With Ophelia, Severus discovers his own self, putting his work as a vessle aside. Nothing is going to be the same because great things require greater sacrifices.
Ophelia sees Severus. Actually SEES him. He's not a pawn, not a puppet, not a lamb for slaughter and that makes it all that more difficult to not make a choice. But he does.
