“That’s not a human.” You continue, staring at the wires that slowly move as they drag something up from hell. You see Barnaby beside you fight between looking at you or whatever is about to arrive at the center, but you don't pay any more attention to him at all.
You keep your eyes on the wires until, slowly, a cage eclipses your view and the pulley and all the wheels grind to a halt.
“That’s a monster.”

“It doesn't matter.” Zoey says in a clear tone, stepping up beside Mira with a serious look that’s a complete contrast from her usual bubbly demeanour. “This doesn't concern you.”
You stifle a laugh.
“It certainly does.” You counter, making a show of holding Rumi tighter and pressing the knife further into her. “I may not be a Demon Hunter, but that doesn't mean I don't hunt demons.”
