Recently awakened as the Slayer, Buffy Summers is dealing with a lot of sudden changes: her parents' separation, a unavoidable move to Sunnydale, the unsettlingly inhuman abilities every Slayer inherits upon the death of their predecessor...
At least her little sister Dawn (who has definitely, *always* been there) likes her.
Sunnydale and the Hellmouth it was built on await her, and the ever-looming shadow of something beyond comprehension creeps ever closer.
Alt: slow-ish burn eldritch horror BtVS, will get psychological thriller-y at points (in addition to canon-typical violence)
This is an AU on multiple fronts, and will lean heavily into the supernatural "otherness" of the Slayer, coming of age in the Hellmouth, and more of the horror aspects of the source material. The canon is being used as an extremely loose guideline.
