"It's just you," Dan Heng says softly. Almost dumbly, but then again, he is still half-asleep.
"It is," Blade replies.
Dan Heng blinks hard, sighs, and then turns and walks back to the kitchen counter.
…strange. "You didn't answer," Blade notes. His voice is free of both hostility and true curiosity.
"Isn't it obvious?" The words suggest sarcasm, but it seems Dan Heng cannot quite sharpen his tone enough to follow his intentions through.
"You're baking," Blade says flatly. "At three in the morning."
"Yes."

March is about to say something sweet in return, only for Stelle to interrupt with a decidedly ominous, "I've got it."
Dan Heng rolls his eyes. "Let's hear it."
The triumphant look on Stelle's face is a bad sign. "You aren't unavailable," she declares. "You're taken! You've got a secret lover back in Xianzhou, haven't you?"
The idea of Dan Heng in a relationship is not something March can even visualise. "Yeah, right, imagine-"
Wait. The look in Dan Heng's eyes… no way that's embarrassment. Maybe longing- no, Aeons, that's worse.
Stelle sums up the matter very eloquently, in March's opinion:
"Woahhhh. Really?"

Summary
Dan Heng scoffs. "I'm in denial? You're the one who isn't listening to me! You're the one who won't admit what he wants."
A dangerous light sparks in Blade's eyes as he pushes down, just slightly, enough to remind Dan Heng of the position he's in. "You speak," he says as if amused, "As if you know. Yet you claim to remember nothing."
"I can hazard a guess," Dan Heng growls through his half-crushed throat. "You hunt me down but won't kill me. You went out of your way to look at my Mark. What you want is this. Our… hunt, if it can be called that."
Blade raises a brow. The motion is carefully controlled. He stays silent, as if to say, go on.
"You didn't know for sure if we were linked," Dan Heng continues with all the arrogance a man pinned to the ground by his neck could ever hope to muster, "But you didn't know for sure that we weren't, either, you thought-" Dan Heng finds himself smiling. Even though he dies here, he dies with the upper hand. "You thought, even if you're my executioner, technically, that still means you're mine."
