Izzy shook her head almost immediately, a sharp, frustrated movement. She didn’t stop pacing. “I can’t calm down,” she said, her voice low and tight, like she was afraid of saying too much. Her long, straight hair swayed with each step, brushing against her shoulders as she turned, eyes flicking around the room as if she were looking for an exit that wasn’t there.
