Between the events of How to Steal a Dragon's Sword and How to Sieze a Dragon's Jewel, Hiccup hid in a cave from those who would hunt him, and in turn themselves, to extinction. He unwittingly goes through a hole in reality to a world where certain people have very familiar names.
Between the events of How to Train your Dragon 1 and 2, in the time between Race to the Edge and Defenders of Berk, Hiccup and the Gang chase, and eventually capture, a strange rogue dragon rider who was NOT, in fact, setting Dragon traps.
