Summary
Jo stretched nonchalantly. “My birthday was yesterday, so the boys and I decided to celebrate it today when we’d all be in the same place.” They’d been planning it out for weeks.
“Would you mind if I come along?” her roommate asked. “That sounds soooo fun!”
Brick and Lightning and Anne Maria all looked at Jo. She wished they hadn’t. Now she’d look like a jerkwad if she said no. But this was her birthday celebration. They couldn’t just let anybody join in.

Summary
Now that she was 18 and old enough to live on her own, Sammy wastes no time in finding herself a new apartment. It's a nice little birthday present that she gets her friends to help her move into, and she's more than happy to hang out with them for the rest of the day. But after spending every single one of her past birthdays with a certain someone else, someone whom she now wants nothing to do with, Sammy finds herself simultaneously elated and... weirdly empty. And she is unsure of what to do about it.

Summary
She couldn't count how many days they'd been walking together. Couldn't remember when exactly she had left home. They'd been sleeping under the stars, or on the smelly seats of buses, or in run-down motel rooms for what felt like weeks, all so that the five of them could leave this joke of a country and never look back.

Summary
Brick located Shawn in their practice studio, which doubled as a personal office they’d been coerced into sharing. Shawn’s back was turned, and he scribbled frantically on the corkboard wall. Brick was unsure how it was possible, but his fellow anchor’s crazy brown hair appeared even more frazzled than usual. And was that a coffee stain on the back of his jean jacket?

Summary
Izzy's psychosis is something she has to work through daily, even though it seems like a funny joke to the other contestants on the show. Kaleidoscope wasn't just a funny nickname. For a while, it felt like the most real thing in the world to her. Duncan is more sympathetic than she would have given him credit for.
[TLDR: Izzy is mentally ill and Duncan genuinely wants to help and enjoy her company. Also he's a simp. Made for Total drama Writers Month 2021, week 2! The prompts were Unlikely Duo and Behind the Scenes, I think it would also fit the prompt In Between Takes! Big thanks to my friend Ishi for proofreading and editing with me!]

Summary
Reality TV is just that - TV based on reality. Just because it's meant to be perceived as being realistic doesn't always mean the production of it lines up with what is shown to the audience. Often times a character is made to be more sympathetic than what they deserve, or is made to be a villain when in real life they're anything but, all so that there's some sort of conflict to overcome.
Sammy had to deal with exactly that on the set of Total Drama: Pahkitew Island, but she wasn't the only one who found herself suffering. That became clear when she suddenly received an invitation to a chat hosted by some of the older Total Drama contestants, all of whom had the intent on supporting those who were forced to become something they were not. This was Sammy's chance to be among the few who shared her troubles - to find more friends who could relate to the bad experiences she went through.
And maybe, she'd be able to pass that chance on to someone who needed it much more than she did...

Summary
But then the door cracked open a smidge, and two pretty blue eyes stared at her.
“What’s up, girl?”
Anne Maria didn’t have time for his attractive voice or for pleasantries. “Hi. I’m Jo’s roommate. Let me use your TV.”

Summary
After the final bell had rang, Sky hustled across the courtyard. Even though she was naturally speedy, it took a while to cross. One, the February air was freezing, and it was hard to run in snow boots. Two, the yard was thick with students. Sky was forced to dodge backpacks, instruments, and idle teens just to catch a glimpse of the red tracksuit for which she’d been searching.

Summary
Harold wouldn't consider everyone he had as friends to be the most friendly bunch. Quietly, when he's alone, he wonders how much of him he can let them see, and how much of him they'll accept. And much less quietly, his girlfriend encourages him to plunge into the deep end.
[A transguy Harold short story made for #tdwritersmonth ! I used the dialogue prompt very very loosely, and moreso the week 1 concept of summer activities!]

Summary
Clasping her hands together, Ella sighed. “You guys are just like Romeo and Juliet! Two lovers, starcrossed, pulled apart by fate.”
“It’s nothing like that.” Bridgette smiled shyly, likely reminiscing on secret moments that might never be spoken aloud.
“But now the stars have aligned!” Ella sat up a little straighter, already imagining a grandiose wedding for her new friend and her beau. “You have the rest of the summer ahead of you! Isn’t it time to start dating and enjoy it?”
