When JYP had come up with this “girl group that breaks visual boundaries and redefines what it is to be a beautiful Korean woman” idea, Seo Chaebin had privately thought that the man must have been high.
He sounded completely out of his mind when he ranted for half an hour about how idol groups only ever explore androgyny in the male-to-female direction, and how he was going to take the industry by storm with a girl group who embraced androgyny “in the opposite direction.” Boys in skirts were nothing new, he said, but girls in…(he’d made an utterly indecipherable hand motion here).
