rolled his eyes with slight annoyance. “You know I don’t like my birthday-”
“The kids are doing something for you.” She cut him off sternly. “Suck it up for one day and go have fun.”
AKA- The kids want to do something for Satoru’s birthday.

Summary
Satoru didn’t care. It was all like a lie, just entertainment for him. He was the strongest, could do anything he wanted, could get anything he wanted. He never cared for anything except himself, he never did. Why would he care about some kid he had never met before? There was no reason, no meaning. Satoru was using Megumi for his own entertainment, using Tsumiki for his own entertainment. To entertain his boring life that had no meaning.
And everyone else just played along? Or didn’t they know, too? Did Satoru play them as well? Or was it only the kids he played with? Did he enjoy it? Did he like it? Did he thrive in the thrill and pleasure of trapping the kids in this fake reality, toying with them with fake beliefs and promises? Did he take pleasure in building up their trust and breaking it down suddenly, shattering it like some piece of glass? Something to use to clear his boredom and after he didn’t find the pleasure anymore, he would throw them aside?
Did he ever care?
AKA- Satoru was away longer than anticipated, which made Everyone worry and Megumi spiral and curse the sorcerer for ever making him believe he would stay.

Summary
Yaga felt Satoru’s shoulders shake, and he patted his back gently, having a firm yet soft grip on the back of his head. “You’re human, Satoru.” He whispered softly. “Whether you believe it or not, you are human. You’ll always be to me. You’re my student, my-” Kid. He wanted to say. And that wouldn’t be wrong. The students grew up with him, those who did not die immediately in missions, anyway. They all were- are- his kids.
“You’re human. My student.” He repeated again. “And I’ll never see you something less, or more. Understand?” Yaga tightened the grip on the kid, his voice firm.
He felt a small nod against his shoulder, heard a shuddering breath, a deep inhale, and then softly, barely heard- “I’m human.”
AKA- Yaga has a talk with Satoru, hoping the student would let the teacher into his closed off circle and into his heart fully.

Summary
“We have a new homeroom teacher for this year.” He told after a slight pause, looking towards the school.
Satoru looked to where Megumi pointed and his eyes widened slightly. “A sorcerer?” He asked himself under his breath, but Megumi heard it, causing the kid to look up at him with surprise.
“Really? You sure?”
Satoru lifted his glasses and looked at Megumi with an expression that told: ‘I’m gonna pretend you didn’t just ask that.’ He looked back at the substitute teacher, putting his glasses back on.
“Something wrong?” Megumi asked, slightly on edge seeing how intensely he was staring at the new sorcerer.
“No, just…” He trailed off, not really knowing how to put his thoughts into words.” I never knew a sorcerer to teach normies. That’s kinda weird.” He told, crossing his hands, narrowing his eyes. Megumi only hummed as a response.
AKA- Megumi doesn’t have a good feeling about the new teacher in his class.

Megumi felt his heart race out of his chest and his breathing got heavier. “He… He… has been-” He never was the one to panic. “I think someone kidnapped Satoru.”

Summary
“The kids don’t want to go with him! They’re old enough to choose for their own! Tsumiki learned to cook before learning to play with dolls!” Satoru finally snapped, letting out his pent-up anger, his fists clenching tight. “Tsumiki learned how to clean, to manage bills, to take care of another kid before she could have a normal childhood herself, all because you took her mother and decided you didn’t want to parent anymore! Decided it was better off to kill a little gi-”
“Mr. Gojo, that is enough.” Minho raised his voice a bit, furrowing his brows in seriousness. “Despite that you have cared for these kids and what you may claim, you have no proof.”
No proof? He wanted to shout out and rip everything he ever knew to shreds. His own body was fighting against him. His body wanted to run, but his mind wanted to attack, he saw red. Attack, kill, fight. Fight for his kids.
His kids, not Toji’s.
AKA- Satoru faces his trauma again to get his kids back from the man he killed.
