Summary
Demetri isn’t quite sure how his life got to this point. One minute, he’s keeping his head down, watching Doctor Who and playing Dungeon Lord with his best friend, the next, he’s caught up in a karate war and ‘best friend’ feels too juvenile to even begin describing his and Eli’s relationship.
Here’s what he knows: Eli has a mohawk and it must have some kind of Green Goblin helmet-like ability to turn his best friend into the worst person alive with some hair gel and some toxic masculinity, there’s too many full grown men beating teenagers up in order to teach them to more efficiently beat up other teenagers, and this ‘friends with benefits’ situation has spiralled in a way Demetri never would've guessed.
It starts with a joke.
