Up to this point she could pretend her inability to have regular romantic relationships was purely because her parents got divorced and all she saw as a child was an unhealthy broken marriage, so of course she didn’t know a normal way to be in a relationship. Her brother, having had a girlfriend for a year, threw a brick in that argument. Maybe she could blame her perfectionism. She knew she was controlling and needed to plan everything, which would make her relationships stressful and not as easy going as movies made it seem.
