Summary
When he returned to Rook, his voice was almost unbearably soft. “You’re an idiot,” he muttered, as though speaking to himself. His hands were still trembling as he pressed a cloth to the wound, trying to hold it together.
Rook, ever the charmer, just smiled. “You sound like Viago.”
Follow the growing relationship between Lucanis and Rook, told from the POVs of their companions. As the two get closer, everyone has their own take on what’s going on between them. Expect a lot of pining, misunderstandings, and some lighthearted moments as the companions watch their relationship develop.
Edit: This fic did much better than I ever expected - so, as a small thank you, I decided to revisit and rewrite it. Now featuring even more longing, more words, and hopefully, even more to love.

Summary
His hair curled slightly at the ends, one particular curl resting just above his temple, catching the golden light. It was a dark loop, as if a painter had carelessly brushed it there - a mistake at first glance, but one that, upon closer inspection, made the picture more perfect. Lucanis blinked, startled by the direction of his thoughts. He never noticed THAT before.
Or, a retelling of the Treviso market date between Rook and Lucanis, with the former freaking out about the dagger and it’s implications.

Summary
Lucanis smiled softly, but there was nothing shy about the way he pushed off from the chair and took a deliberate step closer, then another. “Good,” he said, his voice growing quieter but no less certain. “Because I don’t think I can hold back anymore, Rook. Not from you.”
Rook froze.
Or, a retelling of the relationship lock-in scene of Lucanis making Rook dessert, now with added spice!

Summary
Spite, who had been uncharacteristically silent, tilted his head at Illario and smirked. “Good,” he murmured. “More hands. More lies.”
Rook snorted. “That’s the spirit.”
“No. I am a demon.”
Rook sighed, rubbing a hand down his face. Maker, what was he doing with his life?
Or
Rook is trying to figure out how to live after saving the world (spoiler: it’s not going great). Lucanis, however, is discovering the real struggle - being a lovesick fool who’s terrible at feelings. Meanwhile, the Crows throw a banquet that’s as cutthroat as it is fancy, because nothing says “family bonding” like veiled threats over dessert.

Summary
A Dellamorte never kneels,
but here, in this room of blue light and drifting fish,
Lucanis is already half-undone.
Rook’s hands are warm. Steady. Sure.
Lucanis is none of these things.
His hands stay where he puts them-
Still as he has trained them to be.
Still as steel.
He does not know what to do with them.Series
