“So...” Stefan dragged out before grinning sharply, “How’s Nico and Will doin’?”
The effect was almost instantaneous. Most of them groaned, a few of them squealed, and others, like Sophia, only groaned and buried their face in a pillow.
Because, as they all perfectly knew, Will and Nico were perfect for each other. Will was the last person Nico talked to every night (they had spies, and they knew everything). They surprised each other with their favorite treats (fruity twizzlers and mcdonalds), and they could always tell what kind of mood the other was in, just by the first few words in their sentence. Nico knew how Will preferred his omelets, and the fact that Will could eat breakfast for every meal. Will knew Nico's favorite firework.
But they are absolutely, totally, completely not dating.
And the Aphrodite cabin is having none of that.

It's Connor's sixth year at camp and everything is just about the same. The big seven are still as big and noteworthy as usual, Travis, although dating Katie now, is still pulling weekly pranks on the Demeter cabin, usually involving shaving cream, water balloons, and semi permanent hair dye. Code Red Mountain Dew still fills his cup in the Mess Hall when he sits down, and the few hidden nooks in the camp store are still overflowing and hidden with their contraband goods. The floorboards still squeak and the door still slams from the wind on a nice day, and the new Hermes kids are just as wide-eyed and mischievous as ever.
Everything is exactly the same.
And Mitchell is still beautiful.

“That means…” Connor shared in the look of horror, jumping to his feet. Katie, in between the two boys, looked as confused as Mitchell felt.
Travis slowly rose to his feet. His gaze was as serious as sin as he surveyed their apartment, Katie and Mitchell still curled on the couch, and met his brother’s eyes. “That means Mom’s coming for Thanksgiving.”

No one had ever claimed the gig was an easy one, but gods, sometimes the job took more than he had to offer.
He could handle the kidnappings--either as vengeance or as bait for Katie or Travis--he could handle the wounds that ached even after his quick healing took care of them, he could handle the long, unforgiven hours or even more unforgiving New Yorkers who had been swayed by The Daily Beast. That was all apart of the gig, and he was lucky enough to have an incredible support system to know exactly what he was feeling and how to help in the best ways possible.
But this? This he could decidedly Not Handle.
